Where Can I Learn To Follow The Way Of The Samurai Online

What does トツプ mean? No online dictionary can help me with this word?

Samurai I have noted in some of your other posts, and again as the other poster has mentioned you need to distinquish between various big/small and combined kana. For example, ちょ is different from ちよ.

トツプ isn't really a word but トップis a word, トップ is katakana for the word "top".

Don't worry practice makes perfect!

---
Like I said Practice makes perfect. Study more and practice and it will become easy.

トツプ is "to tsu pu"
トップ is "to ppu" do you see the difference?

*IF* it were written in hiragana, とつぷ and とっぷ can you see the difference?

The double sounding you get is followed by a small "tsu" not a big TSU which is pronounced completely different in kana. The procession of a small tsu means its a double sound. A big tsu is simply the pronunciation of TSU.

Don't worry when I first learned Japanese basics, I had the same problem. Learn and practice, and practice makes perfect.

What art style is Afro Samurai?

It is in an anime style. I say "anime" in a VERY broad sense of the word. There are literally THOUSANDS of different styles of the genre. Every artist is different and has their own style. The best thing you can do is look at the show and mimic the style in any way you like.

With anime there is really no way to learn a specific style. But there are many tutorials on how to learn basics. Try some of these to get started.

How can one learn bushido?

How can one learn Bushido? There is a great deal of reading material in English about the topic, I’d suggest you start there.Bushido is a code of ethics, and varied broadly from clan to clan, and changed or varied during different eras in Japanese history. So its not one ‘thing’, it was a way of thinking and viewing the world that evolved and changed over time.First, avoid anything written by Inazo Nitobe and avoid anything that cites Inazo Nitobe’s book “Bushido” (1). Nitobe’s book was written after the era of the Samurai was over, and is both wrong and misleading. Here are some sources from medieval Japan. Choose your translator / translation.Often the books are a mix of martial arts and ethics, or tactics / livelihood. Anything by Takuan Soho is going to be mostly about Zen. The works by Yagyu Munenori are largely but not entirely about swordsmanship. The Bushido Shoshinshu of Taira ShigesukeHakagure by Yamamoto TsunetomoTraining the Samurai Mind: A Bushido Sourcebook translated by Thomas Cleary. A collection of essays from the 15th to 18th century.Samurai Wisdom: Lessons from Japan's Warrior Culture (Five Classic Texts on Bushido) translated by Thomas Cleary {The Way of the Knight by Yamaga Soko, The Warrior's Rule by Tsugaru Kodo-shi, Essentials of Military Matters compiled by Yamaga Takatsune, The Education of Warriors by Yamaga Soko, Primer of Martial Education by Yamaga Soko}The Life-Giving Sword: The Secret Teachings From the House of the Shogun by Munenori, YagyuThe Sword & the Mind by Yagyu MunenoriClassical Bujutsu (Martial Arts and Ways of Japan) by Donn Draeger. How should a beginner learn Japanese?

The other answers here are pretty good.Learn hiragana. Don’t try and write everything in romaji. It will slow your progress significantly.Start learning basic vocabulary, such as adjectives, names for places e.g park (こうえん) or shop (みせ).Learn the basic particles; は、に、と、を、へ、もStart learning the basic sentence structure; subject, object, verb. Learn to make simple sentences using this structure. Get comfortable with it.Learn some basic numbers, e.g 1–20.Start learning counters, e.g how to say “3 ice creams”.Learn a few basic kanji; such as 行く (to go), 食べる (to eat) and the kanji for the numbers. All the previous steps will take a significant amount of time to master. Don’t worry if you aren’t perfect with the particles. They are very difficult to master and even people skilled at Japanese make mistakes with them.Once with you are comfortable with everything previously mentioned, learn katakana. This will allow you to say English words in Japanese, such as someone’s name or a country foreign to Japan.Just keep learning and practising everything from there. It will be a very long process. You will probably forget some of the basics and that’s to be expected. I’m good at Japanese but I’ve forgotten counters.EDIT: Also very important to listen to some spoken Japanese, e.g a text book with a listening practise CD. You want to do this early on to try and get the pronunciation right for each character or combination. Otherwise it will be harder to correct later on and people probably won’t understand your Japanese if your pronunciation is bad.Good luck.

What is the best way to learn physics?

The overwhelmingly best (and only) way to study physics is to do physics problems. Solving the problems forces you to know the formulas and understand the math. It creates the landscape in which you will learn the concepts, develop your intuitive sense of how physics works, and fathom the rich interconnection of the ideas. If you read the textbook, or listen to a lecture, you get an idea of what the landscape looks like, but it is not the experience of physics. It is like the difference between watching a TV program about the Grand Canyon, and actually walking around in it.I have been studying and re-learning my college physics in recent weeks because I got the idea in my head that I could go teach H.S. Physics. I took a practice AP Physics test, cold, and I think I got a 4 on it - mind you, it’s not really a 4 because I took a lot longer than 90 minutes, but I flatter myself…. Still, pretty good for a subject I learned formally >30 years ago. Yesterday, I successfully derived centripetal acceleration, you know, [math] a = -v^2/r [/math]. Yay! It took an hour and two attempts with different approaches. The point is, once you learn physics well, the intuition for the methodology will stick with you. You learn to think about technical, logical problems in a deep and sophisticated way. It’s worth the work - it is so intellectually satisfying!Another point: I’m amused by all the Quora posts about quantum mechanics where folks claim that it’s not intuitive or natural the way classical physics is - that you cannot learn QM the same way because it doesn’t jive with your everyday experience. Well, my recollection of freshman year physics is that it was hard, and not intuitive at all, until you learn it, and then it is. I think we make QM harder because teachers introduce ideas (like the Bohr atom) that have you expect that sub-atomic particles are little solid spheres of matter. Go stare at waves on the ocean, especially as they interact with interesting boundary conditions, like in a boat harbor with jetties and docks. Then come back to QM and see if it makes more sense. My 2c!
