Where Are The Middle East People In The Philippines From

Why do Filipino people live in the Middle East?

This seems like an anti-Filipino question…. I hope it is not. They go there to work.Wages in the Philippines generally range from Low to miserable. AEven with a degree, many medical professionals simply earn 4 or 5 times the amount working in the Middle East as at home. Among those without an education, even housemaid or laborer or unskilled work abroad pays more than they could ever earn back home. Here is the downside: many, many OFWs are routinely exploited in the Middle East. My wife was in Abu Dhabi for 23 years. In all of those years she never once, NOT A SINGLE TIME, received everything due in her contract. The moment she arrived, her passport was confiscated (and before any Emirati on here starts quoting the law to me…. It sure as fuck does not matter what the law says. It still happens.) Add in attempted rape by her employer, attempts to force conversion to Islam, and generally being treated as lower than an animal, and you get the drift. She was lucky…. She managed to work her way into a secretarial job. Many more are not so lucky. Here is where I skirt the limits of BNBR.I have seen work camps in the desert. They are not nice places. The conditions for workers are deplorable. Their workday schedule is deplorable. They work for low wages and are routinely exploited by their employers. Don’t like it? Too bad. There are 100 more ready to take your place. Of course, there is no free press there, so none of this is ever reported to interrupt the Dubai tourism commercials showing how wonderfully the place pretends to be.No. It is all smoke and mirrors… nothing more.I have zero personal respect for the nationals in the Gulf. They have become lazy, spoiled, and unable to wipe their own asses by themselves. So they pay Filipinos, or Indians, or Bangladeshis, or Pakistanis to wipe their asses for them. This has nothing to do with Islam. I work in many Muslim countries and they do not act like that. All of the UAE, Bahrain, etc with the glitzy buildings and asinine engineering projects was build by western engineers on the backs of virtual slave labor. The locals just paid the damn bill.

Why do many Middle Eastern people abuse Filipino domestic workers to the point that they were being brutally killed?

Like thousands of other families across the Philippines, many Filipinos are going to abroad as a domestic helper just simply to sustain their family needs, travelling from poor countries to richer ones to work in private households. Their families struggle to keep their children in school, and to give sufficient food. There are now 53 million domestic workers worldwide, including in the Middle Eastern Place. Recently there is one Filipino maid was found frozen in her employer’s apartment, it’s more than a year after she was reportedly missing, the employer were found guilty and arrested in Damascus, a Syrian employer who was residing in Kuwait, and their victim is 29-year-old which allegedly showed signs of torture before they killed, of course not all of employers same like them, the couple has a mental disorder that they think that poor Filipinos was an animal, employers who has mentally ill are normally doing this to others.

What do most people think of the Philippines?

All too often the Philippines is generally associated with natural disasters, insidious corruption and poverty. Disappointingly, the country only survives by exporting around 27% of its working population elsewhere. Without cost effective labour from the Philippines, many countries in the Middle East would struggle to function while the global healthcare and maritime sectors would be struggling to find credible English speaking nurses, carers and shipboard crew.In a region where many countries have risen above their original deprivation, the Philippines is still a long way from resolving its issues. Commendable rates of economic growth are dented by high birth rates which are encouraged by a backward looking religious elite who serve themselves before their country.Leaving aside attractive women and beautiful scenery all if which the Philippines has in copious amounts, when I think about the Philippines it is with sadness. Sadness for a culture that encourages slavish devotion to ritualistic worship that died out many hundreds of years ago in other parts of the world when logic and science replaced blind faith. Sadness that many kind and well meaning people are destined to suffer exploitation and subservience because of the poor choices made by their peers and leaders. Whilst there is always hope that the Philippines can become the next Singapore, it would be a brave man who would bet on a country where people still cannot get divorced, and where the only truly successful institution financially and in terms of its grip on popular culture is the church.

Do people in the Middle East take an afternoon nap, like a siesta, when the day becomes too hot to work?

