When The Gop Gets Back In Power Will They Make The United States Government Strong Again

Why are Cubans in America strong GOP supporters?

The Cubans who came to the United States in the late 1950s aren’t like other Cubans, or even Cubans who came to the United States later on having escaped the island. Most of the people who fled Cuba in the late 1950s were the very wealthy - Cuba’s top 10%. They owned lots of property and capital equipment. They lived in real luxury while the average Cuban starved to death. Havana was a top destination for the rich Wall Streeter as well as the rich Hollywood star. They were often corrupt politicians who made a fortune by exploiting their office. Many were civil servants. During Prohibition, the liquor in Cuba flowed freely (and a lot of it to the United States where it was smuggled in).Say what you want about Castro but at least he was dedicated to his cause. He took land and distributed it to peasants, he confiscated hotels and turned them into apartments, he took over factories and handed them over to their workers. This was all very popular with most of the people in Cuba because they had no land, home or money. Now, not to say Castro didn’t screw up. The U.S. embargo hit them hard. It concentrated too much on cash crops like sugar that soon plummeted in value. Planned economies just don’t work and Cuba was no exception. The Cuban refugees fled to the United States and mostly settled in Miami. They were still fairly well off as many of them made it out with a little money. They also had a plan - overthrow Castro and get their stuff back. They backed anyone, Democrat or Republican, who promised to overthrow Castro and put them back in power. At least the old dictator Fulgencio Batista, didn’t think that was realistic and spent the rest of his days in extreme luxury living off of his personal fortune in the Dominican Republic. Now, almost all of the people who fled Cuba are dead now (or in their eighties) but they’re still well off - they’re business owners and professionals for the most part. They are not typical of Hispanics from the rest of the Americas who tended to come to the United States in dire poverty. Many of them are children of privilege. For example, many of the Bacardi family have lived in the United States and still run their rum empire out of Bermuda.

Does "Make America Great Again" mean going back to the policies of the 1950s?

Quite a few reporters and journalists tried to get an answer for this during the campaign. The Trump campaign organization did not answer this. But, trying to figure it out: It seems to be something like going back to what some white, middle-class people thought of as the good old days. You could get a job that you could raise a family on, prices were good, consumer products were available, the US got our way in world power, there wasn’t any crazy gays or LGBT people, and “those blacks” stayed quiet.Of course, that “good job” was Union supported, the economic policies were diametrically opposed to what the GOP wants to do, the rest of the world was recovering from a massive and terrible war, and anyone not white was ghettoized and ostracized. If you were a white man who was able to ignore everyone else’s problems it was a fine for you.If you cared about anyone else or were anyone else, then not so good.In short, this is a political slogan that’s made to appeal to some people’s emotions.

Will President Trump attempt to become a dictator?

It is possible but not probable. There a number of answers that say Trump can’t become a dictator because of the Constitution. However, when someone becomes a dictator of a country, they generally don’t stress about violating 200 year old documents. What actually would stop him is the people’s and specifically the military’s respect for the Constitution and the rule of law.As long as there are enough people in the government and the military who believe in the constitution and the rule of law, and they will not obey orders that violate the constitution or the law, then there will not be a dictator in charge of the US.That is why the Meuller investigation is so important. It is not really what the ultimate charges are as much as the idea that nobody, not even the leader of the country, is above the law. The people who are calling for Trump to shut down the Meuller investigation are not patriots. They do not love America because they are advocating for violating the constitution and everything the founding fathers created. There is also an answer to this question that mentions Trump can’t be a dictator because Americans own too many guns. That is a fantasy that the NRA, gun manufacturers, and the right wing push to give people a false sense of security. The reality is that if someone was powerful enough to be a dictator, then the respect for the Constitution and the rule of law would have broken down. The dictator would have the backing of the local, state, and federal police, as well as the largest military in the world. Some civilians with guns scattered across the 50 states are not doing anything against the forces that the dictator would have. There might be a couple of skirmishes where most of the civilians die, and a bunch of arrests and/or executions but that would be it. Eliminating the respect for the rule of law would be hard. Once that is done, overcoming the civilians who own guns would be child’s play.It actually makes me nervous that this has become such a strong belief on the right. If people believe that their guns will keep the safe, then it might be easier for them to disregard the need to respect the Constitution and the rule of law. The thing that they think is keeping them safe could actually be the cause of their problems.

Is Conservatism Really Destroying America?

Hi guys! Jameson Jakale here spreading the good word of Jesus again. I want to talk about the decline of conservatism. This generally means that America is being destroyed. However, the liberals will lie and say it's because of conservatives. Well excuse us for supporting the Constitution with our Bibles and guns. America was founded by Christians who wanted to escape English Islamic persecution. They clearly made it illegal to be a Muslim in our constitution. Now our government is denying us Christians our Constitutional right to deny Muslims access to the USA. Vote Trump to protect the Constitution and Christianity.

A question for Republicans: How did liberals get so powerful?

'Liberal' is the GOP codeword for anyone who disagrees with them.

See: 'John McCain'.

When is Mitch McConnell up for re-election? Does he have a good chance to get re-elected again?

Mitch McConnell, especially in elections, is political oddball.Mitch McConnell is a veteran senator, who led the GOP against Barrack Obama in an historical obstruction resistance in order to force Democrats to the right and to weaken their power. He is a powerful force in the GOP as a result and so losing him would weaken the GOP quite a bit. However, Mitch McConnell is an political oddball. This is due to many narrow and large victories in the past elections historically and his current approval rating. Let’s look at the Mitch McConnell’s senate elections in Kentucky:In 1984, Mitch McConnell won by a slim 0.4%.In 1990, he won by 4% which was a difficult reelection. In 1996, despite Bill Clinton winning the state, Mitch McConnell won by a fairly large 12%. This is likely due to a very effective campaign with numerous humorous ads.In 2002, Mitch McConnell won by 29%, the largest for a Republican to win in Kentucky history. In 2008, Mitch McConnell won by 6%, many attribute that his reduced margin was due to the economic meltdown and anger against Republicans in Kentucky. In 2014, Mitch McConnell won by 15%, despite this race being considered one of the most competitive in that election due to the polls. This shows that Mitch McConnell has an erratic record with him sometimes winning big and other times struggling but ultimately winning anyway.Mitch McConnell is also unique with his approval rating in Kentucky being very low at regularly being at around 40–10 disprove at approve making him one of the most unpopular U.S. senators. His erratic winning streak and extreme unpopularity makes this difficult to predict. Since senators serve six years terms, he will be up again in 2020, assuming he runs again. 2020 will likely be a good year for Democrats since they are the opposition party and thus increases Democrat turnout. This strong Democrat turnout allows for unpopular Republicans to be ousted by strong Democrat candidates. Due to this, I would say that Mitch McConnell’s chances are based on two things, his opponent and if he remains unpopular. If Mitch McConnell has a strong opponent and remains unpopular, then I would say that there is around a 50/50 chance that he gets voted out. If he gains popularity or ends up with a weak opponent, then he is likely to stay.
