In an ideal world yes they would, and I can tell you it’s a pain when you go to the effort of applying for a job and you hear nothing or you get the interview and then nothing.On one hand it seems so rude, after all you went to all that effort.Let’s take the two scenarios:you apply for a job you hear nothing back - normally what happens is that there are so many applications that they can’t reply to each one, so normally when you apply there will be a text saying “if you are a fit for the job we will contact you. If you don’t hear from us in 15 days you have not been successful.” Image how many applications they may get - there’s no way they could give a response to everyoneYou get the interview and you don't hear back. It could be that they don’t want to get into a conversation with you and you asking about feedback what could be improved etc. Thus rather than say anything they just say nothing.Sometimes the recruiter may give you feedback on behalf of the client (if you went to an agency)However by and large don’t expect a reply and just move on and realise this. Yes it is tough but once you get used to it, it won’t affect you so much
