Can you tell me a little bit 'bout educational system in America?What I need to do to become a good student?
Not all US high schools are as bad as that other poster made them out to be. I should know, I went to one. The problem most of the bad schools have isthat they are filled with stupid poor people. Avoid inner city schools. In general what you want to do to be a good student is just make the teachers think you are trying hard. If you do that they will grade you easier and give you the benfit of the doubt in most circumstances. Yes, you shoucl participate in extracurricular activities. They look good on applications and they keep you busy so you dont fall in with a crowd of drug addict losers.
My new K-12 educational plan. Specialize the last year and eliminate summer vacations for grades 7-12. Opinions?
First, nobody is ok with a kid saying 6+6=13. Doesn't happen. Schools aren't just idle. There needs to be time to do physical maintenance. They are used through the summer for community stuff like sports. They are used to help behind kids catch up. I don't disagree with everything you said. There are a couple things for sure.Kids days are just as long as their parents day is. When they come home... they have a couple hours of homework. Kids are over worked. At least a large hunk of the psychological problems kids have are simply caused by overwork... anxiety and depression. We need to eliminate a lot if not all homework. Families melt down the result of over work and the stress that goes with it. Then you add the obvious fact that kids have several times the volume of information to absorb that their grandparents did... this is whats wrong with education. We want something that can't be had.Kids need 3 months to be kids. Teachers need 3 months to update their education and rebuild the course work that grows without end. The sad truth is that teachers don't get too much time off... the rest of society doesn't get enough time off.I do think we need to specializing sooner. There is too much in a liberal arts education. We need to do it better. We need to use more programmed learning where kids interests drives the specific instruction they receive. We should base our graduations on achievement not years in school. We need to accept that we have to make college like high school is today. We live in a different age. We can't force the needs of today into the box we used yesterday.

the cooperative movement was started to solve the problems of the society. But, unfortunately it failed yo meet the expectations of the finding fathers. I want to know what caused this.
