Can't hear audio from streaming videos?
I am having problems hearing audio from streaming video services (youtube, megavideo, dailymotion, etc). Whenever I try to watch video, I could not hear the vocal or dialogue part only the background sounds like musical score or sound effects. I'm using a HP slimline pc running Windows Vista basic, have all web players installed and are updated. I tried doing the same with an old pc and it worked fine, it ran on XP. What seems to be the problem? Thanks!
Roxio Game Capture Video Wave crashes when I add background audio?
I recently installed the video editing software for my Roxio Game Capture HD Pro and everything works except for adding background audio. The capture card does not record my voice while I'm playing so I figured I would use Sound Recorder to record it while I play and then just overlay my voice after recording the video. The problem is that whenever I click the "Add Background Audio" button the File Explorer appears but a message immediately pops up saying "Videowave has stopped working" and then the program closes. I am using a Toshiba Satellite A665(64 bit) with a Core i3, and Intel HD Graphics. I have Windows 8 and the program would only install when I used the Windows XP Service Pack 3 compatibility mode(if I didn't do this the installation would roll back when doing something with DirectX 9). I have attempted running the software with Game Booster Razer and also after installing a patch from October 2012 and restarting a computer but it still crashes when I try to add audio. Any Ideas?

What applications do you have running in the background? It sounds as if your player is not getting sufficent CPU time hence when it keeps playing 'catch-up' when CPU time is available. HTH

Does YouTube stream the video when the browser is minimized, or does it just stream the audio only?
If the browser is minimised and you hear the audio of the clip you are downloading/ Youtube is streaming the whole information, the audio AND the video information of the file. They are BOTH integrated in the file and in order to play just one part (audio or video) you have to download the whole and decode localy the part you are interested.
Does listening to YouTube Music in background play (without video) consume less bandwidth than with video?
No.Last year I talked to my 15-year old daughter about how on Earth she managed to repeatedly max out her monthly 30 Gb data plan on her cellphone in 2-3 weeks. Turned out she used youtube (or rather some third-party youtube player that allows background play) for music listening, pretty much around the clock. She thought, that when only listening to the audio, the data usage couldn't be that bad. Wrong.I convinced her to start using Spotify in stead, now her monthly data consumption is more like 2-3 Gb.
What the HELL is wrong with my streaming video?!?
Alright, this is extremely confusing to me. Sometimes (very rarely), my streaming videos will play perfectly fine with no problems at all. Most of the time it drags, plays choppy, or otherwise is just extremely lame. My audio works just fine, and the video seems to buffer and load quickly enough. I've run the ccleaner to clean junk files and the registry, I've run anti-virus software and come back clean each time.. Suppose I could give a bit of information on my computer.. I'm running a Dell Latitude D800 that I installed a brand new 160 GB Hard Drive onto a few days ago. For graphics, Nvidia Geforce4 4200 Go is what I've got. I've disabled hardware acceleration, and that doesn't work. I've killed any un-necessary programs that are running in the background, there is tons of space left on the Hard Drive.. And still my video playback lags like hell. At one point earlier this evening, I began watching a movie and was surprised that it was playing great.. But about 15 minutes into it, the video playback became choppy and lagged, while the audio was as good as ever as well as the buffer/load speed. So... Can anybody tell me what the hell is wrong with it?!
