Are there any vampire movies that are actually scary?

The vampire movie that scared me the most, by far, was Salem’s Lot. Of course, when I first saw it, I was only 9 years old… but I still think it’s one of the creepiest vampire movies ever made.

What was the name of this IFC vampire movie?

Habit (1995)
IMDb synopsis:
It's Halloween in New York, but it's not quite Sam's [Larry Fessenden, who also wrote and directed] day. His father has recently died, he's just broken up with his girlfriend Liza [Heather Woodbury], and he gets robbed on the subway. Already drunk, he goes to a Halloween party at the apartment of friends Nick [Aaron Beall] and Rae [Patricia Coleman] and there meets Anna [Meredith Snaider]. Anna walks home with him, but, when Sam has to dash back to Nick and Rae's apartment because he took the wrong coat, Anna disappears. Several nights and a lot of beers later, Sam runs into Anna at a festival. They go for a ride on the ferris wheel, and Anna ... bites his lip in the heat of passion. Sam wakes up the next morning, lying alone in the grass, and Anna is gone.

I've been a Fessenden fan for quite a while now. He's definitely someone whose work should be followed, both in front of and behind the camera.

What are some other movies like "Vampire suck" and "Epic Movie" but in trashier ?

Why are vampires so gay?

Yeah writers today certainly have taken the vampire myths bent them over and gone to town on them.

Blame cry baby emo teens for F***ing it up. They all seem to love whinging cry baby characters then actual believable characters. And because of that it sells.

Horror movies tend to have fads like vampires and werewolves. What trend do you see on the rise now?

As far as antagonists go. Probably more AI type stuff, that scares people. Cybernectics gone wild. Since zombies/biological warfare and aliens have been also been done , they might go back to the devil/curses for awhile. Or malignant narcissists-they’re all the rage now.

Twilight confusing MOVIE!!!! Why is that girl vampire mad at the end...?

you need to read the book

victoria and james are hunters

they don't understand why these other vampires are so attached to a human

humans are their food

it's like 7 people guarding a chicken

the moment james sees her

he knows she will be his new game

to get bella away from them

and kill her

it's all a game for them

they are used to winning

victoria can't believe that these human-lovers killed her mate - who is so good at hunting

so she plots revenge

and decides to continue the game

How have vampire novels, TV shows, and movies romanticized death? How would you fix this?

I would say that a million things romanticize death. It’s compelling. It’s mysterious. And it’s coming. You can’t fixit either. Because death was always a major theme. Loss. Tragedy. My friend was here, now he is gone. Forever. What do I do with that? We need to sort it out. Tell ourselves happy stories of reunion and redemption. Maybe if you’re really good, really strong, really smart you can conquer death. We love those stories so much. We want them to be true. And we wish we were worthy…
