When I Reply To An E-mail Why Doesn

When you reply to an email on Gmail, why doesn't it include the attachment automatically? What was the thought process behind that decision?

This is not a GMail thing but an E-Mail thing. Reply does not include the attachments, forward does. The reason should be semi obvious. A reply means to are responding to the person who sent the attachment to begin with. Why would you include something they already have. A forward (by definition) is being sent to another, ie: it is forwarded.

What do you do when someone doesn't reply ?

I really hate when someone ignores my chat or use hmm. When a guy reply “hmm”. I tell him not to behave like girls. And if a girl reply, I will send this screenshot to them.I am in contact with very few girls and most of them are my friend's girlfriend. So I never get this opportunity that a girl is replying hmm to me.If someone ignores my chat I generally tell them “you have made me seenzone.”I have learned it from Karan. And I am using it when somebody don't reply to me.

What does it feel like when someone does not reply to your emails?

I get worried. Then if I do not get a reply, to a second or third, I get angry. I do not want to live my life being annoyed. My loved one, refuses to reply. I feel hurt and disrespected. I am very confused as to why he has refused to answer. This has been happening for many months with my partner. It started when we had a disagreement and I sent him a letter about how we need to work on the issue. He will not reply and then come home from work and not even mention that I sent him a note or letter. Like everything is normal. . So then I forwarded him an article from “psychology today”, and he still ignores me. He is not mad and acts like everything is normal. I asked him why and he sits there and does not say anything. So I talk and say about 15 sentences about how I feel about it and he just sits there looking like a deer in the headlights. This keeps hurting me and so I asked him to go to therapy. He said no. So I sent him more links to relationships, feelings, marriage, depression etc.and he keeps ignoring me. He said he will not read the stuff or go to therapy, does not care to work on the matter. That I am crazy for insisting, and I am the one whose feelings are hurt for no reason. He will not validate my thoughts, feelings or wishes to improve our selves. Then more months went by and I told him he has to read or go to therapy, before he ruins our relationship because I feel disrespected. He tells me something along the lines of I shouldn't feel that way, it's my low self esteem. I told him that I have feelings and I feel hurt. That no one can tell you that another's feelings are not real. He won't apologize, believes he is not disrespecting me. I know he is depressed. He will not do anything about it. It is too hard for him to look inside and figure it out and deal with the loss of his 25 year old son. I can't help him. He only talks of superficial things and even that is an effort. There is no communication at all. No e mails, no text, no talking.

Why don't some professors reply to emails?

Three features (which often appear in the same e-mail) explain why I don't answer an e-mail: A) from someone I don't know, B) is too darn long, C) I'm not the right person to e-mail.Unknown PersonI have a duty to answer the questions of my students, my collaborators, and my peers.  For anyone else, I don't know them and thus I need to be careful in my reply because I don't know what they know or how they'll react to my e-mail style.  This uncertainty often leads to the e-mails getting ignored.  This is because I need to judge whether the use of my time is worth replying to the e-mail ...Too LongAnd it's usually not worth my time when the e-mail is really long and it's not clear what the point is.  If I have to spend 20 minutes reading and understanding an e-mail, I'd rather spend my time reading a new paper, which has been edited and composed well.I'm not the right personSometimes people e-mail me "opportunities" that I'm not interested in (I don't want to join a startup), clearly haven't done their research (no, I'm not a female asian librarian), or are just spamming every professor in the world (Dear Sir).  If it looks like spam and you don't know who I am (i.e., you haven't looked at my webpage to get the most basic information about me), I'm not going to answer.

Professor doesn't reply to email, should I email again?

I wrote an email to an clinical instructor of mine asking for a letter of recommendation 2 weeks ago. After a few day, she replied that she was unable to because the school does not allow part time staff to write LOR. She was very nice, and sincere as usual, and wished me well, give her update, etc.

So I thanked her, and let her know I'll be contacting my school program for further assistance.

After contacting school, turns out there's no such policy against that, there was a problem with a student before and maybe that caused misunderstanding. So I wrote back to the professor and updated her, and very politely asking her again if she would be willing to write a letter of recommendation?

it's been 5 days now, still no reply from her. I was surprised, because she was the most professional professor I've ever had, she's always VERY PROMPT whenever I email her. Out of all the professors I've had, she's the last one I'd think that would use the "not reply email" way to tell you that she doesn't want to write LOR.. I'd expect her to say it straight forward. and I wouldn't mind at all too..

I just don't know if I should take it as a hint, or should I try to email her again? or drop by her office (I don't know when she's in the office though :( I've graduated and it's hard to find out her hour)?

I really have a lot of respect for her, and never thought she'd not even reply, not even a "no".. *I did very well in her clinical, got As too.*

soo, what should I do? :( suggestions? should I email again? (WHAT SHOULD I SAY IN THE 2ND EMAIL?)
