So your best bet is to dig all the way down until you hit the bottom of the world, then go back up a few layers and begin your search.You can often find gold near lava, so if you encounter a natural cave with lava pools, it's worth combing over. I think this is not because lava and gold spawn together, but because lava pools are generated with a lot of open space so they tend to reveal ore that would otherwise be in the middle of rock.It's usually found in veins, so if you see one gold ore, there are probably a few nearby. Where can you find a gold pickaxe in Minecraft?
I do not think it is possible to just "find" a gold pickaxe. It is possible to find pickaxes in treasure chests in villages, dungeons, mineshafts, and strongholds, but it is unlikely that they are gold. Instead, try to acquire gold ingots, either from mining, trading with villagers, or killing zombie pigman (which is painfully slow; I collected 2 gold nuggets, or about 22% of a gold ingot, in half an hour). Then, use a crafting table to place gold ingots and sticks in the correct shape to make a gold pickaxe. These mine blocks incredibly quickly, but have barely any durability, and cannot be used to mine any ore other than coal and iron. If you absolutely must have such as pickaxe, enchant it with at least Unbreaking III, or it will break in no time.

Find a mesa:Gold is much easier to find and mine in a mesa as it can be found at much higher levels. Once at the mesa find an abandoned mine (these are generally pretty easy to spot in mesas) and whilst taking care to light things up and not get killed that will give you a good start on having gold.Build a Zombie Pigman farm:This needs to be done above the nether and so you will first need to know how to do that:After that it is time to build the farm. You will need a whole lot of building blocks and depending on the farm you’re building you may need a whole lot of iron. Don’t forget to either put a nether portal on the roof or find a way to break the bedrock so you can get back down. Why is gold weak on minecraft?
Actually, I think gold lasts only as long as wood items. And realistically, are gold items used as tools? Iron isn't decorative metal but used for many practical reasons in real life. Gold however is more of a decorative item. I know that Minecraft is just a video game and shouldn't be compared to reality but the part where gold is decorative instead of practical is right. But I remember reading a book on gold on how it has other medical uses and such but not any real use as a mining tool.
How do you get the gold pickaxe in Minecraft?
You craft it like any other pickaxe, just with golden ingots as the material. I do not believe you can find it anywhere (see Lecta Orinosto's answer to Where can you find a gold pickaxe in Minecraft?). Gold is obtained by randomly finding it (desert sand temples often have lots of it, and ocean monuments have a few gold blocks -- see Lecta Orinosto's answer to What can you do with a gold block in Minecraft?) Gold pickaxes break blocks very quickly, but cannot be used to mine any ore other than iron and coal, and break very quickly.

diamonds will not spawn above level 15, so you should start strip minning at level 5 which is bedrock level, and then work your way up till 15, diamonds spawn from level 1-15 in 1.0.0, i promise you, but they are way less common to be in level 14-15, than 5-13.
