Where Can I Find News On Scientific Breakthroughs

What scientific breakthrough would have the biggest effect on humanity?

HA! Boy, do I know the answer to this one!The construction of a soul-detector!And finally confirming what we have all known in our guts all along, that we are all eternal beings with eternal souls and always have been. The ultimate result of the scientific detection of souls would be the absolute, utter, permanent destruction of all evil on Earth.Does this not make INTUITIVE sense? One day everybody turns on the TV, and hears an announcement on the news, that scientists have detected souls in the laboratory. How much evil would stop stone-cold dead IMMEDIATELY?I wrote a story about this once.Here. Watch the destruction of ALL evil on Earth begin, starting with the worst evil of all, genocide.A scientist builds a soul-detector, IMMEDIATELY detects souls—-and smashes the entire world. The total and permanent destruction of all evil on Earth begins as the good guys are finally cut loose. Because science has now proven the MORAL thing to do is also the SMART thing to do.AFTER THE AWAKENINGhttps://futurism.media/after-the...Jeff Corkern--------------------------------------------------Consider the following as a statement of logic, and rank it as "True" or "False":"If people possess immortal souls, it should be possible to logically deduce this by objective analysis of their actions."http://www.theninepointfivetheses.blogspot.com

Is that true that scientific breakthroughs in China are just fake news created for propaganda purpose?

Propaganda is always a means to an end. If this is propaganda, what end would it serve? Inspire the Chinese to pursue STEM degrees, work hard and… fake more scientific discoveries? To fake ALL of them?Sure, the only way China can eclipse the US is by faking it, right? Could it be that they've spent a ton of money and effort to make science and tech the engine of their economy? The uncomfortable truth for much of the developed world is that the scientific and technological expertise in China is enormous and still growing. They're on a trajectory that, with enough time, will have them on the cutting edge of numerous disciplines. To qualify: I have visited Chinese science institutes and spoken with researchers, I also have friends who are professionally involved with various Chinese tech companies. The advancement is real.We have a choice: get our kids into STEM degrees, or assume the Chinese are just lying to us.

What are some of the biggest scientific breakthroughs in recent years?

discovery of gravitational waves.Scientists were able to stop light for a whole 1 minute. With a new generation of machinery in place we are groundbreakingly close to a new more accurate atomic modelWe are making numerous new breakthroughs in life support technology for space. As recent as yesterday we observed a photo boom (like sonic boom) for the first time. Also we are about to build one of the largest structure humanity has ever built. While this would be an engineering marvel, currently it is totally unnecessary and a waste of money because *someone* thinks normal middle class people come into his country on foot like impoverished beggar.Edit 1: this week scientist found a new material know as the time crystal! The material breaks the symmetry of time itself! It can just move around without any energy or so continuously! Who knows how long it will be until we can finally travel back in time?

Why do "medical breakthroughs" take so long to become practical treatments?

Do a search on any given disorder or disease and you will probably get dozens of hits proclaiming some miracle breakthrough which will render even the most terrible of conditions curable. Why does it take these breakthroughs so long to translate into actual treatments? Is there really a need for years and years of checking and double checking? Is it a matter of not getting enough funding to carry on further research, or is it the bureaucracy of organizations like the FDA?

With all the medical breakthroughs, why hasn't artificial blood been developed?

Artificial blood was developed in the early 1966 by Leland C. Clark, Jr., of the University of Cincinnati, which was a liquid flurocarbon. I was using it in the early 1970's in the early stages of heart transplantation research to attempt to mitigate tissue rejection. Since then, many approaches to artificial blood have been developed, including one recently by Genentec. The problem is that blood is a complex tissue with many different functions, and each artificial prototype cannot possibly replace all those functions. However, as an infusion to replace blood loss, when blood donors are not available, it has possible usefulness.

What scientific research will be big news and making headlines in 2018? Can we expect big breakthroughs in genetic engineering and AI?

CRISPR will probably continue to be big news, as will re-engineering t-cells to fight cancer. I'd imagine smaller breakthroughs in these techniques and more FDA approval in the next year.In analytics, deep learning will probably continue to be news, as will growing fields like topological data analysis and geometric methods in data analysis. We'll probably start to see a shift towards competence-based hiring of data scientists, data engineers, and analytics managers, as well as a continuation of the shortage in the US. I doubt we'll see anything revolutionary, as it's hard to really revolutionize anything in machine learning. With respect to computing, I'd expect a small chance for a breakthrough in quantum computing, as well as ongoing debates about Bitcoin and block-chain methods. Not sure how that will resolve, but the bubble suggests the answer will come soon.Physics is probably going to yield smaller discoveries in astrophysics (continuing search for life and habitable worlds, maybe some confirmations of gravity) and particle physics. I doubt dark matter or dark energy will be cracked soon.

How do technological breakthroughs contribute to the formulation of hte cell theory

I imagine that the answer that they're looking for has to deal with the development and advancement of the microscope. When Hooke first identified cells, he was using a fairly primitive compound microscope. He called what he saw "little boxes." Close to 100 years later, when Schleiden and Schwann were using microscopes to study plant and animal tissue, the microscopes were more advanced, with more magnification, and they were able to see the nucleus of the cells and other organelles, which caused them to form the basis of the cell theory. About 20 years later, Virchow expanded on this by studying cell division using a (probably even better) microscope.
