When Will My Package Be Delivered To My Apartment

I accidentally sent my package to the wrong apartment, help?

I ordered a package from ThinkGeek a few days ago and using their cart, I checked out and went on my way. I moved very recently so I didn't really think about my shipping address being wrong. I check my tracking info this morning and it's on it's way. I'm very excited until I start thinking; "wait, did I use the right address?". Turns out, no I didn't. It still hasn't been delivered but I'm not sure who, if anyone is living in the old apartment. What can I do to fix it?
I tried using UPS.com for help but they best I could do was an email that likely won't get replied to until it's too late. I would depend on the possible new residents to do the right thing and refuse it (it not being theirs) but, it seems that never happens today.

How do I get a package if I live in an apartment?

If I was to order something online to have sent here, would it just be left by the door if I live in an apartment complex? Ive never ordered anything while living in an apartment before.

-Thanks

How does FedEx deliver packages to apartments?

I've had them deliver in two ways. For less expensive, uninsured items, the FedEx guy calls me from downstairs. If I answer the phone, he'll leave the package right by the elevator and it will be there when the elevator door opens.

For more expensive or insured items, the guy will wait for me to sign before handing it over to me.

If I'm not there when he calls, he'll leave a sticky note on my mailbox asking for me to reschedule a delivery date or to request that it be put into will-call (picked up from FedEx offices locally)

What if I'm not home when FedEx delivers my package?

Most packages do not require a signature and the driver will leave your package in an appropriate place: usually at the front door if it appears to be a safe place and especially if there is a roof or overhang to protect it. If it appears that the front door is seldom used, or it is not easily seen, the driver will leave it at the door where you are most likely to see it.If the package requires a signature, this changes things. If it requires an “indirect signature”, and if it’s ok with you for the package to be left in your absence, you can print out a “signature release” form from the FedEx website, sign it and leave it in a location where the driver can see it and take it (not on the inside of a locked storm door). The driver will take the form and leave your package. If there is no form, the driver will leave a door tag which you can sign and leave on the door for delivery the next day. You could also leave a note for the package to be delivered to a neighbor who will be home to sign.If a “direct signature” is required, this means that someone must be home - or able to get into your house legally (like leaving your house key with your neighbor)- to sign for the package in person. Sometimes, a “direct” signature also requires the signer to be 21+ years old (required for things like alcohol or munitions).

How does ups deliver to apartments?

They will come to the door. 9/10 times they will never leave a package on your door step at an app.(unless there is a signed note by the addressee to do so) They will try your neighbor, if no neighbors, then the manager. In any case, they will leave a notice on the door telling you where your package is. So if your worried about someone taking it, and not giving it to you, THEY will have signed for the package, the driver knows who has the package, and I have seen people charged for theft of a package seeing that everything is documented about the delivery of that package. So where most people know this- there is hardly ever a problem.

USPS said that my package is delivered at my front door/porch But I don't see the package. What do I do?

first you need to contact the post office assigned to your area ASAP just in case there’s a misdelivery it can be corrected if possible. The new scanner USPS use now has a gps tracking on it so if the carrier followed the proper procedure and scanned it in front of your doorstep they will see it in the system. Now if your package was stolen you can file a case the only issue here is package is if it is a standard mail the chances of you getting a refund is slim to none. USPS offers a variety of service that has insurance base or assurance base for example if the sender mailed using a certified mail the package requires signature by the addressee and can’t be released without the actual presence of the addressee.

Will the USPS deliver a package to my door if, in the address line 2, I say "deliver to front door"? The USPS sometimes delivers to my door if the package is large.

Carriers have to be quick and efficient. If you want it at your door but it fits in your box the carrier will be the deciding factor. If they strive more for efficiency they will bring it to your door. If they strive more for speed, they will put it in your box. Leaning one way or the other will make one of these qualities suffer. That is why most people get the wrong mail in their box because speed is the most prized quality in an employee.

If a package was delivered to the wrong house, are you legally obliged to give it back?

The best thing to do is contact the company who sent the package and explain the situation. Legally you should make every attempt to rectify the situation without opening it.Do not open it. Don’t throw it away.In our experience, if this happens, the company will usually pay for you to send it back or just tell you to keep it.When we moved into our new house, the previous owner had ordered a Black Friday deal from Kate Spade. When we returned from spending Thanksgiving with family, there was a Kate Spade package on our doorstep. Looking at the package, it was clear that it had been printed correctly by the company but then "corrected" by the USPS that routed it back to our house.Lesson: Always update your address when you move, kids. Please.Legally, we couldn't touch it, but our USPS also had a habit of send the letters we returned with a “RETURN TO SENDER” stamp back to us.We called Kate Spade who then told us to PAY FOR SHIPPING it back to them or hand deliver it to our previous homeowner ourselves, who didn’t live close to us. When we disagreed, management finally admitted the error should in no way cost us, shipped a new bracelet to the previous home owner, and let us keep the product in the package (turned out to be a bracelet).Another time, we ran into an issue with someone who was using our phone number and address as his own.We never or met the guy, so it was like a weird interruption of identify theft. Usually it was minor advertisements and such, but when "he" received a diabetes monitor (obvious packaging) at our house, we called the police. We filed a report on the situation (definitely not a mistake - why did he use our address AND phone number?) and were told to contact the manufacturer before doing anything with the package. We did, and again were asked to just keep it.(After the police report, we never had any more issues from the guy.)

My apartment complex office gave my package to the wrong person?

I got a notification from ups saying my package was delivered on the 6th. I went to the office and it wasn t there. I then decided to call the local post office (who was to deliver the package) and have them track it. They said the package was scanned in the office of the complex and the complex even has the package on their log sheet. So I m thinking they let someone else take my package. Is there anything I can do to make them either give me the money for my items or replace them?

Usps delivered my package to the wrong address?

That happened to me not too long ago. The people that you bought the item from will contact usps and if they cant find it they should send you out another package. They even put 1-3 day delivery on it. And it only took like a week for me to get my package so dont worry too much.
