Where Do People Get Those Pictures Telling You To Draw Certain Things In Support Of Stuff

Why do people tell others that they're good at something when they really aren't?

Like when someone asks another person if they're good at singing and that person lies and says yes even though they're terrible. When someone draws an bad picture and someone says it's beautiful when it really looks awful. Don't these people realize that all they're doing is setting these people up to make fools of themselves? With me, I deal in harsh logic and fact and I don't tell white lies just to spare people's feelings. I can honestly say that I'd want you to tell me the truth about something I ask you to critique me on lest I make a fool of myself and then proceed to strangle you for making me think I was good enough (haha, jk). So what do you think?

10 year old caught drawing naughty pictures of babysitter?

My 13 year old son reported to me that he walked into my 10 year old daughter's room, asked what she was doing, and she showed him some sexual pictures she'd drawn of their babysitter. He grabbed them away and tried to go show my husband (who was already home from work, I wasn't yet) but she snatched them back and flushed them down the toilet. So neither my husband or I ever saw them. She is a very artistic and intelligent girl, and she thinks the world of the babysitter we hired, who is a very attractive girl. I just don't understand why she would do this though. A year ago her brother's friend had snuck into her bedroom and made out with her and her friend and tried to touch them (she came to me about this, and the friend, who's 14 now, has not been back over to our home since) She also stumbled across some of my husband's internet porn and I've caught her a few times trying to watch those late night sex movies on Cinemax. We've cancelled the channel and blocked the internet porn, but could any of these things have an influence on what she did? Should I punish her? Why would she draw them of our babysitter, could she already be having homosexual feelings (though I think the pictures were of her having sex with her boyfriend). Should I send her to the school guidance counselor or a therapist? Has anyone else had a similar experience like this? Thanks so much for reading, I feel really weird about this.

Why am I still bad at drawing? Is it hopeless?

I really appreciate your consistency and dedication. Eight years !! that’s a real long time to culture an interest. Let me tell you my story first. I started sketching about two and half years back. When I started drawing I didn’t even aware about different grades of pencil. I started from scratch. There wasn’t anyone to teach me as I didn’t have an aim of being an artist. I just started developing interest and started searching for different study materials and online tutorials and started practicing on sketchbook. And within a year I achieved quite a good progress in sketching. Then gradually I started focusing on realistic sketching. Now after more than two years I have discovered a new identity as an artist within myself which I was completely unaware of. Here is one of my first drawingsAnd these are my recent works. Now coming to your point, without seeing your level of work its really difficult to suggest you anything to further improve your skills. However , I would still give you some general suggestions. From the description, clearly you have dedicated your time and efforts to develop this skill. What went wrong?1. May be you got biased from different opinion from different sources. Art doesn't have any formula, applying which you can get a desired outcome. Every artist has his own way of approach. You have to develop your own. Those books and workshops are helpful but you cannot apply every technique mentioned there. This may be one reason that you got lost in plenty of ideas.2. Know your interest: you like art and there is no doubt about that. But you cannot master every technique at the same time. I would suggest that first master one technique then move to other. First try all form of medium (graphite , charcoal , pastel) then whichever you feel comfortable with, go ahead with that. 3. Don’t try to create masterpiece at every trial. Just focus on one part/aspect in each work. (eg. Light and shade, form, proportion, shade, eyes , hairs etc. )4. Give it time: don’t try to just complete it. Go for quality rather than quantity. I’m sure you can do this. Don’t lose hope. Keep practicing keeping in mind the above points. If you need any advice or help, feel free to contact me , I will be more than happy to help you. Good luck!Cheers!!

Is it irresponsible that Charlie Hebdo will do more drawings of Mohammed after some innocent people outside of the magazine died in the terrorist attack?

"If you can do (or not do) something that, as a result, decreases the chances of some innocent person being injured or killed, isn't that the right thing to do?"I understand your mindset, I really do. On the surface it may seem like just giving into the demands of bullies for the sake of their potential victims, even if it goes against everything that you believe in, might be the honorable thing to do. However, the fact that the fulfillment of some precondition is necessary for some event to take place doesn't make said fulfillment responsible for the resulting event. In this case, that Charlie Hebdo could have presumably saved people who were killed in the recent attacks from death by not publishing those cartoons doesn't make those journalists responsible for those deaths.Additionally, here are a couple of other things to think about:From an idealistic point of view: freedom of speech is vitally important. If we roll over and allow boogeymen with AKs to steamroll us and rob us of our rights, our freedom to think and speak, we're slaves. Something less than human. I for one am grateful that there are people out there willing to place themselves in the line of fire for their ideals, and I hold such people in the highest regard. They should be an inspiration to us all, as they are the sentinels of our very humanity. From a pragmatic point of view: giving in to bullies tends to make them stronger. Say that we stop drawing pictures of Mohammed. Then what? Do you expect people such as those who were willing to blow away a dozen-plus innocents at Charlie Hebdo to be satisfied? If your right to criticism (of Mohammed, religion, government, or otherwise) isn't terribly important to you, take a look at the tenets of Sharia law to see what you're in for under the rule of radical Islamic tyrants. Give an inch, and they'll take a mile with a smile.I can sympathize with your temptation to think the way that you do, but I don't agree with you. Tyrannical authoritarian monsters should not be pandered to or respected - they should be repelled and fought, tooth and nail. Those journalists weren't murderers, they were heroes, and it's a fucking shame that they're gone because of a couple of brainwashed meatheads.

