When You Enlist In The Marine Corps How Many Days Is It Before You Go To Boot Camp

What happens after marine corp boot camp?

After you graduate USMC boot camp this will happen..

-You get 10 days of leave. These ten days are not open to debate. They are mandatory and every Marine will take them.

-After your 10 days you report to the school of infantry(SOI). If your job is NOT infantry, you will do 1 month of MCT, or Marine Combat Training. Then immediately after this you go to your schooling. Once your schooling is done, you are sent to your first duty station.

-If your job is infantry, then you do 2 months at infantry school. Once done you are sent to your first unit.

If you enlisted as a reserve Marine, then after your schooling you go home and do the weekend warrior thing.

Leave after Marine Corps boot camp questions?

Hi Im joining the USMC and I have a couple of questions, Marines with Infantry MOS get 17 days of leave after boot camp or the regular 10 days? I ask because one of my buddys got 17 days when he came back from Parris Island.

The other question I have is can Marines go overseas during their leave? I ask because pretty much my entire family lives in Venezuela and Id like to go visit for a few days after boot....

How long was US Marine Corps boot camp during the Vietnam War-era?

It was 12 weeks, then 4 weeks of Infantry training, then leave then to a school of your MOS, then Jungle school and off to Vietnam for 13 months of paid vacation in Southeast Asia.

Can you quit the Marines while in bootcamp?

You cant just say "I quit" because that will cause you tons of pain..But what you can do is just sit there and don't move..You need to pout and they will get the idea and you will be sent to the loony doctor to be evaluated..

You don't join and then choose to quit because it got to tough for you..You quit because its not for you..they wont let you quit but if you don't belong there they will boot your *** out.

The penalties are that you have to live with this for your entire life..

And it is spelled "CORPS, and not core..

Can I get married after the MEPS, but before Boot Camp for the Marine Corps?

General rule of thumb for the military:Tell someone before you do something big. If you’re unsure if it’s big enough, you should probably say something.Getting married isn’t against any rules, but it’s highly inadvisable. The divorce rates are staggeringly high for junior Marines. Upwards of 80–90%. I don’t have statistical data to support this, only empirical. If you’re dead set on being married, mazel tov - but understand that for your first year or two in the USMC, your life is going to suck. And that presumes you don’t deploy as you hit the fleet.I’m not telling you to not get married, but I’d suggest to wait - and see how your potential spouse (and you) deal with being separated for months at a time. Often times without meaningful communication. You can get sent on a MEU, and then get extended in theater and not go home for 9 months. You can get unaccompanied orders to Okinawa and be separated for a clean year.Your job may have you 12 on 12 off, (which is really 14 on, 10 off). Finally, unless you’re accustomed to this level of stress, how you deal with it will impact your marriage profoundly.Good luck.

How long does it take to go to boot camp after enlisting?

It all depends on you. Don't let your Recruiters fool you into thinking it has to be right away. I've seen people enlist, then ship to Basic a year later. However, I've also seen others ship within 3 days.

You can't control the exact day you leave (it comes down to your MOS), but you can request a certain amount of time before you go. You simply have to give a good reason.

Just remember, don't sign that final contract at MEPS until you're happy! You aren't officially in until that moment.

EDIT: Although, if what you mean is how long it takes after the asvab, physical, & the great signing away of your life...it generally takes a week. During that week you'll be issued your uniform, shoes, etc, & get your shots. Then it's off to the real training. ;-)
