What is the role of the artist when it comes to making the world better?
I would hate to use the word "role" because it implies and obligation and I am not sure that art works well when saddled with obligations. Artists work best when unfettered with societal conventions. However, I do believe that artists of all shapes and sizes do make the world a better place by expanding our personal, societal and world perspectives and visions. French philosopher and social critic, Marcel Proust, once wrote that "the real voyage of self-discovery consists not in seeing new landscapes, but in having new eyes." Artists are the new eyes of the world that allow us to see entirely new landscapes and possibilities. Too many humans behave as a universe of one instead of a world of interconnected people who do best when they meld their collective strengths and perspectives to create new outlooks. Artists remind us to see the world outside of ourselves. This is extremely valuable in a world filled with people trying to confine people's personal and world visions. Artists also remind us to create and creating is a fundamental human need. Too many humans are living passive lives through which they watch the world go by. Artists say, "get up, stand up, create your world!" One needs to be reminded of this message every single day.
What is it called when two bands come together and play two different songs and combine them?
The example I'm thinking of is Linkin Park and Jay-Z coming together for their Collision Course album. I could've sworn their was a word for it, like coalition or something...please help: )

Why don't I see Paramore and Panic! at the Disco together?
I've been searching Paramore and Panic! at the Disco images on Google lately 'cause I've never seen them do a song together, go on a tour together, talk to each other on social networking sites, interviews, videos, anything. I thought they were reslly close like Panic! and Fall Out Boy are. I mean, they're in the same record deal, similar genre.. Is there something wrong or controversy between them? Oh and please, don't say 'Why do you care?", 'It's none of your business', 'They're both emo fags', 'Well they can't always see each other, do they?' and all those other irrelevant ****. That's why I'm asking, TO KNOW, not to get your negative opinion. Thanks in advanced.

Beyoncé and Alicia Keys actually just collaborated for Alicia's album released in 2009. The song is terrible. It's called Put It In A Love Song. It's not a singing song. As far as I know, it is very uncommon for two female singers to collaborate anyway. That's probably because most songs are about love and sex and if you're going to collaborate with anyone as a female pop singer, it's going to be a male.

If she co-wrote the song, she will get license fees from every broadcast, concert or download. If the featured artist merely acts as a performer, he will usually get paid for each performance (plus extra fees for broadcasted performances) like a regular band musician.It is totally possible to arrange other deals and pay a featured artist for the opportunity to have his fans listen to your music. In that case you could think of the featured artist as a widely viewed TV series and you buy an advertisement spot for your music on it ;). Or it is the other way round: the featured artist actually pays the featuring artist to have his name exposed to a new fan base. There are no rules for these kinds of deals – it’s a negotiation thing.
