(Thank you, Sarah!)Therefore, these instructions will be for adding an image, or photo, to an Answer to illustrate what you are writing about.First, the picture you want to use has to be uploaded into your computer from your phone, or camera, and preferably as a jpg file, although a gif file will work, too.Next, decide where you want the picture to appear and click there at the left margin. That will hold the place for your picture insertion.On the top right, you’ll see a dark square. If you hover your mouse over it, it says, “Photo”. Click on it and then click on the word “Upload” at the top of the pop up.Find the picture in your picture file and double click on it. Ok, I'll run you through it. The message box at the top of the page will post n that page: ie, on the main page of a board will start a topic, typing a message in the box at the start of a topic you have clicked on will create a message in that topic. Click "Reply" to view and reply to a topic. Also, the best board is /b/ (Random), although it is not for teh faint of heart, with often quite shocking images, and appallingly racist comments.
How do you add a picture to a post on Reddit?
I was also irritated as to why Reddit (and other sites) would not pull the image I intended. Reddit (and others) look for tags on the page to tell it which image to pull. Facebook does something similar for how it selects the image of the article in question when there are many images on the page. The submitter has no control over what image is used, it is up to the web site developer to do it.