I only can speak for the UAE and the rules here. Work is going on here almost around the clock. But every working place inside has air conditioning. The business hours in the malls are on "normal" working days from 10am to 10pm. Smaller stores might stay open until 2am. Here "siesta" is not known.
There is only a law that forbids construction companies to have their workers working outside during the peak hours during 3 month summer time from June until August. But - it's hot all year long!

Take care.

If some say that Philippines existed 2000 years ago then did Philippines exist 2100 years ago?

Philippines has existed even since the start of the world. The only difference is that it is part of a larger continent until tectonic plates started moving and countries started to exist. Philippines was only named Philippines by Spaniard but geographically, it has existed way before that time together with all the other countries.

Did the Far East in the Bible refer to the Philippines?

The Bible didn’t refer to the Philippines at all. The authors of the Bible were entirely unaware of them, just as they were entirely unaware of the peoples of the Americas and Australia and so ignorant of biology that they thought whales are fish and bats are birds. There were a lot of things the writers of the Bible didn’t know, although they pretended to know a lot.

Will the Philippines accept refugees from the Middle East?

Most probably. The Philippines, despite being a predominantly Catholic country, accepted refugees of different backgrounds.1923: White Russians during the Russian Revolution. Only the Philippines accepted them.1934–1940: the Jews from Austria/Germany during the Holocaust when many countries declined to help. How the Philippines saved 1,200 Jews during Holocaust1939: Spanish republicans, after the Spanish Civil War (Republicans vs. Nationalists)1940: Chinese refugees after the Nanking Massacre and expansion of Japanese Empire.1947: “white Russians” (Russians, Ukrainians, Polish, Armenians, Turko Tatars, Lithuanians, Latvians, Estonians, Romanians, Czechs and Yugoslavs, Hungarians, Germans, and Austrians) after the creation of the People’s Republic of China. A forgotten episode in Russian history leaves links with the Philippines1975–1992: Vietnamese boat people after the Vietnam War. A Vietnamese refugee camp was opened.1979: anti-Khomeini Iranian students during the Iranian Revolution. PH-Iran celebrate 50 years of warm relations1980–1994: Indochinese refugees from Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos. There were ESL (English as a second language) and primary education classes.2000: East Timorese refugees during the 1999 East Timorese crisis2014: the Muslims from Myanmar and Bangladesh during the Rohingya refugee crisis, after being rejected by Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia. Philippines to accept refugees stuck at sea after being rejected across south-east Asia. The neighboring countries only changed their minds when the Philippines, a poorer country, decided to help. With the advent of social media, Filipino citizens and overseas Filipinos can add pressure to the government.

Should India accept more refugees from the Middle East?

Short answer: NoLong Answer:There are many reasons why accepting refugees from Middle-East is not only detrimental for India but also doesn't make any sense.1. Population density: India is already an overpopulated country, a bucket waiting to spill. Even though even a million refugees would be just about 0.08% of the total population, it'll increase the pressure that is there on the existing resources. In that regard, I'd be surprised if Pakistan decides to allow that, considering that they already house so many Afghan refugees.2. Social dynamics: It's not that all the refugees will spread out in the country where their presence will not be felt. They'll settle in some places and the society there will not accept them. There is already a communal undercurrent in the country as far as illegal migrants from Bangladesh and Myanmar are concerned and bringing completely foreign Muslims to the country will only add on to it.In my home state as well, the bizzare presence of Rohingyas has raised huge outcry with people from Jammu calling it changing of demography of the state and people of Kashmir welcoming them as fellow Muslims.3. Geopolitical prudence: Why should India bear the brunt of a conflict which it has no part to play in. Even from the humanitarian angle, the responsibility to provide shelter to the refugees lies with the neighbouring countries. From the point of view of the 'Muslim Ummah', it is the duty of especially those nations that claim to derive their laws from Sharia. Not of Europe, not of India or China. It is anyway impractical from a person from Syria to travel to India and settle here where there are many safe havens in between.
