How has technology changed since you were born?
There can be an endless list for this answer. I'll try to keep it short. I'm a 90's kid and I have seen a lot of technological changes. In 90's you had to click on the website link and then sit for 2 minutes or more for that site to load. Now we get irked off if takes more than 5 seconds. Also, many might remember that beep - boop - beep music it made before connecting. If somebody was using the phone to call, you could not use the Internet. Say this to some 12 year old today and they will laugh. I remember my first computer costed some 65k rupees. Holy fuck, you get a macbook air now. My dad used to have this brick of a phone with antenna on it. Now he wants the slimmest one possible. People used to own pagers then. Ask somebody now, what a pager is and they might say such a thing does not exists. There were no LTD or LED. Fat TV's were the in thing. Remember that Onida ad? People used to take newspaper to toilets not their mobiles. Call rates were very high. Now, if it costs more than a rupee for a one minute call, we contact the customer care. There used to be an incandescent yellow light bulb in every house. Now, CFL is being outdated.It was the time of digital watches. Everyone used to flaunt it. And it was utterly useful. Now, we have Apple Watch. I rest my case here. I'll add more as I remember things from my past.
Why do they have Quiet mostly shirtless throughout the game of Metal Gear Solid V? I haven’t played the game.
Since you haven't played the game, here is my spoiler warning.The in-universe explanation is that Quiet was so badly burned from her encounter with Venom in the Cyprus hospital, that medical science could not save her. Even still, she was such a valuable asset to XOF that their doctors performed an experimental surgery on her to replace her damaged tissue with a "parasite" (really a symbiont) known as the One That Covers. The parasite restored her life functions and granted her superhuman abilities, with the caveat that she must give the parasite constant exposure to sunlight and fresh water so it can photosynthesize, or else she will die.Which is why fellow One That Covers user Code Talker is constantly glistening wet and stripped down to a thong.Wait, no. The real reason is that Quiet was created with the male gaze in mind. Maybe Kojima was being a horny old bastard when he designed her. Maybe someone at Konami said the game wouldn't sell unless it had 80% more T&A in it. I really don't care about assigning blame anymore, the Metal Gear series has always been awful about portraying women, and I say that as a Metal Gear fan. Hell, I say this as a Quiet fan, since I found myself really attached to her by the game's end in spite of her costume: Quiet's constant near-nudity was a terrible artistic decision, and the half-hearted and wholly inconsistent justification the game gave us to make us ashamed of our words and deeds was just adding insult to injury.(Img. credit IGN)
