If you manage your money well you can save some money. Don't waste money eating out, use the DFAC or go buy stuff at the commissary. In the barracks you only have to pay for phone, internet and cable. Don't go get a star card (military PX credit card) and buy a bunch of stuff you really don't need. If you are married don't count on getting base housing right away. Find a place off post under your BAH amount. Most of your first year of the Army will be in training. You have basic and then your AIT/OSUT. Depending what you pick determines how long your AIT is.

I went from being an introverted homeschooler who had never left home to even attend summer camp to college life in dorms. And as the icing on the cake, I moved 3,000 miles from the UK to Canada in the process.So culture shock, education shock, homesickness, and loneliness were all strongly present, especially in the first semester.However, despite all that, that first year was the happiest year of my life to date. I changed drastically as a person, which probably has to do with the culture more than anything.But what made it incredible (and don’t get me wrong, there were a lot of dark moments) was the people. It was the guys in my dorm who I bonded with, the friends I made all over campus that made that year what it was.I had never really had friends before leaving home, and this was the best possible thing to happen to me to change that.The first year of college can be a huge shock (as it was for me) or a fairly smooth transition. If you come from a large high school, and have taken advanced or higher level classes, then academically speaking you will do fine.The first three months (first semester) is the hardest, after that everything becomes fairly routine. You will meet more attractive and talented people your own age than you ever will again. The academic year for all BITSians starts on the 1st of August. As the first yearites are new to the campus, they are called 2–3 days before the registration day( registration day is the day Printable Calendar 2017 Templates where you make your time table of the courses). This is done just to get them used to the workings of the campus and are given an overview of the courses and the teaching methods. The academics start at the same time for all the year-ites..But first years have to come 4-5 days early to get admission, orientation and stuff.. 2013 is the first year since 1987 to have four different numbers ?
We all agree 1987 consists of 4 different numbers. 1,9,8, and 7. 1988 and 1989 won't work because the eight and nine are repeated, meaning the year couldn't have 4 different numbers. (1,9,8,8 and 1,9,8,9). None of the 90's will work because you would automatically have two repeating numbers (1990-1999). The same for the 00's. (2000-2009). 2010 doesn't work because of the two repeating 0's, 2011 doesn't work because of the two repeating 1's, and 2012 doesn't work because of the two repeating 2's. Making 2013 the first year since 1987 to have 4 different numbers.
Just how hard is the first year of marriage?
Ours was tough. We unexpectedly got pregnant 3 months after we got married. That caused a lot of tension, made for an interesting year. We had been together for 4 years before we got married and had been through a lot of ups and downs and thought we are on to smooth sailing once we got married. We made it through just fine and have a beautiful son who has added so much joy and love to our life and brought our family together in ways we could never imagine.
