Why has the Picture in Picture (PIP) feature no longer included in new HD and UHD TVs?
True picture in picture (PIP) requires two tuners or at least two distinct sources. It adds cost in a TV and when everyone loses money (except maybe Vizio), manufacturers are very reluctant to add a feature nobody uses. When TVs were bulky and heavy, it made some sense, but now TVs are thin and light and it is easier and better to simply add a second TV.Since people have typically a single TV source, the only meaningful use of PIP is to watch TV and perhaps play a game at the same time. A small TV will do just fine for that purpose (and you get the audio as well!).

Apparently it can flower if you know how to take care of it, but since we've had it, it hasn't shown any flowers. It seems like it's struggling to stay alive.
