NO THEY ARE HERE RUN RUN THEY WILL GET ME SAVE YOURSELF *war cries* NOOOO *gets decapitated by professor* *blood gets spilled everywhere*

Is there a way to "auto-quit" a Mac application after you close it?

You're not closing the app. You're just closing the currently open document. But if you're running Lion, then you get the benefit of a nifty feature called automatic application termination. It won't ever quit the front-most app, but it will quit background apps if they don't have any open documents. The apps have to be written to specifically take advantage of this feature. Most Apple apps like Preview and Text edit will auto-terminate if they have no open windows and you switch to another app. Just clicking on the desktop should be sufficient, since that makes the Finder the frontmost app.(The Finder never auto-terminates.)It's a bit ironic that you're asking this question, because if you search for "automatic application termination" you'll mostly find articles explaining how to disable it. Many users find it disconcerting to see apps quitting all by themselves. If it's not working for you, then it's possible that it's been disabled. If you're the only person who has ever used your Mac, then presumably that's not the problem. Here's a link to an article describing how one person fixed this: ENABLE automatic termination

Which popular apps don't have a Linux version? Are there Linux versions for Evernote, Slack, Glip, Google Drive, and Buffer? If not, would they work with a Windows simulator?

Google Drive works perfectly on Linux. In fact, if you install the Google Chrome browser, which has a Linux version, you can even set it up to open in a separate window so it’s more like an integrated app. To do this you just click on “Apps” on the bookmark bar in Chrome, right click on Drive, and select “Open as window”. You can also create shortcuts in your Applications menu in a similar way. Here’s Drive opened from my Application launcher, running in its own window on Fedora 25 KDE spin.Any browser based service can be run without problems. Additionally, there are ways that, with a little work, you can create entries in Applications menus (at least with KDE Plasma, but I would assume with other desktop environments as well) that will launch separate Google Chrome windows in “app” mode (no URL bar/Bookmarks bar), making it seem more like an integrated app. They would look similar to the above image. Say you want a Quora app, this is done by setting it up so that clicking on an entry executes the code: google-chrome -app=https://www.quora.com . I can do this by simply right clicking on my application launcher, selecting “Edit applications”, clicking new item and entering the above command in the “Command” field, naming it and setting up and icon.I will also note, that if you absolutely must use Microsoft Office, the Office 365 version is browser based, and you could set it up on Linux in the same way as I just showed. I’ve never used Glip or Buffer, and they seem to be paid services, so if they have a browser interface, you can do the same thing as above. A quick google search revealed Circular as an open source alternative to Buffer with a Chrome App. Simply searching “open source alternative” should give you options for most software.Other than that, you may need to find some open source alternatives, look into Wine, or if you are willing to spend some money, look into Crossover by Codeweavers. It actually uses Wine, but may provide an easier experience with installing apps. You can also search their website to see what software is known to work with it. You can also look into what apps work with Wine as Crossover is typically using an older version of Wine, there may be some apps that don’t work with Crossover, but do with Wine.

On an apple macbook laptop, there is a question mark over an icon, what does it mean?

I presume the menu bar that you were referring to is the Dock (the one at the bottom, the actual menu bar is at the top)

Question mark indicates that the actual program has been deleted or moved from its original location (default is "Applications" folder)

Check your Trash.. Were they mistakenly deleted? If you can find it there, just drag them back to the Applications folder (To open Applications folder, in Finder choose Go > Applications)

If they don't we can proceed..

Let start with iPhoto...

Could you find iPhoto using Spotlight (activate it by pressing Command+spacebar then type iPhoto)? Hint: Command key is the Apple key besides the spacebar

If the iPhoto appears in the Spotlight search, press Command and click the iPhoto icon in the spotlight search result.. (Pressing command key will open the location of the iPhoto... If you don't press the command key, it will open the iPhoto program.... ) A folder will open and iPhoto application will be highlighted...

Find out the location of iPhoto.. (You can look at it by activating the Path Bar (in Finder choose View > Show Path Bar) If it is not in the Applications folder I suggest you to move it there so your Mac can update it automatically.. Moving an application is simple, just drag from old location to the Applications folder.

After moving it to the Application folder, drag the iPhoto to the Dock, and drag the old iPhoto icon (with ? on it) out from the Dock....

Do the same thing with Photobooth..

Your photos are likely still in your computer. Choose your Home folder (the one which icon is like a house), go to Pictures and you can see the file which name "iPhoto Library".. Right click on it and choose "Show Package Content" to browse your photos... Please don't add or remove anything from this library as it may confuse the iPhoto...

============
If you can't find any of iPhoto or Photobooth just hope that you have your Time Machine backup... Just restore from the Time Machine backup... Otherwise, you should do an Archive and Install to install back those 2 applications..

Why am I automatically following people on Instagram when I never chose to follow them?

If this is happening to you, let me tell you right away that you’re not alone in this. Something like bug, or security issue is causing some accounts to auto follow spammers. Unfortunately, I know this because mine is one of them. But good thing there is a solution. You probably gave access to a 3rd party program (like webgram). These programs are attractive because they allow you to download photos or see who unfollows you, or increase number of your followers, but you if you actually read the permissions before you install them there is usually a catch, most likely this one. So, please if you need help with growing your account ask for it on secure and verified sites.Solution? You need to go to the web based version of Instagram then go to edit profile, and manage applications. Take away permission from the 3rd party program to access your profile (You might need to download a new program that doesn't follow people without your permission), once you do that change your password and you will stop seeing random people in your feed.

How do I run Don Bradman Cricket 17 (PC) if clicking the game application says Game already running content?

Hey pal, Don Bradman is probably the best series of cricket games ever released. First of all, KUDOS you play the game…Now, let's come to your question…! The first thing that you can do is Right-click on the game icon and select Run as Administrator and grant all necessary permissions. If the problem still persists, then open TASK MANAGER by pressing CTRL+ALT+DELETE from your keyboard. Then go to the process tab in the Task Manager and search for DB2017.exe(I don't remember the exact process name, so it maybe some other similar name). Now, right click on DB2017.exe and click on end process tree. Hopefully, your problem will be solved.Do upvote if you find my answer legitimate. Thanks

I am applying online for Family Dollar... Where is the submit button?

Okay. I got online in search for jobs. The website states there are openings. So I select the opening of choice and fill out every field that was required of me. Now I am at the very end of the application. The 'Summary' section where it says: "Note: You must click the 'Submit' button to complete the application." I scroll up and down the page repeatedly and to my surprise there is no 'Submit' button. Where is it? Did I miss it? Frustrated!
