Where Can I Apply For A Job In Australia At The Age Of 14 And Nine Months

How can I get a job at the age of 14 in Australia, NSW?

Prepare a short resume and drop in to the local IGA in person. They may or may not need your resume but just in case. There may be an application form to complete, so be prepared with a pen and have your personal details ready. You may also be asked as to your availability which means when can you start work and what times and days can you work. Ask to speak to the manager of the store and choose non busy times or they may not want to speak with you.I assume you'll still be in school so you may state you can work for example : from 4 pm to 9 pm Monday to Friday and 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday and Sunday. It really depends on the store operating hours but bear in mind there are some staff who work during non operating hours to stock up and clean etc.To increase your chances, you could ask the existing staff what hours they work, what shifts there are and the type of work available. Read up on the website under Careers for a description of the jobs.Putting in effort to show you are really keen, conscientious, reliable and punctual will definitely increase your chances. Good personal hygiene counts too as does dressing in a clean pair of dark pants and white or light blue shirt.Another tip : if there are no jobs now, ask if they may need some extra casuals during the December and January period. Many retailers do have a higher need for staff over the Christmas break. Casuals who work hard often get called on to take other shifts after the busy Christmas period.Good luck and you can also try other places nearby, provided you have some means of transport. If you don't find success, don't take it personally. You can always drop in again a few weeks from now or closer to the Christmas break time when they are more ready to hire.

How can you get a job if you are under 15 years old in Australia?

If you mean a full time job, you can’t. The legal age to leave school is now 17 in most States, unless with special permission. You can get a casual job while still in education, but cannot be employed at times when you should be in school or other education. The minimum age for that varies again, for instance it is 13 in Qld, while there is no minimum in NSW. In other States there must be a permit taken out by the employer. Many employers set their own minimums. As to how you can get such a job, decide what work you would like, ask parents or friends for advice, get together a written reference or 3 from relatives, coaches, school advisers, write a little script and practice your speech, then dress neatly and just go in and ask if there are any openingsThat’s what my sons did at K-Mart and it worked. Incidentally K-Mart were good employers.

Where can a 14 year old work in NSW, Australia?

I turned 14 in early March and I really want a job. And I know I am allowed to work because on the Maccas website it says that you have to be 14 with parents permission (which I have).

I live around Sydney and I was wondering what places would hire me, I don't want to do a paper run, washing cars, walking dogs etc. I was thinking of applying for IGA because they said they were very short staffed in customer service. Do you think I should apply and see if I get the job now or in the summer holidays?
Thanks in advance :)

A job for a 13 year old boy in Melbourne, Australia?

Now a days every business or even successful businesses prefer hiring an age group of people who are below 18 because of cost cutting or inorder to curb expenses on higher wages being paid to those who are above 18. As per melbourne is concerned there are 100 of fast food chains like Macca’s , Hungry Jack’s , Kfc and many more which prefer to hire people below 18 or as you mention 13 because of lower waages which will be around 12 or 14 dollars which is considerably low in comparison to those who are above 18.

Im really bad at doing my job at Mcdonalds?

So im 14 years old and I just started working at Mcdonalds about 2-3 months ago.
(Yes in NSW australia you can start work at mcdonalds at 14)
Ive only had about 9-10 shifts and most of them were on cleaning/dining.
Im really good at dining and cleaning and I know where everything is etc etc.

Ive only trained on register once and they just quickly showed me how to do it and i served 1 customer. That was it. I wasnt that great. I found it pretty confusing but everyone was like "oh yeah its the easiest thing". Theres this other 14 year old that works there too and shes so far ahead of me! She knows how to do drive thru and register already really well and i havent learnt a thing.

One of my friend coworkers asked the manager to put me on something different cus he felt sorry for me and they just put me on fries or beverages.

Its just really stressful to work there because theyre always rushing you and I absolutely HATE doing beverages because I cant make cones or sundaes. I really suck and when i ask somebody to help me theyre always busy and then the customers get angry and then my manager gets angry and puts me back on dining.

I just want to be better at my job at learn things faster but I dont know how. Everytime they put me a on a different area and i try to learn it, it doesnt go very well and I just get people angry. :(
I cant quit because Its probably the only job i can get at the age of 14.

What job should I get as a 14 (just turned 14) year old in Melbourne, Australia?

Do you mean paying or non-paying? I, as an almost 14 year old in Melbourne too, and I find community service an always to go to when I feel like I've been doing nothing. It doesn't pay, but it gives such a feeling of satisfaction of helping the community. It also never hurts to pad your resumè with a few hours community does it? Anyway, you have to be at very least 14 and 9 months, in most stores 15, to get a job which isn't a family business. Also, shops generally look toward experienced people to run them. With community service behind your back, they wills you as a good option to count on. Also, another idea, create your own business! I have just started a dog-walking business for $10 a day of caring/walking, and its going great. Remember, always go for opportunities, but if they don't work out, always start small and build up! good luck! Some community services I work for:Welcome to the Port Phillip EcoCentre!Earthcare St Kildahttps://www.beachpatrol.com.au/B...Friends of Elster CreekTry these if you want, that are always looking for more volunteers!
