Where Is My Parcel Has It Been Seized Or Just Taking Too Long

If USPS says the package was seized by law enforcement, what should I do?

I’ll start by asking whether the package being seized was a big surprise to you. I’ll also tell you to be sure to not ever answer that question unless it is with your attorney. If you aren’t terribly surprised by this, then I would immediately retain an attorney, and I would get some additional cash together to cover whatever the likely bail might be if you are arrested. If you were expecting a package containing something legal, then I would contact the shipper and/or law enforcement. The shipper can probably provide you with information about which department to contact. If you know there was something illegal in it, then don’t contact them thinking that’s what a innocent person would do…bad idea. Just do what your attorney tells you to do… which will probably be nothing until or unless the police contact you. At the moment, there is little to prove that you actually ordered whatever is in the package. If you start making inquiries about “your” package, then you start eliminating potential options for your legal defense. If you weren’t expecting the package at all, then it’s up to you. Personally, I’d just ignore it. You don’t want to get caught up in something. Innocent is the worst thing to be when the police come knocking.

If a package gets seized by Canada Customs, what will happen?

The reason that Canada Border Services would seize a package is if it contained something that was illegal to ship to Canada. Depending on what that is, a lot of things can happen.

Here are a few examples.

1) Let's say you ordered a pellet gun or air rifle from an American online store. They ship that up to you and when it reaches the border, it gets stopped. The agency looks things over and determines that this gun would be considered to be on the restricted weapons. They seize the weapon and let you know that. Now you have to decide if you want to appeal the decision or not. But ultimately, if they don't let it in, you lose the money you paid for it and it gets destroyed. That's usually all that happens.

2) Another case, you are bringing in something that is illegal, like drugs. That would immediately get you a visit by the RCMP, not just seizing the item.

Some people try to get away with smuggling things into the country. For example, I saw an episode of "Border Security" recently where a guy sent himself a couple of separate packages containing parts for a gun. He thought that by buying from different suppliers and shipping from different addresses, no one would notice. But the CBSA put two and two together and stopped all the packages. They opened them, assembled the assault rifle, and confirmed all the pieces were bound for one person. They handed that case off to the RCMP, as this was a deliberate attempt to sneak the gun past by disassembling it.

Try checking out episodes of the show on YouTube. It's quite interesting to see and helps you understand what you cannot import and why.

EDIT:
A holster is just a case or container for a gun. It's not the gun itself. I don't think you would have a problem with that, although it may take longer as they hold it at customs to see if the airsoft gun is on its way in too.

How long will a package be held in customs of ISC NY USPS?

The black hole of shipping? Man, that is the million dollar question that has been asked plenty of times here. If it is customs for a couple of days to a week, it is probably fine. If it goes beyond a month, you have to go through the originating shipper to discover what is holding it up. They don’t tell the receiver, as a rule of thumb, because a LOT of stuff is sent through NYC that really shouldn’t be—illegal goods, in particular. So they don’t routinely warn the receiver that “hey, that hash you tried to buy from Afghanistan isn’t going to make it to you. Sorry.” The other problem is sheer volume of inbound packages. They are perpetually backed up. I never had anything shipped to me that I knew was going through ICS without insurance (if it was worth it).In short, you are going up a bunch of red tape to find out through ICS. You probably will have better luck going to the shipper and asking them for help. Can’t help you if you are trying to bring in food, seeds, bottles of anything, or other either illegal items or items that easily get flagged. Once flagged, they disappear into a warehouse like the one in Indiana Jones.Good luck!

How long does free shipping take from china to the uk?

I've ordered countless things from China. Ran into very few problems. One item was faulty and they just gave me a refund. Another item i am awaiting a refund on as it never arrived but i am not too worried as ebay protection covers me. You have 45 days to file your claim with ebay/paypal. After 21 days from despatch it is time to contact the seller if you have not received it. Usually airmail takes up to 14 days but can take longer.

If their feedback is good and high then i would not worry. Ebay encourages sellers to be honest and offer good service so if they want to keep running their business they will follow the rules.
