When I Plug In My Headset It Doesn

My Astro A40 headset doesn t have the right plugs to go into my hp envy labtop?

I just got an Astro A40 gaming headset for Christmas and my HP envy laptop doesn't have enough holes for the Y adapter.
It only has the one hole.
I usually use turtle beaches which come with the USB for the mic so I've never had this problem.
Is there a way I can buy a converter and if I can what would it be called? Would it be to USB?
Sorry, I sound really stupid.

My phone doesn't recognize earphones when I plug them in. Absolutely no response. What should I do?

Is it an Android phone ? or Apple ?If it is Android, when you adjust the phone volume, there will be a symbol at the right that looks like either a gear wheel or an arrow pointing down. If you tap this, it will display 4 separate volume controls. The Media volume has to be higher than zero, for any sound to come out for music, or game audio. This volume is separate to the volume level used for ringtones and speaking/hearing on a call.If the volume level is correct:Try the headphones on another device, to check that they work properly, or try another pair of cheap earphones in the connector. Sometimes the earphones connector seems like it is pushed all the way in, but is not completely in. They often make a click noise when they are pushed in completely. Also, check the rating of the earphones, are they standard earphones ? or fancy ones ?Sometimes the Ohm rating is too high, so the device can’t drive the earphones unless the volume is higher than normal, or an amp is used.If the headphones work on another device, and a second pair of headphones doesn’t work with the phone either, then it sounds like the connector has a wiring fault.

My (Razer) Headset is making a noise!?

I have a Razer headset that i bought today.. Like this one: http://www.inet.se/files/img/max/6606567_0.png

Its like an USB port that gives it the power and then you have to plug-in mic and speaker as well..
But here's the problem.. When i plug-in the USB thing into my computer it makes noises in the speakers like "brbrbrbrbrbrrbrrrrrrbrrrrr". Like when you turn on that TV-Channel that is just buzzing. (I hope you understand....)

It makes this sound in everyone of my USB-ports... But when I plug it into my Xbox 360 it doesn't sound like that... Can someone tell me what to do? Because if not I will trade it back at the store...

Why does my headset mic not work on my computer?

So I built a computer recently but when i plug my headset/mic into any of the mic and audio jacks, it doesn't register and wont record the voice. Should I get a sound card or is it just the mic? It works fine on my laptop and anything else. The mic is a turtlebeach xp510 and the computer uses a EVGA gtx 960 gpu and gryphon z79 motherboard.
Thanks!
