How to start my own clothing line?
I have a notebook of designs for shirts and things like that and I would like to make my own clothing line. Does anyone have any SERIOUS advice/tips? Will it be expensive to start out? What do I need? Could I get my clothing line to be sponsored (or something like that) under DC Shoes or any other top brand? Would I make a fair amount of money if I'm moderately successful?

If I want to start a clothes business?
I have a clothing business. Sara Blakely is admirable, but she is one out of a million women who succeed with this. My advice is to start local and start small. I started with my own designs, I hand make everything myself before I started hiring a seamstress. Then I signed up for local arts and crafts shows under "fiber arts". If you make things that come in sizes sm, med, lg...then you won't need dressing rooms. Forgive me for asking, but you do know how to sew, right? I ask because some people are in it just for the ego of seeing their name on a label, and they farm it out to sweatshops in China which exploits child labor and human rights. Try to keep it made in America, and made with your own two hands, or with a couple of helpers. Know the business inside and out. If you can't sew, if you can't design, then go to design school and learn first. Please feel free to contact me if I can be of any help.
How do i start my own business? Fashion*?
Actually I've done 4 years course and I'm a fashion designer.. I want to start my own line but I do not wanna spend much money in the beginning so i think of buying readymade Tshirts and printing my own art on them , illustrations (which i enjoy doing) and then sell online.. i think if it works out i can go ahead buy a sewing machine and start making clothes by my own , how do you think ? Or should i start making clothes in the beginning and give up on idea of readymade Tshirts n prints? Really worried , I do not know how to start it.. If everything works out i think of hiring tailors whi will sew and i can only mangage stuff n design.. Please suggest me something , thanks!!

The first step is to observe and analyse the market conditions.See what kind of people live there, i.e. youth, middle-aged etc.Gather money to invest, approx. 4–5 lakh rupees only for the cloth stock.Decide the location of the shop wisely as per the quality of population in that area.Search for a manufacturer and plan about how can you get maximum profit margin.There is a lot of competition everywhere, your cloth must be something new, unique, attractive.Analyse deeply about the rent you have to pay, availability of resources in that area-electricity etc. Calculate the amount of profit margin.These conditions are well satisfied? I want to start a clothing line?
i have nooooo idea where to start. i know you need a logo and trademark it and all but i have no idea how to make the logo, what sort of legal things i need to do, basically everything. i just would like to know some basic steps so i know what im getting into and can prepare myself. nothing high end just some t-shirts and hoodies and stuff. i have photoshop that i could make the logo on but i see alot of logos for companies and i dont know how to make or get the special fonts they have. any information would be helpful, thanks.
