When Will Washington Get Around To Doing Something To Bring Unemployment Down To An Acceptable

Can I get unemployment if I have a start date?

I am currently unemployed and am looking for work. Now if I get a job offer, but the start date is in the future (say a month or six weeks), can I still get unemployment in the meantime or do I have to stop receiving it? FYI, I live in Washington State, but would also be curious about other state laws if people have info to share.

Would an unemployed person have trouble crossing the US border?

Sure.

US Border Services can deny entry to any non-American without reason. If they suspect that you intend to work illegally in the United States, commit a crime, not leave, etc. they can and will deny you entry.

Everything is a case-by-case basis and it is extremely hard to figure out what triggers agents to suspect this. Age, travel patterns, having a significant other in the United States, traveling on week days, looking poor, having an obvious health condition, having household goods in your vehicle, having been stopped previously, traveling with someone who was stopped, driving extremely long distances, staying a long period of time, etc. will all likely increase the chance. At times it is also simply completely random.

If they do suspect they may start asking for proof of finances, travel medical insurance, and proof employment or schooling back in Canada, or some type of proof of a home, family, etc. which would mean you need to return to Canada. If you have been stopped and questioned previously or are worried, make sure you have travel medical insurance, a valid credit card and possible a bank statement, and some proof you are paying rent or have a residence.

There is nothing which says they must deny entry to someone on EI or who is unemployed -- many tens of thousands of unemployed retired Canadians live in the US. It is whether they suspect that you are going to try to work illegally.

Does unemployment call employers to verify work search log?

I received a letter from ue last week for a job search audit. Naturally, the week they are auditing is one that I lost in a move. I was able to reconstruct that weeks job search from email correspondence, but, as I applied in person via resume, I don't have any confirmation emails or the like. I'm fairly sure I have the right dates, but I'm worried if unemployment calls the employers I have applied with, I may have an incorrect date for an application. My question then, is does ue call to verify with employers?

I am absolutely terrified of being denied benefits, or accused of fraud.

I know people abuse the system, that's why they need to do audits in the first place, but I'm really stressed that this stupid mistake could cost me my benefits... I dont want them to think I am one abusing the system.

My interview is friday the 9th, I would really appreciate any response before then.

Thank you.

P.S. It's Washington state unemployment, if that matters.

Does a misdemeanor go away? How long does it take?

How long do you have to list it might be a better question. They don't go away. After a certain period of time they are simply not relevant. A misdemeanor a year ago is certainly more ‘serious' than that exact same misdemeanor ten years ago.How long does it need to keep being brought up? That depends on a particular job and its requirements and how the question is asked. But it's always there unless dismissed or expunged or pardoned if someone wants to dig that far and deep into the past.

Is Donald Trump the greatest President in the history of mankind?

Donald Trump May very well go down in history as one of the great presidents. He has accomplished great things in a short time so far. The intense opposition to him by his political opponents is testimony to his great success. Our economy is booming. We had the now famous "Trump Bump" in the stock market on the morning he was elected. We also have a business/job friendly administration for the first time in eight years driving high consumer and investor confidence. Trump has eliminated 30% of costly regulations on business, a very important act to stimulate growth and jobs as over one million new jobs were created on Trump’s watch during his first year. We now see the lowest unemployment in over 50 years and the lowest African-American unemployment ever recorded. GDP growth up to 3%, our debt to GDP ratio is down 1% and we see the fastest wage growth in 9 years. The number of people receiving unemployment payments is at a 45 year low and there are 1.5 million fewer people on food stamps than just a couple years ago. The Tax Cut and Jobs Reform Act has passed allowing 95% of taxpayers to keep more of their own money and incentivizing jobs and growth. There was a surplus of tax receipts already in April 2018 as a result of Trump’s tax reform, the highest monthly surplus in history. Unemployment payments are at their lowest in forty-five years and GDP reached 4.1% in July, 2018, highest in many years. During 2018, real wages increased for the first time since the 1970s. On foreign affairs China is cooperating for the first time ever on North Korea and North Korea is talking to South Korea. ISIS is defeated in Mosul, Raqqa and Rawa and on the run in Iraq and Syria. ISIS has lost 98% of their territory lost during Trump’s first year. Trump has a great start after little more than one year in office. In October, 2018, the United States was named the world's most competitive economy by the World Economic Forum (WEF) for the first time in 10 years. All of that said it is much too early to ask this question.

DO YOU LIKE PAYING TAXES so our money is misappropriated to scumbags?

I don't like paying one cent to those communists in Washington.
