Need to find a nest. Its illegal as most birds are illegal to own even illegal to have their feathers. The chance of getting caught is slim at less your posting vids and pics over facebook and youtube. I have had 10 illegal pet wild birds tamed down and nothing bad happen as cops will never know at less you show proof that you have them. I don't have them any more. I had blue jays and black birds. If your going to get an owl you need to find a nest like I said. If you catch one that is not a baby it will act nuts and be hard to tame. It takes months to tame them down to trust you if they ever do. My wild birds i tamed were still nothing like pet birds but trusted only me and would sit on my finger and chill. If i had food they would come up and want some. If another person was by me they would be scared to come by me.
We found a baby turtle?
i took the baby turtle to the pet store today to see what it was an he was a baby snapping turtle.. i let him go, an i bought me two slider turtles a male an female an everything else i needed for them.. i am going to raise them.. when my daughter gets home i wil use her camera to take some pics of them an post them.. they are sooo cute! an they can swim very fast! if i need to buy anything else for them i will, i spent a good 200 today on a tank and filter an other stuff i needed... they will get everything they need an them some...

Where can I buy an owl?
Get in touch w your states Department of Natural Resources (DNR). You will be able to look on their website for regulations on falconry. Becoming a falconer is the only way to legally obtain & keep an owl or other birds of prey in the USA. You have to be an apprentice w a licensed falconer in good standing for 2 (possibly more) years. You have to pass tests by your states DNR. Also, you're required to get a permit from the US Fish & Wildlife service. The state/federal agencies also come around to inspect your mews (owl housing), it must meet certain standards but you learn this during your apprenticeship. After obtaining your license you have to work your way up to holding an owl. You don't actually "own" these birds. Your permit give you permission to "hold" it as long as you meet standards. I assume you are aware that owls have very splatty poop? They have to be fed food that will become full of maggots rather quickly so be prepared to clean that up. As an apprentice falconer you'll learn all this and more. It can be expensive but if you are dedicated to putting the time in I understand it can be a very rewarding endeavor.
