Do evil thoughts make you a bad person if you don't act on them?
Everybody is right from his perspectiveI feel that everybody is right from his perspective atleast at the time of his action. even a murderer feels that he has killed because of some genuine reason. so he might be bad from others point of view but he has justification for his crime. He may realize his crime later on which is a different thing.Repititive Bad action definitely makes us a person bad.If a person is sure that his thoughts are not right and he doesn’t act on them then he is not a bad person. Acting once on them also doesn't makes him bad because there might be some situations & people who have influenced him to do so.But regular doing of that act definitely makes him bad and he gets entrapped in a vicious cycle and addiction too. If we do something wrong unknowingly then it doesn’t makes us a bad a person. But doing even right thing with wrong intentions makes us bad.Dont label anybody as good or bad.We should also accept the fact that nobody is 100% good or 100% bad. We all are humans with unique combination of Strengths & weaknesses. Most of us are perfectly normal with a set of strengths and flaws. Secondly the definition of Virtue & evil is very subjective and it varies from person to person, from society to religion, from country to age etc.Comparison of mind and unused land.Lets compare our mind with a piece of land. If a land is unused then the weeds naturally grows on it. We first need to wipe out them and plant useful flowers, trees etc. later on. Now we need to water them, nurture them, use pesticides etc to get the flowers and fruits.Similarly evil & negative thoughts comes naturally to all. If we don’t do anything then it will keep on growing. So we need to control and wipe them out with meditation, prayer, discipline, exercise, good company etc. Now we should feed our mind with positive thoughts, motivational videos, good books etc.
Why do people use religion to justify evil and wrong doing?
Ok I was raised by a christian mom and a muslim dad and people complain that I don't align myself with any religion but through reasearch I see that so many bad things come from organized religion espically them using to justify things that I don't find right. Like with the current thing with muslim terrorist they truely belivie it's the will of god that they punish americans, etc etc. But it's not like this is the first time this has happend with relgion. They used it to justify the proscutition and murder of jews. They used it to justify the murder of native americans. They used it to justify discrimnating against black ands slavery. They used it to not allow other races into preisthood. They use it now to judge other people even in todays time like homosexuals. I see a pattern. Do I have any right in this at all? The only reason people changed some of these because of changingn times, so how could it change unless recent relavations. it doesn't make since to me, anyone?
What do you think about the goth subculture?
I am among the people that are called gothic’s. And the meaning of "gothic" differs from the person who is being asked. To me it's a way of expression and how one chooses to see the world and among other things. And I also would like to know why people think its bad/evil. And if you ask any person who is Goth or really understands it they will tell people that doesn’t have any thing to do with the devil at all but on the other hand people who really doesn't understand might end up asking someone calls them self Goth/Darkwaver but say that she/he worships the devil and that’s what being Goth is all about. And to me those r bunch off mindless people who listens to Marilyn Manson and starts worshiping the devil because he sing about it. It just seems right after the Calumbine High School incident that the Goth/Punk subculture seem to really be getting a bad rap and it's really bugging the hell out of me. And I really think this organization called “Goth Against Hate” is really helping.
My brothers agonstic and ....?
First, God did create a perfect world. It was sin that wrecked it. Secondly, If we look at the world, it generally says "I am self sufficient and don't need God," or "God you can intervene but on my terms, I still wan't my sin" or "God doesn't exist". God, who gave us a free will says you don't wan't My help, you don't want Me, that's your choice. Your terms will kill you and those around you, I will not help you do that." Don't blame God for mans' problems.
How do you survive a really bad teacher?
It sounds like these are angry people, not necessarily bad teachers. The best you can do is tell your guidance counselor and encourage your friends to do the same. If the counselor gets too many complaints on a teacher they are required to tell the principal and he/she will handle it. It's the principal's job to be sure that the teachers are able to build stable relationships with students. If they are not, he needs to help the teachers become more approachable. If it doesn't work, the principal will have to ask the teacher to leave since the students are afraid of him/her. Also, if the counselor ignores your plea, go directly to the prinicpal.
I hate my riding instructor...?
It's true and time to face it, I feel bad being around her, she always shouts and she's cruel towards horses... I am not immature or anything so please don't tell me that. I am pretty advanced rider and compete in many shows so I can't just give up riding, and I live in a small community with only two riding schools nearby. The other one is more professional and the instructors are really kind. But I am not moving farm because of the friends I made here and it will feel weird competing against them. So I just try to ignore my instructor but it feels bad doing it :( What can I do?
