Should I get liquid nitrogen to quickly chill my drinks like Coke?
It’s not very practical. You’d have to buy an expensive dewar to store it in. Cheaper containers won’t be as safe and won’t store it for as long. Liquid nitrogen in bulk is quite cheap. However, a regular person just buying it from a welding supplier or something is likely to get ripped off. It’s still not that expensive. It’d be fun to play with the first time. But I wouldn’t go through the trouble and expense of maintaining a constant supply of liquid nitrogen in my house. Not unless, you plan on making profitable YouTube videos or something.It’s your money. If you want to try it, it will work. It won’t take long at all to chill a can of coke. Be fast. Your first time, you are going to want too try lots of other things. Good choices are superballs, racket balls, flowers, bananas, ice cream mix, crackers, vodka, balloons, and whipped cream.

Should Malibu Pineapple Rum be chilled?
I'm new to flavored rum and I find that due to the large amount that is placed into mixed drinks I find the drinks that I make to be unappetizingly warm. I know that I am free to chill the rum and try it but was wondering what exactly is usually done with it.

You wouldn't drink absithe neat, you should add 6 to eight parts ice cold water to the absinthe, and that would chill it. It should be cold. If submerged in icedwater - and of course depending on the initial temperature but presuming say 20 C …. it will be chilled to about 8 deg in 20 minutes.The hotter body’s heat (the bottle), passes into the cold water. If the day is hot, you will have to keep adding ice. Keep in mind that a container of just ice cubes does not contact the surface of the glass as compeletly as iced water and hen again, iced water - with sufficient ice cubes - sits at a fraction above freezing (chilling the water extracts energy - in this case cold), from the ice which actually lowers the temperature. Prepare the iced water say five minutes before you need to chill the beer and keep topping up the cubes for as long as you need.

That’s a great question and it’s one that crossed my mind on several occasions whenever I popped into the US in winter after a long absence. It’s an opulent and ridiculous thing to do.I still shake my head every time I track through snow, get to a restaurant only to be served ice water to be picked up by my freezing hands. I literally have to beg restaurants to give me lukewarm water in my glass. It’s horrendously wasteful and unnecessary.In Europe and Africa you don’t get ice. In Africa especially, get used to beer, water, pop, etc as lukewarm or room temperature or go without liquids for the remainder.We need to get our heads on right. Why on earth serve ice water??? It’s not even good for you. Plus it would save on water.
