Where Are The Good Contacts For Actors To Network Sites Castings Pages

Is Page Parkes Center of Modeling and acting a scam?

I'm guessing your in Houston TX (or around the area) since Page Parkes seems to do most of it's scouting around there.

Page Parkes is no different than Barbizon, JRP, Millie Lewis, Cassablancas or any of the other modeling schools out there. They want to sell you classes - not becuase they're interested in your talent but becuase they want your money.

I've been in the industry for 8 years now and I've not met a single model who's been taken by these kinds of companies who felt the overly inflated prices they paid were worthwhile in the end. Save your money, pass on these guys and find good reputable people to work with instead.

Any company passing as an agency who wants money up front for anything is a scam. If you're interested in modeling and really would like to get started visit OneModelPlace.com - it's a huge online community for the industry. You can network, find photographers in your area (some of which will help you build a portfolio for free) and depending on your area you may even find jobs there. Best of all, for models, it's free to join. As with anything on internet, DO YOUR RESEARCH! Check references before working with anyone and always bring someone with you to any shoot.

What is the process of getting into a Bollywood acting career? Will there be any auditions for that?

Of course there are Auditions - just like there are interviews for a job. Well even if you get an Audition, what will you do with it? For e.g. if I get you an interview at AIIMS, will they select you as a doctor? Or do you consider Acting as a non-professional career?[EXCERPT] Vineet Raj Kapoor's answer to How can I get entry in Bollywood? You could enter Bollywood more easily as a non-actor. The stakes in Acting are very high with a horde of filial attacking the gates. The other gates can be pretty empty and give you an easy access. Try those gates. Production is one great gate to try, it requires regular hard work so most creatives shy away from it, then sound, script writing, and editing are some areas which are always short of good people. Yes, payments may not be as exciting as acting but then you soon become an insider, so you can get into the zones you like later. You could start with a course at FTII Pune or if you are not wanting to get into the competitive exam stuff, you could opt for private sector institutes like ICE (backed by Balaji) or Whistling Woods (backed by Mukta Arts). You can look at editing, direction, production, script writing, modelling, vfx, or animation just to get your foot into the door (the door is a trifle wider in technical paths), and many actors use it to get closer to the directors/ producers. My experience says that if you're going for a skill based careers like acting, degrees are not much help unless it gives you a huge practical exposure. Too much theory kills the skill, too less theory leaves you half a man.If you want help, then mail me at but do mention your name, age, address, mobile, email (in case you sms me at ). How can I find acting auditions without an agent?

I've always wanted to act but I don't have experience. By the way, I'm not talking about theater because I cannot sing. I mean film acting. I think I'm very good at it but I have not been in classes or whatnot. How can I find auditions? Do I have to have a resume or agent if I go to an audition?

How do i get into acting in denver, CO?

Once a week, there's a full listing of open auditions. If it's been awhile, you may want to hit some classes and workshops (also in the newsletter). Be prepared to take a backseat in the chorus (or other bit part) until you get a beefier and more up-to-date resume.

I am a stand-in for the main cast in a Hollywood movie. What opportunities can come out of it?

Congrats!Networking. Contacts. Experience. Exposure, Excellent catering, and great stories to tell.  You have a great privelege to be in the inner sanctum of movie production.  Right close to actors, cameras, director, crew and sets.  It can be a real buzz at times and then long periods where nothing seems to be going on and noboby seems to know what the delay is.  It is just how it goes, a massive logisitics operation can be stalled by a whole bunch of things you will not be able to see. It is unlikely that you exposure will lead to anything directly but networking can never hurt.  A bit of on set protocol is to not talk to the director unless specifically asked a question.
