When I Forget My Thoughts I Become Very Anxious

Why do I feel anxiety due to the thought that I will forget what I learn and after seeing huge portion?

Exactly I had the same problem when I was studying for my MBA in 2011. I thought of many things and nothing would get into my head. I would try to think of many questions and the answers. I would get to zero. The mistake - thinking of too many things at a time. Then I realized that my thought process was wrong. Solution was simple. Study one thing at a time and recapitulate that item only and try to understand it fully. Don’t think of anything else. Try writing it down and see that you remember it.So remember to focus on the issue/ subject/ item that you are studying. Don’t try to think of anything else. One step at a time. One thing at a time. Try it and you will see that there is nothing to worry about.

Can ECT help me to forget anxious thoughts?

In my case, ECT “helped” me to forget approximately six months of everything!I’m not saying that this treatment isn’t very helpful for some people in putting severe depression into temporary remission, but my personal experience was a bad one.I lost all of my short term memory and capacity to form short term memories for six months following my treatments. To this day, I still have difficulty with my short term memory, although not nearly to the extent I had then.As far as anxiety is concerned, I recently read an article that stated this:The concern of some psychiatrists is that while ECT may help with depressive symptoms, it could worsen anxiety symptoms—like worsening obsessional thought or panic attacks.Of course, everyone is different and will experience different results from ECT. I do strongly feel that if the main reason you may be considering getting this treatment is to “forget anxious thoughts”, that you should not undergo ECT.Try seeing a good therapist who does cognitive behavioral therapy to combat unwanted thoughts.Practice relaxation techniques or meditation to reduce your anxiety. It’s not difficult to learn how to do self hypnosis either, which can be a useful tool in managing anxiety. If you have obsessive thoughts on a frequent basis, there are medications for obsessive compulsive disorder which could be helpful. Some antidepressants approved to treat OCD are:AnafranilProzacLuvoxPaxilZoloftYou may also benefit from short term use of anti anxiety drugs such as:KlonopinAtivanValiumXanaxThere are even a few anti anxiety drugs that are not physically addictive and can be safely used for longer periods of time than the benzodiazepines listed above. Two examples are:VistarilBusparIf you have obsessive anxious thoughts and/or phobias, you may also want to try exposure and response prevention therapy. Here’s a link to a description of ERP:Exposure and response prevention - WikipediaIn closing, electo shock therapy should be reserved for cases of chronic, severe depression when nothing else has worked. There are so many effective treatments for anxiety or “anxious thoughts”.

Do you know how a computer works? Do you know how your mind works? We load our program/process to RAM from Internal device HDD or external devices for processing by processor.Similarly, anxiety can be simulated to our conscious mind/RAM through external interference by ear, eye or using both of them as external input device. I can't sleep........anxiety thoughts are killing me?

This is from an article about night anxiety and how to deal with it, hope it helps:

"If you suffer from night anxiety, be aware – you are definitely not alone. 50% -70% of anxiety and panic disorder sufferers have reported having night anxiety attacks as well. You would think that anxiety and stress could at least give you a break at night – but no. Maybe you are worried about losing your job. You go to bed, but toss and turn for an hour. Finally you get out of bed at 2 A.M with full-blown anxiety or panic attack.

How You Become Afraid of the Night

Your anxiety quickly spreads to other areas: a nine o’clock doctor’s appointment, the urgent tasks you didn’t get to accomplish today, and the presentation you’re going to blow if you don’t get some sleep. Awful thoughts fill your head:…”I’m going to be a wreck tomorrow”, “This thing will drive me crazy”…”Am I going to die tonight?”

After a few nights of these repeated thoughts, you start being afraid of the night starting with early evening. It is a hopeless situation.

My Little Story

I used to be sure that I am going to die. With what was racing in my mind, there was no way to drift back to sleep if I could go to sleep at all. The quiet of the night, the isolation and “night sounds” were daily triggers to my night anxiety. I couldn’t sit still, but I didn’t have much energy to move. I could pace around for hours thinking how I am going to lose my mind. I didn’t have a spouse or anyone else to lean on.

Over the years I found just a few methods that gave me some relief from night anxiety, I wanted to share them with you:

The Best Methods to Fight Night Anxiety:

1. Avoiding prescription drugs – I have tried that out – and it gave me a little relief – but the goal is to get through night anxiety without creating another problem – chemical dependency. Besides, these drugs will never cure the condition, only temporarily relieve symptoms....

Why do you forget things when you're nervous?

Question being answered. Why do I forget things when you're nervous?Being nervous is a natural reaction to certain situations that are not comfortable. Our mind works in unison with our body. Our muscles move by a section of conscious control. However, there is a branch of the nervous system, consisting of nerves, sends messages, that is unconsciously controlled. When you are afraid the body starts to beat faster. As a consequence the blood needed to fuel the brain of oxygen is re-directed to the heart muscles. Also, a natural reaction of the body of being in danger, wether real or imagined, causes our breathing to become shallow in depth of respiration. Also, increases the frequency of the breathing. This chain of reactions reduces the amount of oxygen in our brains. How does having less oxygen affect our brain?Every brain cell in our body has a nucleus that functions on oxygen. As our muscles are being well filled to prepare to run or fight, our head becomes fuzzy and focuses on surviving. We want an answer, to our problem. Because of that we may forget certain stuff. Some people become laser focused in difficult situations. It often happens when the person diminishes fear of failing without the disappearance of awareness of danger. So, in short forgetting details or something you just wanted to remember is caused by the evolutionary way that we have adapted to react. Our body is affected by sleep, thoughts, and food.I'm sure there are many more things that I may have forgotten to add. But it's okay, I'm probably just nervous.I hope this was a satisfactory answer.

HELP!!!! on holiday and forgot my meds (antidepressants for anxiety)?

Just go to an "urgent care" or "convenient care" clinic. It is kinda pricy. Probably around $200. you may want to call around clinics and tell them your situation and get exact prices before you go. I don't think a dr. would have a problem writing you a prescription here and you get it filled at a pharmacy here. Also, maybe they'll give you some xanax or something to help for now.The script could also be expensive, but it's worth it. I've been there before. good luck.

Why do I always have anxiety and confusion in my mind? How do I keep myself calm and peaceful at all times?

First let me tell you, this is not unique to you. This happens to most of us in today’s world, where you have so much of noise external & internal. You just need to consciously practice “being present” and you might be able to get out of this with flying colours. The only condition is keep doing it consciously until it becomes a way of life for you.Enjoy the present moment as much as you can. Anything that you are doing. It could be as simple a task as drinking a glass of water. Feel the glass in your hand, the cold glass, the water in your mouth, the taste, the texture, see how it is nourishing you and helping you gain energy. At first you might feel its a lot, but if you want to come out of your current situation you need to put in some efforts. Be conscious at all times. Most of the times when your are under anxiety or not at peace with yourself, you are not conscious Or aware. They are many other techniques but for everything you first need to be conscious. Practice for a few days and do let me know the difference.Shit Happens ...
