How can you tell if a motorcycle is seized?
You will not be able to rotate the engine. There are several ways to UN-seize it, but they can cause permanent damage if you’re not extremely careful. First try to locate cause of seizure. If engine has just sat too long, something has probably oxidized/rusted and may be lubed/freed carefully without disassembly. The usual culprit is piston rings stuck to cylinder wall, but can also be faulty bearing in engine or seizure due to overheating.Worst case, I think, is blockage or problem in combustion chamber i.e. bent valve or broken off valve head, etc. But even in this case, engine can be rotated, it just will not complete multiple rotations, or even 1 complete rotation.On motorcycle, put bike on centerstand or somehow elevate rear wheel, remove spark plugs and carefully try to rotate engine, look in spark plug holes for signs of internal damage(if there are any pieces in any cylinder, stop.) Engine will need to be disassembled and cleaned, repaired, checked.If not, rotate engine with bike in a hi gear, like 3rd–6th by turning rear wheel forward and backward, but if possible to rotate forward, that is best. If ring seizure from sitting is suspected, spray wd-40 or silicone spray, about half a teaspoon’s worth on top of each piston, let it soak for overnight, or at least a few hours, in attempt to free rings from cylinder walls with soaking, then rotating engine. Listen for any noise of loose internal pieces, especially if a complete revolution of engine isn’t possible, like if rear wheel rotates forward, but stops, then rotates backward same amount of rotation and stops, this would indicate a blockage in 1 or more combustion chambers.
How Do you fix a jammed kick start?
I have a TM Racing 125cc dirt bike. A BEAST! I was taking it up fast and the bike just cut off on me while I was haulin ***. then when I went to start it up my kick start was jammed it wont move down at all??? PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!! I need to ride again. Any info will help dont tell me if you dont have a clue.... I need one.

Allot Of Guessing here. Everyone needs more info. First you need to see whats stopping it. Is it a jammed piston (Hope not) or when you rebuilt carb did cylinder fill with gas because float stuck (that would do it) or is it just the kick starter itself jammed. Here's what I would do first. A) remove spark plugs, if gas or compression etc is in cylinder(s) it will no longer stop piston movement and will spray out of plug hole. Takes 2 minutes right. TRY IT AGain.... B) I assume you tried above and it didn't work. Leave plugs out and put bike in 3rd or fourth gear, Try to push the bike letting out the clutch slowly. Did engine turn, If so Its your kick starter..pull it apart. If Not, Then you either have a really bad jam between the kick starter and motorcycle engine/transmission or a stuck piston or crank etc. C) Try pushing bike in gear backwards slowly, Did it break free ? If so try pushing forward again. Still free ? If so try kicking over again a few times, did it jam. If its free when doing everything but kicking I would say you need to take kick starter apart, if it jams pushing then you have bigger problems and I would do anymore without tearing it down to see whats jamming.

So I can give a simple answerSimilar to reciprocating pump IC engine contains piston and cylinder ,in bike(commonly 4 stroke),during suction fuel air mixture is sucked into the cylinder,in next step we have to compress it ,here is where initially we need to provide force for compression ,thus during kicking the rotation of crank causes piston to compress and cause spark plug ignition and further power stroke is obtainedIn electric start ,a motor is used to cause the compressionUltimately our target is cause the initial piston movement from BDC to TDC.which can also achieved by shifting to lower gear from neutral while riding on a slopeNote:we only need to provide initial compression since once power stroke is achieved it provides energy for all other idle strokesIf found helpfulUpvote :)
