When I Move My Teeth/jaw I Feel Like My Brain Is Moving. Is This Something To Be Worried About

Noise when moving jaw?

Ray,

The most likely cause is something called TMJD or temporo-mandibular joint dysfunction. There is an alignment issue with one side of your jaw. Sometimes this can be managed easily by a trip to the dentist to even some teeth. Other times, some orthodontic work over time will fix it. There are some extreme cases in which surgery is offered, but most cases are the less complex variety.

I've started flossing regularly and now i can feel some of my teeth click when i touch them with my tongue ?

First of all: there is absolutely no need to panic. You won't lose your teeth. And there is help. The clicking sound is indeed caused by flossing. but it is perfectly harmless. The teeth are not tightly attached to the jaws. They are linked to the bone by an intricate fibre structure (the Sharpeyan Fibres). These fibres allow the teeth some motion. When you remove the floss by pulling it in the direction of the chewing surface, you lift the pair of teeth you just flossed very, very slightly. Especially when the space between two teeth is narrow flossing makes your teeth shift a tiny bit (fractions of a millimetre) relative to one another. Once you are done with flossing the fibre apparatus, the pressure of your lips and, of course your tongue brings your teeth back into place. This is causes the clicking sound. Because the fibres are stretched a bit after you flossed you may hear that noise from time to time again as your tongue tips a tooth. It can be nasty. Yet there are ways to avoid the clicking.

1. Do not pull the floss out towards the chewing surface. Form a loop instead and take it out sideways (towards the cheek or the lips). 2. Use waxed floss. It moves smoother and reduces the risk of clicking. 3. I use very thin inter-dental brushes and floss only when I feel like it. This keeps my teeth clean without clicking. That was rather long. But you asked for it.

Teeth move more after drinking alcohol?

Well if you got your braces off recently they will be loose because you have tendons holding down your teeth. These can become inflamed and loosen the teeth. The teeth will be free to roam about the cabin for a while, then they will settle back in. You should look into a permanent retainer so you don't forget to put in your removable, if that's a bad habit of yours. And alcohol is what you call a psychoactive drug. It heightens your senses and dulls other brain functions like logical thinking and all that good stuff. So that may be the effect your feeling. Or it could be that it relaxes you to the point those tendons I was talking about relax enough, and do to your recent dental work, let your teeth move.

Does crystal meth make a person move their jaws after they've been clean for a few years?

There have been cases of crystal meth users developing a neurological movement disorder called dystonia or tardive dyskinesia. If your friend is clean and sober yet has involuntary movements of his/her jaw and/or tongue, it may be due to damage to the basal ganglia from long-term drug abuse or an imbalance in the brain level of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that is involved in the brain signaling the muscles to move. If the person can stop the jaw movements when they are pointed out--that is, if they can control it when they are made aware of it--then it is NOT dystonia or dyskinesia, but that doesn't mean that the person is necessarily using drugs.

If this jaw movement is the ONLY behavior that makes you think the person is not sober, I would urge you to continue to support the person's sobriety by believing them if they say they are clean. If there are other behaviors that make you suspect the person is using again, then you would have to weigh that against what they say is true.

Why does cocaine make you grind your teeth?

it's called bruxism. it's due to cocaine's effects on dopamine receptors in your brain. the cocaine makes your brain tell your jaw muscles to clench really tightls. other drugs lilke amphetamines and ecstasy can do this. people can get serious teeth damage from bruxism. they can also get headaches and long term jaw pain.

Why does my jaw move to the side better on my right side?

Your motion to your left side is being blocked by the brain due to a noxious input. The problem is to identify what is the noxious stimululant. It couyld be coming from a number of areas and I shall just one example from each.Brain. If you have a history of damage or pain when moving to your left the brain may put a hold on that motionTeeth. You may for example have an undetected crack in a tooth that will be annoyed by moving to the left, so the brain shuts down that motion. The tooth or teeth could be on either side.Muscle, you may have a trigger point in the muscles of the right face and so the brain limits the motiont of these muscles.Joint. The right joint may be bound up, hence the left joint works more, resulting in a swing to the right. It can be difficult to figure out the cause of the problem and even when the problem is discovered and treated the brain must still be informed and retrained to resume the required motion. It can be difficult to resume normal function and I believe it is the accumulation of these acquired deficiencies we feel as aging.

Will my brace elastics move my jaw forward??!?

Okay so what happens is your orthodontist will tell your nurse that you need elastics. However each elastic is made differently. Some are looser than others, he/she will probably start you on the loose elastics than work your way up. You will not look ugly. What happens is they move you top set of teeth back as much as they feel they need to to give you a gorgeous smile. Know i had braces because i had an overbite too. I did not mind wearing the elastics and my smile is way better now and i don't have an under or overbite. So don't stress your doctor knows what they are doing. But if you are still concerned talk to your ortho about it. Hope that helped:)

Does tooth removal affect the brain?

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY ’CAUSE THIS ANSWER IS DIVIDED INTO1.Losing teeth and brain damage2.Extracting teeth and brain damage3.Tooth abscess and brain damageResearch suggests that losing our teeth(LOSING NOT EXTRACTING) is actually a cause of memory loss.Sensory impulses created by the movement of our jaw and teeth are fed to the area of the brain that forms and retrieves memories, say scientists. Those without their own teeth produce fewer signals to be sent to this region, which is called the hippocampus. The number of teeth an individual has is linked ‘uniquely and significantly’ to their performance on tests of episodic memory, where they recall events from the past, and semantic memory, involving factual information. After taking other factors into account, older people with most of their own teeth had on average a 4 per cent better memory than those without, the study found. However, the results could also be down to chewing, which increases blood flow in the brain.HOWEVER….WHETHER EXTRACTION OF TOOTH LEAD TO BRAIN DAMAGE?Extraction of upper teeth do not affect brain or vision. These are only myths. With right technique, any tooth can be simply extracted and does not matter whether tooth is firm or mobile. Rest assured, believe in your dentist and leave it to himNOTE-There is something called TOOTH ABSCESSA tooth abscess is a pocket of pus that develops due to a bacterial infection in the mouth. Abscesses can develop on different parts of the tooth, and because they will not go away on their own, it is incredibly important to treat them as soon as they develop. Abscesses can be caused by untreated cavities, and injuries to the teeth and mouth, so proper oral care can be the best preventative treatment to avoid the tooth abscess and YES!!! This can lead to brain damage

Why do I hear sounds like crystals shattering or sand grinding in my head when I move my head/neck side to side?

It has also been described as sand grinding between bones. If you are fairly young , and don't have a history of bone , or disc disease , it can be the result of loss of your normal alignment of your Cervical spine , especially after a Whiplash type accident , long term sleeping on your stomach , or two pillows , hours of looking down at your work everyday , or a habitual 16 hour combination of work , and sleeping in a fetal position for several years.A side Xray view of your Cervical (neck ) will show a loss of natural curvature , aka “ Military Neck “ That looks similar to this [ | ] , this [ /] , instead of this [ ) ]Certain Doctors of Chiropractic use a technique , with a drop forward, and down headpiece , at C-5 to gradually RE-SELLERS introduce the natural curve back into the neck.Personally , I have seen it happen as quickly as 3 weeks , and as slowly as 2 years , with documented progress on Xray views .Grinding symptoms usually disappear in 4–8 weeks after initiating treatment.
