When Does Star Trek Into Darkness Come Out

How does Star Trek Into Darkness compare to Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan?

Is Wrath of Khan a superior film. Of course! The sense of suspense, the drama, the excitement of reacquainting ourselves with an old villain come back to exact his revenge and the analogy of captain Ahab chasing after Moby Dick, his prized hunt, even if it will cost him his life, all make ST II the great film it is. You also can't forget the part that made everyone cry in the theaters, the final dialog between Kirk and Spock, Kirk's touching eulogy..."Of all the souls I've encountered in my travels....his was the most human." (while chocking back tears) and of course KHHHAAANNN!!I did like Into the Darkness. It was a fun movie to me. Not the greatness of ST II but still a fun movie that I will watch when it comes on.

Star trek into darkness questions?

Ok,

I just saw the movie last night and I have some questions to ask.

1. How come Spock is the only one who can hurt Khan without a gun?

2. When Captian Pike died, was Spock helping him rest in peace or did he read C. Pikes mind?

3. Was Admiral Marcus the main bad guy or Khan?

4. How come that thing (Khans Family) inside the bomb kind of look like Data from Next Generation?

5. And did Future Spock really help past Spock to defeat Khan?

p.s. #6. Did you like this movie? Was there anything missing that a rookie doesnt know?

Thanks

How did "Star Trek" and "Star Trek Into Darkness" set up the third movie in the reboot, "Star Trek Beyond"?

I don't think they did very much groundwork -- perhaps just a small bit of setup with the Klingon raiding party on Q'onos -- seems strongly likely that a(nother) revisitation of the Cold-War metaplot will happen for Reboot III, involving Klingon loyalists or Klingon separatists or some other combination thereof.  2016 will be the 50th anniversary of Star Trek;  seems appropriate to roll out a(nother) big Klingon story. Now, that said, Abrams and company have indicated that "Reboot Trek lives at a somewhat-higher level of technology than Original Trek, due to scanned-info and bits and pieces of the futuristic Romulan Narada and such" -- so maybe the plot could incorporate some advanced-bits-of-Section-31 technology, or bits-of-Khan technology, or similar.  I don't think this would be a strong bridge between the films, but possibly just a slight whisper of continuity. So, though I know very little about the upcoming threequel -- Idris Elba as some sort of Klingon master-strategist or Klingon separatist, wielding some sort of new superweapon, would be my guess.  Perhaps Kirk and Idris-Klingon can eventually team up to fight some third as-yet unseen figure (Talos?), so as to keep it from being too formulaic.  With big spaceship battles and such as a nod to the franchise's roots.

Question about "Khan" in Star Trek Into Darkness?

In the movie "Star Trek" (2009) with Chris Pine as Kirk and Zachary Quinto as Spock, part of the plotline was that the original Spock (played by Leonard Nimoy in the movie and original TV series) went back in time...along with Nero the villain of that first movie. When that happened, the "old" Spock and Nero were both stuck in the past, and Nero did things that changed the timeline...so there were now 2 Spocks...the "old" one from the future (called Spock Prime later on) and the younger Spock (the one played by Quinto)...and the events that happened in that movie were supposed to be different than what happened in the TV show due to the changes made in time. "Star Trek Into Darkness"(2013) picked up the storyline of the previous movie, where the timeline has been altered so what happens is different than the way it happened in the show. If you remember from the movie, young Spock (played by Quinto) contacts old Spock (played by Nimoy) and asks him if he ever met Khan in his timeline...and while old Spock is reluctant to say too much because he doesn't want to interfere in young Spock's timeline, he does tell them that he had met Khan before, that he was the greatest enemy he had ever faced, and that he was only beaten by "great sacrifice" (which of course was "old" Spock's death in the movie "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan"). So from that you can see that old Spock had the events that happened to him in his timeline, but young Spock is dealing with different (although somewhat similar) events in the new timeline.

So, to answer your question, in the first timeline, Kirk met Khan for the first time in the TV series (in the episode entitled "Space Seed"...where they found Khan and the others frozen in the ship called Botany Bay). In the altered (or second, if you prefer) timeline of the "Into Darkness" film...Kirk first sees Khan when he's shooting up the meeting with the Admirals (and kills Admiral Pike) and MEETS Khan for the first time on Kronos when Khan gives himself up to be taken prisoner.

Star Trek Into Darkness Bridge Crew?

Other than Carol Markus, who is the blonde with the short hair hanging on the left in the red engineering uniform on the right side of the screen when facing the bridge?

Does kirk die and revive in The Star Trek in to the darkness?

Yes.

He is revived when they inject him with the villain Khan's blood. Khan's blood has amazing regenerative and healing properties, and can even revive something that has died as long as the tissue and brain isn't too far gone. (Damaged or decayed.)
They cryo-freeze Kirk to help keep his tissue intact and protect his brain from damage from going too long without oxygen, and then run Khan down and get some of his blood and inject it into Kirk.

Who is the villain in Star Trek Into Darkness?

SPOILER ALERT:Benedict Cumberbatch does play "John Harrison", a rogue agent. However, "John Harrison" is an alias created by Section 31 to cover up his true identity. Section 31 recovered the SS Botany Bay and decided it was a great idea to have a genetically superior superman design weapons and ships for the increasingly militarized Starfleet. So yes, "John Harrison" is Khan Noonien Singh... KHAAAAN!The secondary villain is Peter Weller as Admiral Marcus, who is aligned with Section 31's ideologies and have risen to become Head of Starfleet. For those new to the Star Trek franchise, Section 31 is the clandestine organization that employs all "necessary" means to defend the UFP/Starfleet from all perceived threats. The real "villain" however, is the darkness of Man's human nature when filled with vengeance and aggression. Starfleet represented the best ideals and aspirations for sentient species in the Alpha/Beta Quadrants. It has however slipped "into darkness" ever since the Narada's incursion into the present alternate timeline in the previous movie. The "villain" is defeated when at the end of the movie, Kirk and crew reaffirmed the mission of Starfleet and the USS Enterprise to the ideals of peaceful exploration and understanding and they embarked on their first five-year mission as in TOS.

In Star Trek into darkness why were their people inside the torpedoes ho out them there and why?

Yes, the Admiral had Khan's crew captive in their cryogenic-tubes. Khan somehow recovered the tubes and hid them in the torpedoes he was being forced to build for the Admiral. That is the most unbelievable part of Into Darkness' back story for Khan. But that is exactly how it is explained in the movie. Otherwise a really enjoyable movie!
