When You Voted For Hope And Change Did You Hope It Would Mean The Government Would Use The Irs To

Why doesn't the IRS just send us a tax bill instead of having us do our own taxes?

Because that would be an unapportioned direct capitation, which is expressly prohibited by article one, section 9, clause 4 of the US Constitution, despite the 16th amendment, which did not change the taxing power of Congress (or, by implication, the lack of such power).Keep in mind that the 16th amendment stated Congress has the power to “lay” and to “collect” income tax - it did not give Congress the power to directly impose such a tax.“Lay”, when defined as a verb would be defined in a 16th amendment context as “to put down” - if a common use definition is used. Furthermore, if a legal definition of the verb “lay” is used, it means “to state or to allege”. See Bouvier’s Law Dictionary, 5th Edition. In other words, the 16th amendment recognizes Congress’ power to make pretend the law is something other than what it is while putting it down in front of us - but, it does not give Congress the power to impose the individual income tax liability on us directly unless it is on our federally privileged earnings.Likewise, the 16th amendment allows Congress to “collect” individual income tax - but, that only happens with respect to taxpayers with earnings from exercising federal privileges OR those who have non-federally privileged earnings AND who have already agreed to be bound by the individual income tax in that context via their self-assessment on their 1040.If the 16th amendment really was intended to create an obligation for all Americans to pay income tax on their non-federally privileged earnings, it would have dispensed with the “lay” and the “collect” - and just used “impose” in their place. ←- They couldn’t do that because of article one, section 9, clause 4 of the US Constitution. It’s also the reason they don’t define the word “income” to conform with their various BS concerning its meaning, which, thanks to Jason Lee Wilson, can be quite easily and simply stated as “Income includes all earnings from all labor, whether private-sector or public sector, and whether earned by right or earned by the exercise of privilege, federal or otherwise.”

What does ACH funding date mean?

I checked SBBT regarding my tax return i efiled thru Turbo Tax.They get the refund from the IRs,deduct the fees for Turbo Tax,and send refund to my bank. When i went to SBBT website, you can enter your personal info and it will tell you is SBBt got the refund from the IRS yet?It says this."Your ACH funding date is 2-1-2011.Does this mean this is when SBBT is going to deposit it?

If only taxpayers voted then who would win the election?

Some people have obviously confused filing a tax return with paying taxes. When your employer takes out for federal withholding tax, but you get it all back at the end of April, then you didn't pay taxes.
And that's what Romney and others are referring to when they say that 47% don't pay Federal Income Tax.
It's the truth.
Unfortunately, most people have no idea about taxes.
In the early days of the country, you couldn't vote unless you owned property. While some will view this as favoring the rich, others would note that , in the early days of the country, if you didn't own property, then why were you here? How could you possibly have the best interest of the country in mind, when you have no part of it?
Of course things have changed by now. But it does seem strange that people who don't pay taxes have a say in what those taxes are spent on. It's kind of like going to dinner with 100 people, and only 1/2 are paying. Yet the non-paying 1/2 still get to decide what everyone else eats.

My friends don't want to vote because they think a single vote will not change the fate of government. What should I tell them so that they go and vote?

A2A.Tell them it's not a single vote but it's a single mentality. I believe your friends are literate. Still our country has not achieved 100% literacy rate. It's like a crime if they don't go and Vote. Its a duty of every citizen of our country to vote and encourage others to vote. It is one of our constitutional right. There is a reason why every Indian gets this as his/her birth right and you have got no reason to not exercise this right. For instance, let's say your friend is denied of his/her right to vote citing the reason they belong to some lower caste, economically backward, Black skin etc. So he cannot equally enjoy the society like others do. They maybe denied to enjoy a formal education, maybe denied to buy a piece of land, maybe denied to enter a restaurant you go daily, maybe denied to apply for any govt or private jobs just because he doesn't have the right to Vote which eventually means you are not the citizen of this country. How deprived will they be after listening to these reasons? Seriously these people will not be treated equally in the society. You ask this question to a refugee who seeks asylum in our country. Ask a Pakistani woman and her family who was denied an Indian citizenship after living in this country for 10 years with the hope they may get the citizenship someday but asked to revert to Pakistan back immediately. They will tell teach them the importance of this right.Advise them to not to take this right to vote for granted. It is a proof which tells them they they are the citizens of this country, they are independent, they are allowed to travel anywhere under the tag Indian, they can question the government. Without this they will be treated like animals in this very country. If they have been granted this right without showing any fight doesn't mean it's not worth. There are certain things in life which would be offered free and you can't buy once you lose. If they still don't understand the value of this right, they will never ever understand unless they lose it.

What exactly does being conservative mean?

THAT’S ABOUT RIGHT

(1)

Being politically conservative is, pretty much, just as you have described it.
However, there is nothing ‘wise’ about being conservative.

Conservatives aren’t exactly anti-science.
They got that reputation because of their opposition to stem-cell research.

As you may know, stem-cell research has provided treatments for disease.
Conservatives oppose stem-cell research because they say that it “kills babies”.

(Well now, how wise is that?)

(2)

Conservatives mostly vote for the Republican political party.
They do so because that party reflects the traditional values that you refer to.

Unfortunately, that party also has the agenda of funneling gov’t money toward
the rich. They don’t even try to conceal it anymore.

Conservative voters are stuck in a crummy place in which they must
support the Republican party because of its ideological agenda
(anti-gay, anti-abortion, old school, etc.) while these voters must
ignore the fact that the Republican Party is an elitist group that
supports the rich (with our tax money).

Conservative voters find incredibly creative and ridiculous arguments
to support this action (of feeding the rich elite) by the Republican party
and it is actually quite sad that these voters do so.

(3)

Obviously I’m a democrat. But notice that no republicans spoke up
here to tell you that your description of them was wrong.

(4)

Why so many conservatives in the US? Parents passing the ideology
down to their kids from one generation to the next.
