Grind a half inch off of either side of your laptop. Short of that, you can’t put 10 lbs. of potatoes in a 8 lb. sack. The case is usually leather or a leather substitute. If you can sew heavy material, cut the end of the case open and add enough material to it to allow it to fit. That would be a hard job and probably look terrible. Spend the 20–40 dollars for a new one.

Weird smell in my in-case laptop bag?
I've had this nice in-case laptop sleeve for my 17" macbook pro. I barely used it because I usually slip my laptop into my bookbag with my other books. Recently, I just grabbed it to put some books in, and when I got to class and opened it, it smelled AWFUL! I can't describe it..it was like old burned popcorn or old poo. It was coming from the side compartment. But when I got a closer look it seemed as though a highlighter burst in it a long time ago, but it wouldn't produce something that smelly would it? I also have a puppy that could have had an accident next to it, which it what it smells like but I don't see poo. Nevertheless, it doesn't have any stains, just the awful smell! How do I get rid of it?
