Is it necessarily a bad thing to be a follower rather than a leader?
My debate teacher told me, "You are not a leader and tend to follow what everyone else is doing." Yes, I follow more than I lead, but I do have individuality. I can make my own choices and I'm stronger than she thinks. Is this a really horrid thing? I've always thought of having a lack of leadership desire is a terrible negative quality that will never get me to college. But really, I am much more comfortable being a follower who actively contributes to the group rather than a leader who has to decide everything.
What do you do/say when someone you care about calls you a liar when you are telling the truth?
Its pretty difficult to take this small but deep word “LIAR” on you when you have actually not lied. Talking about a person whom you really care about, it can simply be a good friend, calls you a liar makes the situation even worse.I am been through this and i felt sad about it. There is this friend of mine who used to call me a liar. Initially i took it as a teasing but when i asked her about it seriously then she was like i don’t call anyone a liar for no reason. This shook me away. I knew i didn’t lie but to hear her view was tears triggering.I got this feeling instantly that she looks up to me as a liar always maybe. Deep that was Deep that is Deep that will be. I am a bit image conscious and this just helped to feel sorrowful at a different level.I was really SORRY for looking like a liar which i was not but can’t help it in any way. I would suggest to let things be left into destiny’s hands. All i had ever said on such scenarios is “You will come to know about the truth one day but i hope its not too late by then...”
How many people follow their hearts & how many follow their minds? Why?
I try to listen to both.The key is to find a balance. If I listen to my mind too much, my emotions suffer. Everything gets stuffed down and logic rules, which means I sometimes end up hurting myself or others.But it's the same if I listen to my heart too much. If I let my emotions rule, I make bad decisions and act impulsively without thinking it through.The key is to find some kind of balance between these two pieces of myself, rather than blindly following either. I try to give room for both in my life, on a daily basis.
How do honest people recognize dishonest people?
As others said, we don’t.Only experience has taught me that a lot of people can’t be trusted. In fact, people can look very decent and still lie directly to your face without wincing.After I was fooled the first couple of times by people who wrote about their “life stories” on webforums, I am now not as easily fooled. I didn’t understand why anyone would feel the need to lie about their life on an anonymous webforum, but some people have a big need for attention. Nowadays, when I read stories too good to be true, I assume they are not true.One trick that can be used is to look for emotion in the person. I have learned that when a person has real emotions, they are honest. But if they don’t show genuine emotion, they could still be honest.If someone is telling a story that ought to elicit emotions, yet the person seems strangely detached for them, it is a sign that it could be a scam. There is at least one popular writer here on Quora that writes those kind of stories.Running a business, I have heard it all. All I can say that it is impossible to tell who a scammer is. One CAN tell when a person is thoroughly honest, but it is more difficult to tell when a person might be dishonest. A trick I sometimes use is to say: “I think you are bullshitting me”, or “I don’t really trust this is what happened”, or something like that. Honest people will often react emotionally and get insulted. They might get baffled or respond angrily with: “What do you mean!? Are you calling me a liar!?” A dishonest usually responds more calmly, apologetic: “No no, you can trust me, I would never fool you”, looking in my eyes and smiling.Not a fool proof method though.
How can anyone follow Joel Osteen? How can anyone not see thru him as a tin-plated snake oil salesman?
People just want someone to tell them what they want to hear, and that's what Osteen does. He never talks about sin. He's too concerned with his little self-help plan to preach the truth. And the worst thing is, people who listen to him believe that they are following Jesus... and maybe they are, to an extent... but there is SO much missing! People want to hear that God will make them rich and healthy if they just believe. But God is a lot more complex than that. In fact, in the Bible, it is the POOR who will inherit the kingdom of Heaven! I feel bad for the people who listen to him... they really don't know any better... I wish they would read the Bible for themselves!!

Do not listen to the people saying that "Scorpios only speak the truth....will not say something unless they mean it" etc... Every single person is capable of lying (obviously). In my experience, Aquarians have been by far the most consistent liars. But Scorpios (or the unevolved/bad ones I guess), can be VERY sneaky/deceptive and manipulative. This is true. They will say ANYTHING to get their way. That's good u call your friend out though - keep doing that when u catch him in lies.

Professional liars (actors) telling the world they support the ideas of professional liars (Socialist Democrats). Basically they have a stage and an audience, so they say whatever they want until the hook pulls them off the stage.
