Where Else To Buy Neutrogena Shampoo

Neutrogena T/gel?

T/gel is really made for people with scalp conditions. (Psoriasis, dermatitis, etc) Its active ingredient is coal tar. So I would be careful how often you use it. Especailly because from what I learned in school the coal tar helps to thin the skin thus helping conditons such as psoriasis where it is an over active production of skin. I would say if you seem to be ok then it shoudln't be a problem but after a while it can be rather harsh to both your scalp and hair. Try to maybe change it up every couple days with something else just to ensure that you dont create a problem you dont realize? That is my advice.

Has anyone used that Neutrogena T-Gel Extra Strength Shampoo?

My husband and daughter both have Psoriasis and they have used both.

The equate worked pretty well, but to be honest, I can't stand the odor it leaves on their hair. It actually makes me feel physically sick. Others commented to my daughter who is 19, that her hair smelled terrible. After several bottles of it, we quit and switched to the Neutrogena T-gel extra strength. It has I believe 4% tar instead of the regular strength's 2%.

The extra strength works very, very well for both of them. They used to use Denorex's extra strength tar shampoo but they quit manufacturing it. They both actually have found better results with Neutrogena's extra strength.

If these don't work, see if you can get to a dermatologist who can make sure you don't have something else going on with your scalp like a fungus. Also, a dermatologist can prescribe a shampoo with an even higher percentage of tar.

Best of luck to this frustrating problem.

Neutrogena Anti Residue shampoo for dyed hair...?

It will, every time you shampoo your hair. The anti-residue is just less harsh than a normal shampoo.

The hair industry is a billion dollar business, they sell products that cleans & condition the hair. They also sell products that damage and causes hair loss. They also DO NOT give money back guarantee for damaged hair or hair loss due to 'abuse'. mechanical, chemical, or thermal styling. Hair straighteners and relaxers top the hair products pose the greatest risks. Hair relaxers, related products marketed heavily to African-American women, are dangerous because they may contain powerful chemicals such as lye, a toxic substance also used in drain cleaners.

Help! I've been using T-Gel Neutrogena Tar Shampoo for psoriasis, & it turns hair orange - & hair's thinned!?

Question for you: who recommend you to take this shampoo? How did you hear about it?
What was the reason why you should be washing your hair with this shampoo? Have you read reviews?

If you have cavities or teeth falling out, would you change shampoos?

There are many reasons why people have thinned hair, usually it's what they have been taking: supplements, medications, hair dyes, how they style their hair, some anti depressants or even their acne medications NOT the shampoo. Shampoo are meant to clean hair. Google it.

Some people recommend mane & tail shampoo to make their hair grow. Shampoo intended for animals may contain insecticides or other medications for treatment of skin conditions or parasite infestations such as fleas or mange. These must never be used on humans.

Others they say prenatal tablets. Prenatal vitamins don't make your hair grow. Pregnant women have to start taking care of their bodies when they're pregnant, meaning stop smoking, drinking, dyeing or perming their hair SO OF COURSE their hair start growing again. But it has nothing to do with their hair, it has something to do to help the development of their unborn child.

There are many people on YA HAIR who are damaging their hair, but the majority of problems I've answered during the last 2 days have been hair loss. And those same people are under 30 years old giving advice. They haven't really experienced what damage or hair loss is all about, and it's not because of their shampoo, it's because of HOW they're styling their hair.

Once again, the hair industry is a billion dollar business, their main job is to make profit and they do not give money back guarantee for thinning hair, hair damaged or hair loss - as you've figured out. Thanks for posting!

Will Neutrogena's T-Gel Dandruff shampoo strip artificial hair color?

T-Gel is an okay scalp treatment.
However, it will not complete strip the color, but it may
alter it a bit. ( May remove a little)

There is also a shampoo know as, Poly-Tar shampoo,
found over the counter and your hair dresser, could
order you one that without a doubt will not strip you hair.
A bottle 6-8 oz. will cost you approx. $6.-$8.00.
T-Gel is not to be used every time one shampoos, or at least I would not recommend it.
Alternate every other shampoo with a shampoo for color treated hair and conditioner.
Take Care of it if you are coloring it.

Does neutrogena's t-gel dandruff shampoo really work?

lol @ "i be flakin".

Whenever my scalp gets itchy or flaky, I use it a couple of times, and it's always worked great for me.

Has anyone tried neutrogena t-gel? Does it work well?

I had a dry, itching and flaking scalp and had a terrible time finding a shampoo that worked. I finally got the t-gel, since it is the most intense dandruff fighter you can buy without a prescription. It smells gross and looks gross, but I have not had a problem since using it. I only have to use it once a week, and the rest of the time I can use regular shampoo. I am hooked on the stuff, but I am hesitant to use it long term, as the tar in t-gel is questionable. I would suggest you use it sparingly if nothing else works. Also, go to your dermatologist and ask them what they would recommend. I have been meaning to do that, but the t-gel is a good substitute for now.

Is Neutrogena Anti-Residue shampoo safe for color treated hair?

I'm sorry, I should've mentioned that I use the Anti-Residue shampoo to get rid of dandruff. I just started using it today, and plan to once a week or once every two weeks. Head & Shoulders and other anti dandruff shampoos didn't work for me, and I plan on using a leave in conditioner and maybe trying some home remedies to moisturize my dry scalp. Thank you for your response though, Lili!

Can I use a body wash as a shampoo?

Shampoo and body wash/shower gel are two major classes of personal care cleansing products.Shampoo are specifically formulated to clean and take care of hair, whereas body wash is a liquid soap that is appropriate for cleansing the body. The main difference between shampoo and body wash is that ,Hair is actually a modified type of skin. The main difference between hair and skin is that skin is basically a living organ that replaces its outermost layer on a frequent basis. In contrast, hair is basically dead material derived from a few live cells deep within the skin surface.Shampoo and body wash are formulated differently. Shampoos are made for specific hair conditions such as dryness, oiliness, damage from color treatment, frizziness, etc. Each function uses different ingredients designed for hair and not skin. The purpose of a shampoo is to clean the hair, but it must not overly clean the hair or all of the protective oils in the hair would be stripped.Body wash is an emulsion/gel of water and detergent base with added functional ingredients such as moisturizer/conditioner, pearlescent pigments, colorants, fragrance, etc. It is used as a skin cleansing agent in the shower or bath.Body wash contains milder surfactant bases than shampoos. In addition to being pH-friendly to the skin (5–6.5), most also contain gentle conditioning agents in the formula. Body wash needs proper detergency without degreasing skin. It normally has a rich foam, easy rinsing. So inshort I dont recommend using shower gel/body wash for hair cleansing.NotjustCosmetics
