Be forthcoming about your record so that it's not a suprise when they run the background check. And remember the type of felony may limit your options. For example if it was drug related you may not be able to volunteer in a hospital or other medical facility. Volunteering is a great way to gain experience and looks great on a resume. Enjoy it!

First, assuming you have completed probation, most states will let you expunge the conviction. In California, you can have it reduced to a misdemeanor first. Then, after that you do not have to put down the conviction except if you are applying for a government job. Pretty much, you can go for whatever you want. I wish you luck in your future.

What is a good career for an ex-felon? i am a 26 year old male who was convicted of a drug crime in 2001 since then i have obtained a G.E.D and i have 2 semesters of college under my belt and am trying to move forward but i am having a hard time picking a career with a drug conviction.... how does the goverment expect to reform criminals if they have nowhere to turn when they do go straight... well back to the real question WHAT KIND OF DEGREE WOULD I BE ABLE TO GET WITH A FELONY CONVICTION THAT PAYS WELL... i cant do a strenuous job because of a back injury.. thanks for any help
