Where Can I Drop Off Recyclables In Columbus Ohio

Can I put styrofoam in recycle bins?

Styrofoam is one of those materials that doesn’t break down but it can be reused if done properly. If your municipality has bins specifically for styrofoam by all means put it there but never, NEVER put it into bins for recycling of other materials. If burned it produces a highly toxic gas so you would not want it mixed with other materials that are processed with heat.It can be used for packing material, for mixing with soil to keep it aerated, and one of the most interesting uses I have seen is using it to make styrofoam/cement blocks and girders for building.Just as an aside, a home built using these styrofoam/cement forms can be put up in a day, is insulated against both heat and cold and can be carved. I would think it might be an inexpensive way to provide housing for the homeless but there could be drawbacks of which I am unaware.

Once you leave the bar, how far from the bar can a police officer pull you over for DUI?

My buddy lived a block away from the bar he was drinking at. He was arrested in the bar’s parking lot. The thing is, he never made it into his car. He tried to unlock the door, but he was so drunk he couldn’t get the key into the lock and fell over. The cops arrested him lying on the ground next to his car and charged him with DUI. Yes he was convicted, that was enough in my state.Another acquaintance left his local VFW and decided he was too drunk to drive home. He crawled into the back seat of his car to sleep it off. The county sheriff deputy woke him up a couple hours later and arrested him for DUI. He had the keys to the car with him and that is enough to prove physical control. That one doesn’t make sense to me, but in my state it’s a winning DUI case.Different states of course, have different rules, but where I worked, even if you left the keys somewhere else, if the cops could prove you had access to them and you were in your vehicle it was a chargeable DUI. It was never an arrest I was willing to make, there were enough drunks actually driving their cars to occupy my time.

Is it illegal to go through someone's trash?

Generally, if the trash cans are outside and against the house (or reasonably close), then the trash has not been abandoned and it is illegal to go through without a warrant. If the cans are (on the curb and) out for collection, then you can go through them. This is just general guidance here—your mileage may vary.Further, some refuse companies or municipalities gain revenue or offset costs by taking in the recyclables in the trash. If you’re taking those, the case could be made that you’re stealing. So, it also depends why you’re going through someone’s trash.

Which organization is better to donate items to: Salvation Army or Goodwill?

Which ever organization is most convenient, so you can clear out your clutter. In my community, the donation times for Salvation Army were limited to something like ten, maybe fifteen hours a week, and even then, the donation garage wasn’t always open and there was only one person taking the donations. When the store eventually closed, the organization blamed Goodwill for coming to town.Goodwill is a non-profit. Salvation Army is a charity. They both do good in the community, help change lives for the better, their thrift stores help people as employees and as customers. Both will offer you a receipt for your taxes. If you can’t decide which would make the “better home” for your cast-offs, just flip a coin and get the stuff out of your house/garage/storage unit.

What travel disaster turned into an amazing experience?

I am a traveler and frequently travel solo.Last year I decided to visit Jordan alone. I was a bit worried about safety and traveling to a Middle Eastern country alone. But none of my friends were able to join along, i headed there alone.I visited Amman, Jerash, Madaba, Petra, Wadi Rum, Dead Sea and Aqaba alone. It was ok to go around sightseeing alone in most of the places. But Wadi Rum was different. Being a desert, i wanted to take a safari and i would have prefered to travel with a group so that i can split the cost with others. But as other tourists were traveling in groups, they had their own arrangements and i ended up taking a desert safari alone. I was a bit disappointed as i would have prefered to travel in a group also to share all the excitement and experiences.I went with my Bedouin driver Attallah into the desert. I thought being alone i would not spend much time and return quickly after taking some pictures. But it turned out to be completely different than my expectations.Attallah showed me some remote parts of Wadi Rum where usual tourists would not go. I ended up driving his SUV in the desert, which was fun. And i saw the most spectacular sunset sitting on top of the mountains. I even spent a night on the dune watching a sky studded with gazillion stars and milky way.Instead of a quick sight seeing trip, it turned out to be a Once in a lifetime experience of ‘Sleeping Under the stars in Wadi Rum with a Bedouin’! I have written about it in detail on my blog with lots of pictures. I loved my solo trip to Jordan and i am inclined to take more solo trips in the future.Priti ZarariaI love tripping!Facebook: I Love Tripping - Visual TravelogInstagram: i_love_trippingTwitter: @I_Love_Tripping
