What should you never say when you quit a job?

We live in a very small world. While quitting the job, you might be thinking this is the last day that I will ever meet my current boss and the last time I stepping in to this office. But life is always uncertain. I have seen people coming back to life in circles. Please refrain yourself from the below:Never pick a fight while leaving your job. It is in the human nature to forget all the good things and remember only bad things that has happened. You will remembered for leaving the organization with a bad taste in mouth. This can hamper your future employment as lot of companies rely on past employment checks.Balanced feedback in your exit interviews - your exit interviews are very important for the organization to improve. Keep your feedback balanced. Please also mention good things about the organization and how you have improved by joining the organization.Nasty email to your skip manager about your boss - It is fact that most people leave their bosses not organizations. However, I have seen people sending nasty emails to their skip manager about their boss behavior. You should sort it out while you are working with the organization. You will not be believed too much if you pick this up while leaving.Lacking of learning - Many of IT jobs available for a fresher is through large service companies and I have seen employees saying there is no learning in the organization, so had to quit. If you are a true intrapreneur , you will find the way out for your growth. My first job was with an ITES company of size 3000+. I managed to get 3 promotions in 3 years because of hard work.Complaining about amenities and infrastructure - while joining the company you would have seen the infra and amenities. But, why complain while leaving. You knew what you were getting into before joining but why complain why leaving? These are some of the common mistakes people do while leaving the job. Remember you are only leaving the job but not the people. Be in touch with your network and it will always help.

How do you quit a job when your mother in law is your boss?

whoa thats a tough one. tell her you found a position that will advance your skills and experience and be challenging and rewarding work. surely, she should be happy for you. ask your hubby for advice. he probably knows her well and can help you soften the blow when you tell her. you could also consult her first, and seek advice from her (use reverse psychology) so she thinks she suggested you take the job. eheh. Good Luck.

Should I quit the job that I hate?

I'm sorry to hear about your situation, it sounds like your job is really a source of frustration for you. I know how that can be and it is really a draining situation to be in. Do you feel that you have a really solid grasp on what you don't like about your workplace? This is important because it will answer a few questions for you:1. Is there something at my work place that I can change/fix that would alleviate a large source of my stress? For instance if after reflection your main paint-point is your boss, can you get on a different team?2. If I can't fix what is bothering me at my current workplace, would changing companies make a difference? If the answer is no, then perhaps there is something you fundamentally don't like about your career or chosen profession. Your goal now is to figure out what new direction you'd want to move in. Once you have a good grasp on what is at the root of what's bothering you, you'll be in a better position to do something about it, either fix it at your current company or know what to look for in a future opportunity. If you're not in a position to affect any change right now, for instance if there really are no other jobs out there, then how might you look at your current job as a learning opportunity? What can you learn about how not to lead, or how not to structure a team, or you can effectively work with difficult people, etc. View your workplace as a lab where your job is to experiment and learn as much as you can from it. Every opportunity/situation is a learning/growing opportunity when viewed in that light.