Is it true that is illegal to DRAW or see DRAWINGS (fictional images) of child pornography?

No, it's not true.

Congress passed a law (The "Protect Act") which, among other things, made it illegal to produce or possess fictional images of child pornography. However, in two separate cases, the sections relating to purely 'virtual' images that would not be "obscene" under the law were the virtual participants adult were ruled to be unconstitutional.

As a warning, though, in the second case (US v. Handley) Christopher Handley agreed to plead guilty to a lesser misdemeanor charge, in return for six months in jail (which was suspended so he never actually served it) and a lifetime ban on buying or reading comic books or owning a computer, after the FBI raided his home and declared that 23 of his 7,000 manga comic books and a half dozen or so of the thousands of Manga and Anime files on his computer were illegal. His lawyer believed that the comics and images were legal under the latest court rulings - but the US Attorney was in a position to drive him into bankruptcy from the cost of defending himself, so he was advised to take the deal, since it also specifically did not include sex offender registration.

So even if what you draw (or own) is legal - the government can still break you financially if they don't like it.

Does changing your Facebook profile photo in support of LGBTQ gay pride in countries outside the US (where gay marriage is still illegal) help at all?

"People who I have never seen being vocally for same-sex marriage before seem to jumping onto this bandwagon all of a sudden."Correct. Because it looks pretty! Someone is allowed to post a pretty picture, right?"It seems kind of hypocritical and this trend seems to be drawing in people who I think are not very serious about this issue which could negatively effect the movement in other countries."What? How do you reach such a conclusion?A rainbow picture is synonymous with being pro-queer. So if your newsfeed is littered with such pictures, you have to assume they know something about queer rights and they are in support of it.So many people are getting educated as we speak. Thus, any person who thinks that people are against queer rights in the society are forced to change their personal opinion due to such perceived mass support.Any queer person in closet has a reason to believe that it gets better. It lets people to believe that they are doing something for the cause. Thus, it lets previously uncaring/undecided people to take sides and too for queer rights. Do not underestimate psychology. It is forcing conversations to take place all over the internet. You now do not wonder whether your neighbour or your arch-rival is pro or anti-queer rights.None of this was happening if rainbow display pictures were not a thing. If non-serious people are talking about it, it is a serious win. Queer activists will tell you one or two things about how difficult it is to engage with general public. If US is getting gay marriage and Facebook is happy about it, don't worry. Use it as weapon to hasten the demise of 377 in India. Disgruntling is for people above 60. :D (I kid!)

Is it ok for a 7th grader to draw creepy, scary, gory stuff (my mom asks me why I draw that stuff so I just say it's because I like to draw that)?

Do you want to see what I drew in the 7th grade? This was my drawings in the 7th grade. I was just starting to really get into drawing.I was also depressed. Personally though, I think it’s bullshit that you can tell from someones drawing whether they’re depressed or not.So your mom shouldn’t necessarily be worried. Many people like to draw this stuff, it’s interesting. And it’s easy to be creative.Your age shouldn’t have anything to do with what you should be able to draw.Draw whatever you want whenever you want.Yeah, it’s okay for a 7th grader to be drawing that stuff. It’s also normal, if you like to draw.:)

What are the actual differences between anime and western cartoons?

While a common thread can be found, anime and manga aren't a style as they themselves have countless drawing styles. Cartoons are defined by their exaggerated and unrealistic body proportions and simplistic shapes, but also by the fact that they are intended to be humorous. They are caricatures and unlike cartoons, anime and manga are a story-telling medium. These are drawings where the focus is not on the visual impact and that is reflected in the art style. You should also remember that there are cartoons that do look like anime as the influence of anime has spread to cartoons. In such cases, you get something you still call a cartoon, but which looks more like an anime and often enough, actually tries to tell a proper story, rather than just amuse (again, anime influence).
Also, you can't expect your art style to completely change in every single way when you switch from one to the other. Various elements can still seep through.

Why do people hate furries?

IF YOU ARE UNDER THE AGE OF 13, VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED.I will show you a series of pictures that will help explain the reasons of hate:Now I don’t know if you are a furry, but for those people who don’t know what a ‘furry’ is, its a person who likes the idea of anthropomorphic animals. That’s it.Now to see how the general public thinks of furries.AH GOD WHAT IS THAT THING!?!*runs away, never to be seen again*Anyways, what people generally think of us as 30 year old men in suits meant to be animals. And the whole porn thing we do.I totally don’t watch anything like that.Totally.*clears throat*ANYWAYS, what people tend not to do is look deep inside and really see what these furries actually do.But look back up at those pictures and tell me what you see.I’ll wait………They’re cute and colourful!Just like the people inside the suits!WOAH!Groundbreaking stuff, I know. But seriously, most furries have personas, which they call fursonas, which it like a whole different character.Shy and mysterious in real life?Outgoing and outrageous in character! But not everyone has to be a completely different, you can… be yourself!I mean, look at my fursona!I mean, its KINDA stolen from the internet, but I love it too much, and I’m too lazy and too scared to draw one, just in case my family finds out…But no, we are not some 30 year old men in creepy suits, we are a FAMILY goddammit. And thats all that matters.Comment if I should improve anything, and no sarcasm and hate, please.
