What Makes my computer monitor go to power save or become pixelated.?

Ok I have a Dell pc. In the last 4 days in or out of use the screen will go blank and go directly into power save mode. I have changed the power save options to "never". To get the monitor out of power save mode I have to turn off all power to my computer and restart. I have to this sometimes 3 times in a row to get the monitor back. I have run the computer startup repair. After I get the monitor back up it runs fine. Sometimes this will happen every other day, and sometimes it happens 3 times a day. The fan seems to run loudly before shutting the monitor down. This morning, after a normal shutdown last night, as I turned the system back on, the screen came up pixelated, then shut off again. I had to reboot 3 times, and run the startup repair. I am NOT a computer expert lol. I have no idea what to do here. I have run extensive virus scans and there is no problem with viruses. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My computer beeps when I try to start it. The screen stays black. Is there any way to fix this without getting inside the motherboard?

Open your case and first get the dust out, with a brush or a compressed air can. Then re-connect all your visible wires, if you don’t want to go deep then only some that go to the front( to the power button), CPU, GPU and hard drive.Make sure your fan doesn’t have any dust.If this doesn’t do it, then interchange, or re-attach your ram, or change them if you can(if you have extra). If that doesn’t work, then call a computer guy.PS. If you have never opened an electronic (and closed it back safely), then probably you shouldn’t open it.PS. Click a photo of your wire connections before removing them.PSS*** Turn off the computer before doing anything.

Why does my computer screen turn green? How can I fix it?

If it’s hardware, several possibilities spring to mind:loose wire in the VGA cableloose/bent pin in the VGA connectorweak red or blue emitter gun (applicable to Trinitron tubes and the like)loss of the sync signal (on the green-gun wire)I’d start diagnosis by wiggling the cable at various points.

What is causing my computer to shutdown and restart?

The temperature of your graphic card and CPU is not the only thing that you should be looking at when you suspect overheating.

Anyway, Just by looking at your specs the problem might be your Power Supply. I doubt 600 W is enough for a such a system.

Why is my computer screen changing colors randomly?

To determine culprit:Step 1: Check the PC’s video output with another monitor. If the issue is solved, the monitor might have a problem. If not proceed to step 2 with original monitor.Step 2: Test monitor with another system. If the issue persists check another HDMI port. If the issue still persists go to step 3.Step 3: Try another HDMI cable, or try a VGA cable if you also have that available. If the problem resolves you had a bad cable. If the problem persists then we can be reasonably certain the fault lies in your computer, and not the monitor or the cable. You could be looking at a problem with your graphics card, but before concluding this there are a few more steps.Step 4: Check to see if your video card driver updated recently - if it has, roll back the driver. If the issue is solved then the driver update had an issue.Step 5: Verify Windows display settings. Check the adapter options under the Display Settings menu - verify the appropriate refresh rate and color settings are selected for your monitor.Step 6: Check advanced graphics card settings. For example with Nvidia cards you can access the Nvidia control panel by right clicking the desktop. Some really interesting color stuff can happen with the color depth settings found under the Display heading, Change resolution subheading. Windows sometimes changes the setting from 8 to 12 or vice-versa, and it turns the display into an LSD-fueled horror show. Personally I think this is your problem. Simply change to the normal color depth for your system (there shouldn’t be too many options here). If this doesn’t help you can check the color settings for the card.Step 7: Try updating the driver for the graphics card. Sometimes a driver update can resolve some weird problems.Step 8: Recalibrate the monitor settings. You can also see if booting into safe mode solves the problem. If you use an external GPU along with a cpu that has internal graphics support try using the CPU by plugging the display to the motherboard outputs. Note that you may need to enable this in UEFI/BIOS if you or the manufacturer set the computer to only use the external GPU.

What does a green screen on a computer mean? How do you fix it?

I have gotten a green screen… But not in the last 20 years. In my case, it meant that two of the three video cables got disconnected. I just had to plug it back in.If a VGA cable is loose you can lose one or even two of the signals (losing red/blue usually). If you lose the green signal you USUALLY get a black screen as the sync signal is included in the green. Oxidation on the connector can also do this - and the usual fix is to just unplug the cable and plug it back in several times. This scrapes the oxidation off (or at least out of the way) and the signals are restored. In other cases, it all depends on what you are doing.

My computer screen turns white randomly and freezes. What is the reason and solution?

I have previously faced a problem just like yours and I two cases can be there for your problem.First is the BIOS configuration may have corrupted in which I would suggest you to take your computer to its service centre, as playing with BIOS settings will only mess your computer rather than solving (if you are not an expert).Secondly, the power supply in your CPU (SMPS) would be having some problem, in that case take your CPU to a repair show, he will check the SMPS of your CPU and if needed then you can have it replaced which will take your PC back to normal. When there is problem in SMPS then your CPU doesn't get proper power supply and a lot of tasks start getting hanged up. In that case you have to replace your SMPS.I hope this helps.

Computer stuck at pre-boot menu?

My computer (Gateway, Vista) has problems coming out of sleep, sometimes needing to be rebooted. This last time however I've been unable to reboot even after removing the plug. The screen just comes up "BOOT Menu: BIOS Settings " It's laced with green vertical lines, sometimes flickering slightly.

However in addition to this, it won't register any devices connected to USB or the keyboard port. There is still power to USB drives, but most plug-and-play devices are not lighting up. The DVD drive can open but it will not boot from a disk (namely, my OS reinstall disk).

When it starts up it sounds like it's coming out of sleep even though it's coming on from no power. When I turn it off by power switch the light doesn't go off.

Any ideas what the problem could be?
Thanks.
