When Is The Best Time Of Day To Call A Retail Store Regarding The Status Of Your Job Application

How do you check a Walmart job application status?

You can always call the store an ask, but if you applied for a job position that was currently open at the time of your application, let me save you the trouble and say that you didn't get it.I know it defies logic but you actually cannot apply for open positions at Walmart because the application process is a little backwards. Here is how it works.Store manager or co-manager put in a request (req) for a position that detail what is open and how many people are needed.Thebjob is then listed as open in the application systemThe personnel manager drops the req and gets a list of people who have already applied for the job in the past 90 days. Those job applicants are called in and interviewed.Do you see the screwed up part. You have to apply for a job before it is open in order tonget an interview. I would suggest that you go back and apply for positions that you think you will like, regardless of whether they are open or not, and hope for they best. You could also just apply to be a cashier. Walmart always needs cashiers.Sorry for going anonymous, but Walmart has a social media policy, so sometimes I have to be careful what I say.

When is the best time of day to call a retail store regarding the status of your job application?

It depends on the store I guess. Ask around. Eg. people who work there or you know someone who knows....or take a walk around at different time each day to see when it is the busiest and slowest.

What do you say when calling to check on job application?

Don't call

Stop by between 2 and 4. There should be double management cover mid day and they won't be super busy.

Dress nicely, let them know you dropped off your application and ask if there is anyway you can set up an interview time.

Applications can get turned into anybody and there is a chance the manager hasn't ever seen it. If you want to guarantee yourself a shot, you need to stop by when the manager is there with some "free" time.

When I was a store manager, I would get hundreds of applications a week. I didn't usually waste my time because there was always somebody standing in front of me that I could talk to.

How many days after you fill out a job application should you call back?

I just finished filling out job applications for retail stores. I've always been told that you should call back after a couple of days to first check to see if your application has been processed, and then a few days later to check to see if they've looked at your application (they say this under the theory that the people who are responsible for arranging interviews will most likely remember your eagerness and then call you back for an interview.) Is this true at all?

If it is generally true, then how long should you wait before you call to ask at all about your application?

When do stores start hiring for seasonal help for the Holidays?

I would start dropping off applications and resumes by the end of September. Just be sure to specify you are looking for temorary or seasonal work. The holiday rush normally starts right after Halloween, but it may help to start a bit earlier. Some companies will hire you to start at a later date.

What to say to manager when handing in application?

well, theres not much u could say. just be happy, look professional, but dont overdress. most likely they will just take it and say thanks, we'll give u a call if nething. or they might as u some questions on the spot, like have u ever been in retail b4? since u havent, u can say something like, no i havent, but ... and list ur qualities and reasons why u r capable of doing the job despite your lack of any previous work experiences. say things they wanna hear, but be true, dont say something u kno u arent. but, if they dont call back within 2 wks, u call them up and request to speak to a manager. if they asks whats the reason, say u would like to kno whats the status of your application? den if the manager says that they're not finished looking at all apps, den say thanks and ask if they know when will they make a decision? but if the manager ends up saying that they're not hiring anymore or they have enough ppl, do urself a favor and ask the manager for the reason y u didnt get hired. it might sound dorky BUT listen, he's giving u his reason y u didnt get hired. take that constructive criticism and remember not to make that same mistake the next time u fill out another job app for someplace else. How should I follow up on a retail application?

I'm no stranger to the retail and food service industries. I have done plenty of call backs to check on the status of my application and to reiterate that I would like to interview for the position. However, as fortune would have it, of the 3 jobs I've worked in these fields (Quiznos, Wal-Mart, Pizza Hut), I never once called them. They got back to me almost immediately. Now though, I'm in a lull just waiting, and waiting, and waiting. I'm often tempted to call every day regarding my applications, but on the occasion that I do, I usually get the vibe that the manager doesn't even want to be bothered and regularly has the "Don't call us, we'll call you" mentality.

These are minimum wage gigs for which I'm applying. Why shouldn't I be tenacious? Or are things a-changin'? What advice do you have for following up on these applications?

I'm an international student. How can I find part time job in Australia?

I am an international student at Melbourne. At Australia , if you need to find a good part time job , you need reference. When i came to Melbourne i could not find any jobs in the initial days as i had no body to refer me.I started applying jobs in SEEK, indeed , Gum tree and so many other local job search engines. But i started getting rejection mails. Then i decided to go with my resume to the shops , petrol pumps and super markets. I was lucky enough that one guy whom i met at COLES (Leading Supermarket Giant) at Australia gave me his Team leaders number and i ringed him several times and finally i got a chance for the interview. Its since 8 months i am working for COLES.You can search jobs in online sites like SEEK , indeed , Gum tree. But personally getting a good paid job from these sites without reference is hard. so the best advice is to take a good resume and cover letter and to go and meet store managers in person and they will give you an opportunity to attend interview if they have vacancies. You can apply for certificates like RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol Courses) which can help you in fetching handsome paid jobs during some big events managed by Massive event management team(Atlantic Group Weddings.)Never get disappointed. I have few friends who could not find any jobs in the first few months , but when they got jobs the pay was super cool. The cash in hand jobs pays the lowest wage at Australia. Main part time jobs at Australia are as follows.Desktop analyst (Pay $20–35)Research assistantsUniversity jobs (Best Jobs)Supermarket(Coles , Woolworth ) , Pay ($19 -$21.9) basic. On Sunday's and public holidays it goes up to $34, $55 per hour.Car washWaitress/ Wait staffWarehouse(loading and unloading)Delivery driver ( Vic licence is required mostly)Uber eats Sign up to drive with UberCleaning jobsPetrol pumps ( 7-Eleven Good Call™)Small clerical potions. The wages starts from $10(cash in hand jobs ) and can go till $35 jobs which will come to your account via TFN (TFN Australia)All the best.Deepak
