I am about to start my christmas shopping in a few weeks..I think its easier to start buying now than to try to come up with all the money the week before..lol when do you start christmas shopping?

i tried the year round thing and it wouldnt work with my 5 y/o in the house. Now I save money year round and go the day after thanksgiving. LoL yes I know what a horrible day but I love the thrill of the hunt! So from then until Christmas I shop.
Parents, when do you start shopping for christmas?
I'm a traditionalist. I like going after thanksgiving, when the city has all the Christmas decorations and crowds and festivities. I guess I actually enjoy it for the atmosphere of rush and busyness and slight chaos and wintertime. I appreciate it more for that than the actual gift-shopping. I don't think the buying of stuff is all that big of a deal. It's just shopping. No need to make a big stressful deal of it or go crazy. I just enjoy it. What I don't find at stores I can always buy online.

How many people I���m buying for depends upon what family and friends I’m more in connection with at the time, who still wants to receive presents, and what the family is doing regarding presents (in my case the family adults usually don’t get a lot, maybe one-two gifts, the major gift giving being done from spouse to spouse or from boyfriend-girlfriend).As far when do I start my Christmas shopping? If I know what they really want before the season, I’ll start in January of the year and shop throughout the year, keeping it bagged and boxed away. With as crazy a people are in the U.S. of A. with shopping and fighting for deals, not to mention bad driving habits, if I can avoid getting out in shopping center’s traffic, I do. Some come December, I’m only driving to work, friend’s parties, or I’m staying home with a roaring fire, a bowl of wassail steaming on the stove, and curled up on the couch with a good Christmas book, watching a Christmas movie/show, or listening to Christmas songs.

For me December 20th about right. I really hate the whole business, love Christmas but hate thinking what I can get everyone I need to get something for. Fortunately I have 2 of the very best Santa’s little helpers, my wife and our daughter. They don’t actually stop Christmas shopping. They most likely have in their stash of bits and pieces they bought last year, ready for this year.An example. Our daughter has both of her sons having started their own independent lives. Something happened to the youngest one and his partner a couple of months ago and she realised neither of them has a first aid box so she has been collecting together the bits and pieces to put one together. As she comes across items which she feels they need so she gets them. They then go into the empty first aid boxes she hunted out right at the beginning.This Christmas present business is a permanent thing for them, which is fortunate as I really can’t be bothered.

I think it's never too early, but be sure it's not too late though! You can start as early as NOW. I would even suggest that when you see something nice for someone during the course of the year, buy and reserve it for Christmas gift-giving. You can even keep up with your budget for Christmas shopping when there are good finds on sale even way, way before Christmas. Starting to shop early will not give you the usual holiday stress. Remember the long queues, the rising prices, the heavy traffic, etc. You can set a smart schedule for every shopping day. Say, this weekend, you'll shop for colleagues at work; the next weekend or whenever, for friends; and so on. Set a wise budget too. If you're thinking of Christmas decors and ornaments, take note that there are a lot of marked down prices after the holidays. You may find some great finds for the next Christmas season!
What month do you start shopping for Christmas?
JulyWhile that might sound crazy to some I find that the list of people I shop for is a long one. And the thought of waiting until the last minute makes me nervous that I would be forced to buy something that the person would not enjoy.In addition to that who could afford that visa bill come January?I keep my list from year to year to compare last year‘s gift giving. How soon after Christmas 2018 will you start shopping for Christmas 2019?
It will be a while.My birthday is in September, and my wife’s is in August, so neither of us start to think about Christmas presents for each other before then. We’ll also be out of the country for an extended period in 2019, and that has to take precedence.In my case, I suspect I’ll start giving it some thought in November or so, and will probably make any purchases late November/early December unless I see something remarkably apt beforehand.

I never really stop thinking about Christmas. I start my Christmas shopping for the next year right after Christmas. Those I love and want to buy something nice for Christmas are always on my mind. I have a limited income and buy through out the year when I have the extra money and find that special gift. I tuck the gifts away until late November. Then I set up boxes for those that have to travel the farthest or go through the mail. I paint the boxes to make them pretty and give the receiver a hug so to speak. Using a flat paint so the Postal stamps and stickers will adhere to the boxes. Right now I am down to the last three people on my Christmas list and two of their gifts are on order so I only have one more to buy and I am done. I have been shopping this way for many years. I always seem to cause a stir at the post office when they see me come in with my painted boxes. Each clerk wants to be the first to see my packages.

If you have limited funds, make some gifts, and try donating your time to helping others, and volunteering in lieu of gifts. You can give away gift coupons for things like running errands, shoveling snow, baby sitting, anything really, because your time has value, sometimes it’s even the most valuable.I do hope this helps.
