Where Can I Watch Online Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind

How does Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind support the theory of true love?

I don't have any idea of theory of true love: how the formula works and makes a perfect configuration of passion, sincere, sacrifice, trust, and loyalty to be called true love. But I know that Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind has a nice thing that we could idealised as 'true love'.For first time-ers, this movie will be a bit hard to chew. Gondry (the director) always loves making movies with a lot of foreshadows, non-linear plot, surreal mise-en-scene, and blurry line between dream and reality. But lets not talking about the cinematography (which is so trippy and I love it!). Joel falls hard to Clementine, and so does Clementine. They both have different personality: Joel is an extreme introvert and Clem is an impulsive extrovert, a bit hot headed, and sensitive. What makes this movie contains that you called theory of true love is might be their willing to have each other.I don't want to give you spoilers here, in case you haven't watch this movie. But all I can say is, Joel and Clementine shows us how love can't be erased. It is part if your unconciousness, something you cannot control at all. It lives inside you, crawling into your unthinkable memories and at the some point it will rushes out.

What's the story behind the production of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind?

Here's an intro:Several years ago, director Michel Gondry was having dinner with a friend, the artist Pierre Bismuth, in London. That night, Bismuth proposed a provocative idea: what if you received a card in the mail that stated you had been erased from someone’s memory, and that you should no longer attempt to contact them? Around the same time, Gondry read Charlie Kaufman’s original screenplay for Being John Malkovich and sought to make a movie with the writer. Their work, whether it’s Gondry’s much-admired videos or Kaufman’s reality-bending screenplays, tends to turn convention inside out. “His writing inspires me,” says Gondry. “Soon, I had a completely different idea of how I should do this movie. It became about memories. How we are our memories, and how our memories affect our lives. Losing them – before you die – is tragic.”For the rest, check out http://www.jimcarreyonline.com/m...

Non-Chick Flick movies to watch at a movie night?

My friend is having a movie night and we don't want to watch Chick Flicks but we can't think of any really good movies that everybody will like! Any suggestions?

What does this quote by Alexander Pope mean: “How happy is the blameless vestal's lot! The world forgetting, by the world forgot. Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind! Each pray'r accepted, and each wish resign'd?”

Appreciating these lines calls for some background understanding. So here is some history you might wanna dig into—The poem is based on the clandestine love and subsequent marriage of Héloïse d'Argenteuil to Peter Abélard, her teacher. Abélard insisted that she keep their marriage a secret as it might mar his reputation. However, as the word spread, Abélard persuaded Héloïse to take the vow of silence in the convent of Argenteuil, for her own safety. This act of his was perceived by her family as his attempt to get rid of her. They sought their vengeance by castrating him. Completely mortified, Abélard became a monk in the Abbey of St Denis in Paris. After several years of agonizing separation, Héloïse's feelings for Abélard were revived. So they exchanged four letters, where they expressed their indignation, anguish and consternation. However, their conflict of opinions left them both feeling bitter. So she decided on living in solitude than spend an eternity with him. Now, back to the point –1--- How happy is the blameless vestal's lot!2--- The world forgetting, by the world forgot.3--- Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind!4--- Each pray'r accepted, and each wish resign'd ..1--- The nuns (chaste women) who devote their life to serving God are cut off from the world and happy due to their ignorance.2---The vestals forget the world and the world reciprocates it for them. Neither of them has the need to think of the other.3--- A mind that does not dwell upon the tribulations of the past and dissociates itself from any ingrained feelings experiences true bliss, comparable to an “eternal sunshine”.4--- Héloïse feels happy about the fact that her prayer for lapse of memory on events that had bothered her over the years had been answered. Also, she voluntarily demits herself from her wish to be reunited with her long-lost love when she comes to terms with the fact that he never truly loved her. (Reference - Héloïse d'Argenteuil)These lines are quoted by Mary Svevo in the movie “Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind”. She also quotes Nietzsche (“Blessed are the forgetful: for they get the better even of their blunders”) in the same scene, thus supporting the above idea.
