Will my Verizon Galaxy s3 mini work if i put it on Straight talk?
I am trading my iphone 4 for a Samsung Galaxy S3 mini. The s3 is on Verizon. But i can only afford a prepaid plan. and verizon won't let me put that 4g phone on prepaid. I have decided to use the Straight Talk "bring your own phone" program. Buy a AT&T sim card and transfer my phone over to Straight talk service. My question is Will this work? Is my phone AT&t compatible and if i buy a ATT 4g sim card, will my phone work? I don't want to trade my phone if i can't use it. Telemarketers haven't helped me at all. Please someone help
Samsung galaxy SIII(3)? or SIV (4)?
I have an upgrade for my Verizon plan May 26th of this year. The Samsung Galaxy SIV(4) comes out on May 30th of this year for Verizon, so I was thinking of getting it with my upgrade. HOWEVER, I notice that the SIII is cheap right now, and that I may be able to get one for extremely cheap or FREE when I get my upgrade. I was just wondering, what do you people think, should I get the SIV(4) for 200, or the SIII for free? I mean, it's a hard choice. Will the SIV(4) be much better?
Should I keep my iPhone4S or trade for the Samsung Galaxy S3?
Christmas is coming soon and I'm looking for a new phone. Everyone now either has the iPhone 5s/c or Samsung Galaxy s4. But because of financial problems, I need to use Virgin Mobile (no contract plan) and it currently only supports samsung galaxy s3. I've heard that the Galaxy is better than the iPhone, but my main problem is the apps..and music downloads. First off, im Kpop/Anime fan so I'm wondering if they have apps like DramaFever, VIKI, LINE, and Crunchyroll. I also love the game FLOW Free so id be pretty disappointed if they didn't have these apps. Also, right now my iPhone holds 410 songs...and I use 4shared for music downloads and iTunes to transfer it into my phone. How would I do that with a Samsung?? Is there a thing similar to iTunes in which I can do this? Should I wait until VirginMobile gets the Galaxy s4 ? Because I don't want to get the s3 and then a few months later (or whenever) they release the s4 for VirginMobile...
Apple vs. Samsung: Who is better?
Apple may cost more but also has more value. Incredibly the the iphone 4s has higher resale value than a gs3. Dont believe me? Walk into a consumer elextronics store and ask. Trade in programs offer way more for ios devices the same with ebay and Craigslist. Alot of things come into play when you evaluate the value of a product, one being supply and demand, and another in this case is exclusivity on something called an OS. I just want to know what samsung can do without googles android? All these processors and cameras will have nothing to do. Its going to be a battle, its not really samsung vs apple, its android vs ios. IMO I rather go for a product that not only works amazing but also holds its value. To me upgrading on an android device is a waste, you can buy a new ios device at a subsidized price, resell for way more and then just buy two or three androids literally. In all they are all great, I love my note 2 and ipad mini.
How long are Samsung's smartphones' lifespans? Specifically, how long is it until it starts to have problems?
If you get a flagship phone, the hardware will most likely last for 3 to 4 years. The battery will need to be replaced within 1.5 years. Peripherals that usually die around 3 years are the charging port and headphone jack. The OS will be updated to new Android versions for 2 years, and additional security patches will be pushed out for another year (3 years software support total technically). The build quality on flagships Samsung Note 4 and before are far more durable, being made of high quality polycarbonate and having removable batteries and modular parts. Samsung S6 and onwards are made out of glass and are super fragile and hard to repair.I myself use a flagship Samsung Galaxy Note 3 since early 2014, its still fine in June 2017 after almost 3 1/2 years usage, except the charging port is getting a little loose and may need to be replaced soon. And I also bought another battery from Amazon in 2015.If you get a midrange or entry-level phone, the build quality, especially on phones before 2015, will be pretty bad. Should last about 2 years before something dies. The new 2016 and 2017 A-series and C-series are pretty good and should also last about 3 years, although the battery will need to be replaced after 2 years.

Do you really need a micro sim adapter to put a nano sim card into a Samsung Galaxy S3?
You do not need a SIM adapter to make a nano SIM card work in a micro SIM slot. However, I would definitely recommend it.If we look at some of the dimensions of the different sim cards we can see why:Source: www.te.comFrom the graphic we can already see that a nano SIM will have around 2.7 mm more slack on the long axis and around 3.2 mm on the short axis. It's also a bit thinner, but most connectors have 'springy' contact points, so I'm not going to address that here.In the most generous case, the six relevant contact points have dimensions of around 4 mm in length and a width or around 2.8 mm. If we assume that the connector makes contact in the middle of each SIM contact, that leaves us with around 2 mm of wiggle room along the long axis and 1.4mm along the short axis, where the SIM card will connect correctly. That's quite a bit less than the micro SIM slot allows! Additionally, in the worst case, SIM contact patches have the dimensions of 2 x 1.7 mm[1].So, as you can see; the amount of wiggle room a nano SIM card has in a micro SIM card slot is more than the size of the contact patches allow. If the contact patches and connector points become misaligned, your phone will likely not connect to the network anymore, because it won't be able to read the SIM's unique identifier needed to access your provider's network.
