Where Is A Good Place To Stay In Pigeon Forge

Is Pigeon Forge Tennessee a good place to live?

Pigeon Forge is a great place to live. My family recently sold our summer home there and big regret!! They bought in the 70's and I watched it grow to where it is now. The people are friendly and the views breathtaking. The economy is good there due to the tourism, jobs are easily obtained and the county of Sevier is pretty much on their toes for its residents. In my opinion; pack up and go country!!
Hope this helps...

Is Pigeon Forge, Tennessee a good place to vacation with kids?

I think it is great but I have not been there since my childhood. There is almost “too much to do.” But it is a beautiful area.I was born in Virginia, though I am not sure Arlington or Fairfax County qualify as the “South” these days. I spent parts of many childhood summers on the Tenn/Virginia border at Hungry Mother State Park, which is a Virginia Park. It may be too late to get a cabin or camp ground there for the summer, but there are a lot of fun outdoor things to do. The Lake is great and clean, no motor-boating.

Good Restaurants in Pigeon Forge, TN?

Cracker barrel is always good. I work at Dollywood and love the Peddler Grill. It's a fancier restaurant, but it's very very good. If you want a steak they bring the steak out and cut it right there and let you inspect the meat before its cooked. It's a great date. Email me and I'll answer any other questions about the area.

Why do people think Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg is a great place to vacation in?

It is a perfect, tranquil get away in winter months! Most of the rest of the year, it is crammed with people who are a bit rowdy and loud! I go for the serenity and beauty found in the National Park. I especially love Cades Cove and the Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts loop!

I will be traveling to Pigeon Forge TN from St Louis MO soon. I have two primary options for the road trip. 1) Take HWY 64 East through Louisville Kentucky then 75 South, or 2) HWY 24 East to 40 East through Tennessee. Which route would be more scenic and enjoyable?

I would choose 75 South. Its more scenic with cute little towns along the way. As for 40, there is not as much to look at, although you can go through Nashville if you wanted. I am not crazy about the Nashville traffic. While there are some pretty views my preference is definately 75.

One of the best things about Pigeon Forge is the wealth of hotels in the area. From hotel deals to resorts, Pigeon Forge is full of great hotel choices for families vacationing in the Smoky Mountains. One of the newer hotels in the area is Margaritaville Island Hotel. Inspired by Jimmy Buffet, the hotel brings a bit of island paradise to the Smoky Mountains. The hotel is located in the Island Entertainment Complex in Pigeon Forge, putting guests right near the top shows and attractions including Dollywood. For inexpensive accommodations, these hotels are up your alley:Creekstone InnHotel Pigeon ForgeCountry Cascades Waterpark ResortComfort Inn & Suites at Dollywood LaneRamada Parkway NorthPersonally, I’m a fan of a cabin vacation when visiting Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. If planned correctly, these accommodations can actually end up being far more affordable than a hotel room.
