Would you recommend a dude ranch vacation for someone who likes horses, but has no riding experience?

Yes! Do your research - some ranches don’t practice very good animal safety and hygiene, but 99% of the horses on a well-maintained property are chosen for their good temperaments and easy acceptance of all riders, from beginner to advanced. Please note - you won’t learn any horsemanship in this type of environment. Even guided rides are done for the safety of horse and rider. But if you just want to enjoy riding a horse, and don’t have any future plans to continue riding, any vacation that offers horseback riding should be enjoyable. For those in the back who missed it - I KNOW not all Dude Ranches operate the same. As always, do your research into the animal’s health and safety and make sure you pack appropriate riding gear - long denim, heeled boots (no inside zippers) and helmet if you have one. The ranches I’ve visited offer a selection of men’s and women’s cowboy boots for those without, and all reputable ranches should offer protective headgear, as it is illegal for those under 18 to ride without a helmet (in most states, if not all) and adults are highly encouraged to wear helmets, as well.Hope that helps, and have fun!

Grape farms in california?

I'm thinking about visiting a grape farm due to watching a korean drama. ^-^ Anyway im looking for a grape farm to visit that is drivable from San Jose that isn't too bad of a drive and not further than maybe three hours.
Having a cherry farm would also be a plus!
~Thanks

Is Switzerland a place where you can buy a big wide open field, treat an orchard, food animals, grow vegetables, live a fulfilled life and have a big farm or garden area where you walk every day?

Sure! Get the latest issue of “Tierwelt”, a periodical often used by farmers and ranchers to put ads for selling and buying all sorts of stuff.Maybe you find someone who is selling their farm! But I very much doubt it. Farmland is in short supply here, and if someone is selling or giving up the farm, they will have no problems to find buyers or renters. But let’s say you can get yourself a traditional Swiss farm house outside main mountain ranges. Mountains make up some 80% of Switzerland. Some farms are on mountains, but you want a wide-open field. You may be able to purchase 10 hectares, but these do not come in a single plot, but many small ones that are separated by other farmers’ lands sometimes.A typical holding is more like 5 hectares. There are a few such farms right here where I live. They have a dozen or so of cattle, grow cherries, plums and apples, potatoes and squash. But it is a hell of a job to do that! It will be a fulfilled life - because you just got yourself a 16/7/365 kind of job. Prepare to have a hard time getting married! Farmers here are having a hard time to convince other folks to such a vacation- and weekend-less life. Switzerland is not the most fertile ground for farming. It’s gotten better with global warming, but sometimes you get your orchard hailed upon, or you get a late freeze, or the summer rains out.Sometimes, the grass will not grow and you have to either buy - or sell the cattle. Like this year. But the cherries were great. And there are numerous pests and fungus that thrive on our usually moist, warm summer weather.Farming is far, far more difficult than being an engineer, a banker or a chemist. That is probably why only 1.5% of all Swiss are farmers.

What are the best activities to do with children when visiting Bandung, Indonesia?

There are tons of activities people can do when visiting Bandung, especially for children.North Bandung has a lot of beautiful places as travel destination for tourists; especially Lembang and Dago.Lembang offers you beautiful scenery, like Taman Bunga Begoniaor Tangkuban Perahu mountain. But these places might be boring for kids to be visited. Don’t worry, Lembang still has a lot of fun places for kids. Bring them mounted and meet with horses in D’RanchThey definitely will also love this place, Farmhouse! Beside they will meet sheeps, this place will offers you the beautiful of European vibes!Or maybe you will bring your kids for camp and outbound to Grafika Resort inside the pretty and famous Cikole Pine ForestAnd food hunting to Dusun Bambu & Floating Marketand there are still soooo many places but those was the most famous places to be visited. Oh, and one more place far away in the Southern Bandung kids gotta like, visit Rancaupas for camp and seeing deer! For parents and teens who likes to gather and hang out, I’m sure Dago won’t disappoint you. The cafe beside they serve good food, they also offer you good scenery (I can’t tell the cafe one by one since they are too many and out of the topic.)Well.. hope this help you. Enjoy my lovely hometown Bandung! :)(*ps: better not visit on the weekend!)

What are the must-see attractions/activities in Costa Rica?

You are best served avoiding San Jose, as it does not have a lot of interest from a tourist perspective. Plus, you can find some nice bed & breakfast locations in Alajuela, which gives you the same access to any of the day trips or excursions that normally leave from San Jose (e.g. whitewater rafting).Rafting on the Rio Pacuare. It is rated as one of the top rafting rivers in the world, in no small part due to its beautiful scenery. Most rafting excursions will also give you sufficient opportunity to swim in the river as well.La Paz Waterfall Gardens are worth a visit. You can easily hit these during a drive north. Allow a few hours to walk the path along the falls.Arenal Volcano is wonderful. You can go on a nighttime tour that will take you to the viewing area around the volcano, where you are likely to see lava and/or sparks shooting from the very active volcano. Also worth a visit near here is the Tabacon Grand Spa (aka hot springs). Great for a swim, or even an evening of lounging with a cocktail.Lake Arenal is nice, and can make for a wonderful picnic location if you happen to be nearby. It is also a great drive-by location if you're heading from Arenal Volcano to the west coast. As Nick Halverson mentioned, Manuel Antonio/ Quepos is definitely worth the trip - it's a gorgeous coastal region, with great beaches, hikes, restaurants, water activities, etc.In general, it is possible to traverse the country via bus, hired guide, etc., though I'd recommend renting a car, as you get a real feel for the country by finding your way. You'll have the opportunity to stop in some truly unique rural areas, and you may even happen upon some great unknown restaurants, sites, experiences, etc. Well worth it!
