The neighbors in the next house to my left have been pointing lasers at my bedroom windows as soon as it gets dark, I put thick blanket on top of the curtains and the laser still goes through in to my room, could the cops take them in?

So of course what we were doing was a great idea.ANYWAY.Night fell. We smoked one last joint on the side of my friends house before going home. It’s very important worth noting that the friend whose house we were at was inside at this point having supper. We had a pretty good view of a much younger kid to the left of our friends house at his kitchen table through the bay window. …out came the laser pointer.Cue: two high morons giggling and pointing the laser pointer at the kid through the window.Suddenly the kids mom rushing over to him, FREAKING OUT, and grabbing him to run for cover. We just though it was weird, maybe a bit of an overreaction, and went back to my house.A few hours later my friend got a call on his cell phone from our other friend… while he was being arrested.TURNS OUT the kid had been somewhat traumatised by his dad's war stories of seeing his fellow recruits get snipered (for the life of me I have no idea why someone would want to tell their young child that kind of story) and his mom and him thought the absolute worst.I still feel like a real a-hole over the incident. We never got in trouble and my friend was let off the hook… but man. Poor kid.
What to do about my neighbor's REALLY loud TV?
I grew up living in a house, but after getting married I have become an apartment dweller and can not get used to really loud neighbors, especially their loud TV. Does this sound strange? I am a quiet person and enjoy a little quiet time?? Maybe I should just get used to it, any suggestions?

For something you didn't do? When I was 13, someone damaged my neighbor's camper late one night. A 'reliable witness' told him it was me (which it was not!). After a week of hounding me, he said if I admitted to it, he would drop it and not call the police. I was tired of it, so I lied and said "Ok, I did it". Turned out his reliable witness was an 84-year-old neighbor lady with cataracs! (I found out about six months later it was a neighbor kid who did it but I never set the record straight). He went to his grave thinking I was the guilty party. Has anything like that ever happened to you?
If a neighbor calls the police to your house does it go on any record?
Neighbor called the police because my spouse was yelling and saying inappropriate things to me. House was a little messed up because of things he'd thrown around. Police came in and talked to me and asked me if he hit me. I said no and they informed me about how they could press charges even without my cooperation if they felt something had happened. Spouse had been drinking a little. In the end no charges were pressed and no official police report filed to my knowledge. I know that this does not go on his personal record but does it show in police records that they received a call for potential domestic violence at our address?
How do I record nuisance neighbors' low frequency noise pollution?
The neighbors directly across my house have been nothing but trouble since they moved into our neighborhood. They do almost everything at excessively loud levels at all hours: they play their music/ TV programs at full blast, they rev up their cars at wee hours, they hold frequent late-night parties and drinking sessions, etc., etc. Now, after three years of taking their crap, I finally filed a complaint at the local council, especially since they threatened me with bodily harm the last time I asked them to turn their music down. Since my filing of the complaint, they have resorted to playing just their bass loudly and they immediately turn it off the minute they spot one of my family or the neighborhood security going towards their house. It is so frustrating and annoying, and it's affected our quality of life, not to mention our health--our heartbeats are being affected by the thumping bass. Although I know I'm not really required to, I would like to have hard evidence of their low-frequency noise pollution. What specific equipment do I need to do this? Normal recorders don't do the trick because low frequency noise is not so much heard than felt. Hopefully, you can give me some affordable, doable options. Thanks!

My Entire Neighborhood Smells Like Skunk? Why?
Ok, so I live in a rural area and we have skunks. It's usually not so bad, don't bug the skunks and all is well. However a few nights every summer, particularly in late august, the entire neighborhood starts to smell like skunk. Heavy and thick and though I've never been sprayed, sometimes if you venture outside for long enough when the smell is in the air, it clings to your clothes just a bit. Very faint, but there. Doesn't stick to your skin though. I'm a night person, and so I take walks after dark quite frequently. I have seen the skunks on several occasions, but like I said, never been sprayed. We just leave each other alone. Skunks get the right of way. Tonight the entire neighborhood smells, though, and I just want to know why. Is it mating season? It always seems to happen right around the same time each year. We thought it might be a skunk getting hit on the road, but we've never seen any dead skunks so we don't think that's it. Did something else get sprayed and it's just wafting through the area?
Why do my neighbors keep having parties?
I have been in the same position as you. I had people who moved in under me who slept during the day and partied all night long. After complaining to the leasing office and some noise complaint notes on their door it was still bad. Here is what I was told. - Never go to your neighbor. You will only make it worse. - They are probably breaking a city noise ordinance. - Call you night watch or night officer on the property. - Also, call 911 with a noise complaint. My leasing office told me to call our night officer so that they would have another witness to the noise and to call the police so that there is a report on file. Even if you have to call 911 a couple of times to get them over there. My end result after weeks of sleepless night they finally had enough proof that I was not just complaining out of my a*, they got evicted. The problem with apartments is that you will always hear other people. And you have to take it with a grain of salt. However, you don't have to loose sleep over it. Take your own right in your own hand and take control.
