Tab options in new Yahoo Mail?
Hi all Trying to get to grips with this new Yahoo Mail. Every time I open an email, it creates a new "tab" for it. Is there a way of disabling that? When reading lots of emails, I'll soon end up with LOTS of tabs and cannot see the point benefit. Plus it will just be an extra step (and hassle) to just have to keep closing the tabs.... Any pointers or help would be great. Cheers Max

There is nothing called mail options. You have to go to Settings under the gear.

In the tools menu (the little gear wheel at top right). You have to be on the Mail page.

It appears that I may found then latest answer. I commensurate with all of you , US! Perhaps it morphed yet again from the old trouble free Yahoo of old. 1. Go to your home page where your mail first comes up. Don't go to this page's sprocket gear or any other Yahoo page, go home doggie! 2. Now once there go to the upper right, not top right, next to your name, this will be the larger purple blue sprocket gear that is under En Español. 3. Right click, there is NO Mail Options per se, rather "Settings" second choice. Left click this. 4. Hurrah, making progress, a square box opens in the center of your page. 5. Now at least you can navigate to what you want. For example: 6. I wanted to associate a name to my email so on the left hand side I went to "Accounts" 7. Left click this and you have another set of options. for this example I clicked "Your Name" . Frequently we get emails from who knows who because the name is an email address that is cryptic and we may even think it's spam when it is say from a friend. So for me I typed in my name so it is now associated with my email. 8. Click SAVE and your good to go ! 9. Please note you may wish to have another email account which keeps your anonymity so you want your cryptic email name. For example you entered a contest at Best Buy for the Newest TV and you don't want your name going to everybody out there which they sell and spread your name all over Manhattan. Yahoo mail option tab missing?
All Yahoo Messenger Mssgs are archived & show up in the Messenger Icon in Yahoo mail main page ( even though i have opted for "Do not archive history". have cleared the History on yahoo messenger, the messages still show up on Yahoo mail page whn i click on the Messenger icon. Deleting these msggs is painful & time consuming as each message has to be deleted individually , also i can not delete the Incoming mssgs, can only delete the mssgs i have typed. HOW DO I DISABLE THIS FEATURE or clear all the messenger chats from showing up in Yahoo mail page. Very frustrated with this. ..Cheers
How do I get Yahoo mail options to open?
I clicked on the arrow next to Options within the Yahoo mail homepage. When I clicked on mail options, the page would not open. It said the following: The website cannot display the page HTTP 500 Most likely causes: •The website is under maintenance. •The website has a programming error. This error has been occurring for over a week. How can I resolve this issue? Or, is there an alternative way I can enable a vacation response and set mail forwarding? I have attempted to open options in both Firefox and Internet Explorer; neither worked.
Yahoo Mail.. I can't find Options?
The star looking this is called the gear icon. Yahoo has eliminated the option to select how many emails to be deleted at one time. That is an old option. It was not available on the previous version either. Where are you getting this information? It's outdated.
Where is mail options on yahoo mail page?
I would like to direct incoming mail into folders, however there is not "OPTIONS" button on the top right side of my Yahoo screen. I see that other people are saying the same thing. Would you please direct me on how to get to the "Options". There is not an OPTIONS button on my screen!! Am I possibly using an old version of Yahoo Mail? If so, how can I upgrade to a newer version. Or please just tell me how to filter my mail into personal folders or spam. Thank you.
How do I change the delivery of emails from the promotions tab to my Inbox in Gmail?
It depends which emails you are looking to move and what you are looking to accomplish. Here's one way:1) Go into your settings, then click on Filters.2) Create a new filter.3) Insert the desired email address, subject, company, etc. Here I am using the example of all emails from BetterTechLife.4) Click "Create filter with this search."5) Change the category to "Personal." Here is where you could also create filters to customize the behavior of other incoming emails.6) Don't forget to click "Also apply filter to x matching conversations" to have those settings immediately implemented to your current inbox.Feel free to contact me.
