Where Do I Go To Find Out Where I Purchased My Domain Name

I have purchased a domain name on GoDaddy.com and I want to host my website on it. where do I go from here?

First, I would like to congratulate you on taking this very first step and purchasing your own domain name. Potentially, You could have bought web hosting and domain name from GoDaddy. But to be honest, Getting a web hosting and domain name from the same provider is not my ultimate recommendation. It’s better to get both services from separate providers and sync them together. That’s very wise especially when you don’t want to put all eggs in the same basket. Getting your services with different separate providers will give you an extra level of flexibility for the future and business changes.I’m using GoDaddy as my main domain registrar. Besides, I’ve used many web hosting companies during the past 9 years. And it was simple as 1,2,3 to sync both services together from two separate providers. For Web Hosting, BlueHost would be my recommendation. For as low as $65 fist year, you can get a very decent web hosting account along with a free domain name.In the following articles, I’ve compiled all the information to purchase BlueHost hosting along and syncing it with GoDaddy domain name.Which BlueHost Shared Hosting Plan To Choose? How To Buy Web Hosting From Bluehost? The domain that I want to buy, (my name).com, is owned by a cyber-squatting company called hugedomains.com, and they re selling it for over $2,000. I cannot afford to pay that. Since the domain uses my name, do I have a right to host the domain through a registrar without having to purchase it first from this company?

Okay I have purchased a domain name website.?

Did you purchase a hosting package with your domain? It could be that your domain DNS nameservers do not actually direct your domain name to a remote host and therefore FileZilla cannot locate your website.

How do I add www in my domain name purchased through namecheap.com?

I had to answer this as I feel the previous answers didn’t hit the mark.Your question is totally valid, a domain name is just the name with the tld (example(.)com) anything before that name, be it www, blog, ftp are subdomains. So, whilst most browsers will automatically fill this so it appears there, or doesn’t worry about it and just shows http://example(.)com, it is a necessary part to think about, as users may still type in www.yourdomain(.)com.Now, how do you add it:The answer is with a CNAME record in your DNS - that sounds harder then it is, but often a Registrar will give you an option to automatically add this to say a URL forwarding setup.Add the subdomain in the Hostname field, e.g. www,Choose CNAME from the Type drop-down menu, or write it inEnter the CNAME Value, e.g. iCloud.com, http://ghs.google.com, http://zmverify.zoho.com, etc. The CNAME value needs to be a full domain name. You can alternatively add WWW as an A record - if you know the IP address which you’d like to route to.

I have just purchased a domain. What should I do now regarding web hosting?

Hello friends,If you already purchased a domain. Then next step to buy right best web hosting. When renting space on a server so that it can serve your website on the World Wide Web, it is often called 'hosting'.Companies that provide this service are often called 'host' or hosting companies. You can choose which type of hosting would you prefer: shared hosting, dedicated hosting, VPS hosting or cloud hosting. After you registered your domain, all you need to do it contact a hosting company and tell them you want to host you website and that you have a proper domain name. They will guide you through the process and you should be live on the web in no time! Some hosting companies do provide with a domain name too. There are large number of Web hosting Providers but among them following are the best hosting providers:BlueHost - Low cost and reliable web hostingDomainRacer - SSD storage, Let’s Encrypt SSL and 20x Server SpeedHostGator - Unlimited disk Space with UptimeAccording my opinion these are the best and good website hosting companies. The best website host is who is accountable for :Network bandwidth:Your host should allows you a certain amount of data transfer per month.Processor speed:Does your site respond quickly? A fast processor is especially needed for dynamic sites that use databases or server-side languages such as PHP.Disk storage:Your host allows you to use a certain amount of disk space, and may charge you for exceeding the limit.Sites that deal with graphics or multimedia are the most likely to run up against this limit.Security Is a PriorityWhen you host your website presence on a shared server, you negotiate some of its security. The other sites you share the server space with could open you up to liabilities, whether as of simple abandon and mistake, or through cruel intent. If you handle with sensitive information or simply want to shun the annoyances of a data breach or virus attack, dedicated server hosting might be right for youI Hope this will assist you to choose best hosting.Good Luck !!!

Can I transfer my purchased domain name in GoDaddy to other web hosting sites?

Most web hosts are also domain registrars or resellers of registrars so they want you to think you need or should move your domain to them when you decide to host with them.I recommend staying with the registrar you are using unless you get a better deal or better service elsewhere. It’s just a matter then of telling the registrar what DNS servers you intend to use and point that DNS properly to your host. Keep in mind you don’t need to change DNS host if your registrar is already handling your DNS. Just change the relevant address in that present DNS.

What is the way to permanently purchase a domain name?

For buying a domain name, all you have to do is go to the domain registrar and check for the availability. If it is, then voila. Pay and the domain is yours.Check for the plan while buying. Usually providers give the domain for 1 year or 2 year. GoDaddy gives a message like this,1st year price ₹ 99.00 Additional years ₹ 549.00which is self explanatory. So, after your domain expires you have to go and renew the domain again. Renewing involves paying. So, you save the task and the risk of your domain getting expired, you can save the auto-renew settings in your account. By doing this, automatically, the day when your domain will expire, the amount will be deducted from your saved card. Thus, you have bought the domain permanently.Hope it clears.Refer to the article, What is a domain and Why and How to buy a domain. You may also like seeing other posts in the archive, Setting up your wordpress site.Like. What is the best website to purchase my domain name if I'm going to use Shopify for the eCommerce? Why?

There are plenty of stores for domain names, some of the most common are Naecheap and goddady, I´m using both and both of them offers great service, in fact I see no difference because the domian is just the name of your website. The real value is on the hosting, that in your case will be shopify. To get a domain name for your store on shopify is a great move to get rid of the http://myshopify.com domain that looks NO professional at all. Now, before you go ans buy your domain name do the following:Search on your search engine for domain name couponsOnce you get the coupon go and see if the domain is available. A lot of good domain names (without websites on them) are being monopolized just for the owner to resell and make money.Purchase domain name from $11 to $1 or $2 dllsOnce you have purchased your domain, request shopify support what are the DNS names and go to your domain supplier to change these values. You have to wait at least 24 hrs for the domain to be ready and accessible from shopify.Hope it helps

I purchased a domain name off of 1and1.com yesterday?

The request from 1and1 to receive proof of your identity is highly unusual and is something I have only ever experienced with registering Canadian domain names (.ca).

Also, most registrars will make your newly purchased domain name available to you to begin using within a few minutes, if not instantly. Someone answered above that you can't use a domain until 24 to 48 hours after the domain is registered. This is not true.

The 24 to 48 hours wait time applies only to the time it takes for all of the Whois servers around the world to get updated with the new domain name information, including owner information and DNS servers. What this means to you is that your domain name will not resolve 100% of the time to your website (or parked page) until all Whois servers are updated with your domain's DNS servers. This is what takes 24 to 48 hours. Some registrars (like 1and1) will make you wait before you can use your new domain, but GoDaddy and Moniker (and most others) do not make you wait.

You would do well to go with GoDaddy.com. I have been using them for years and their customer service is very good. Their prices are also some of the lowest in the industry. The user interface can be a bit aggravating, but if you only have a few domain names, it won't be a big deal.

My registrar of choice is Moniker.com because their prices are also very low and their user interface is far superior to that of GoDaddy (very important when you manage hundreds of domain names, as I do), but their customer service is not great. Moniker also claims to have never lost a domain name (through fraud, theft, etc.).

If you only have a few domain names and you want excellent customer service, go with GoDaddy. If you own 50+ domains and don't care about great customer service, but ease of portfolio management is a major factor, then go with Moniker.
