What are some lesser-known sights to see when visiting Glasgow, UK?
I’m not sure if this counts as “lesser-known”, but I can tell you that a visit to Pollok Country Park, containing both The Burrell Collection and Pollok House, is well worth a chunk of your time. The park itself is gorgeous, as well as being pretty huge, and is one of the places I have most enjoyed walking around in Glasgow, and I am endlessly fascinated by the Burrell’s many treasures. Granted, it’s a little way from the city centre, but it’s only ~10 minutes on the train from Glasgow Central to the nearest station (Pollokshaws West, ~5 minute walk from the park entrance), and it well worth setting aside the time for.In fact, Glasgow has a few very nice parks, such as Alexandra Park, and — another favourite of mine — Kelvingrove, which is near to the University of Glasgow, Hunterian Museum, and Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, all of which I would say are worth a look.If you didn’t guess, I’m a big fan of parks/walking in general, and there are few places I enjoy walking around as much as these parts of Glasgow! Hopefully some of this information is helpful.
